    Seether does it again!

The album is completely different than any of its predecessors. It's got a few touches from each of Seether's previous albums, but it's something completely new. While many bands keep producing the same sound, Seether's written an album that's different enough, but keeps their roots. If you liked Karma and Effect, Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray definitely has a place in your music collection. While K&E featured darker songs, this album is its lighter counterpart. There's a glimmer of hope in their songs. "Tonight" captures exactly what Shaun was feeling when he wrote it. "Fade Out" shows a side of Seether that I don't think was ever captured on any of their previous efforts. "Roses" and "Forsaken" bring forth the emotion that I loved with their older songs like "Never Leave" and "Got It Made." "Here and Now" leaves behind the horse vocals from the Disclaimer days. "Pass Slowly," written about the late Eugene Welgemoed, brings to mind a candlelight vigil for Shaun's brother. The bass on the tracks ties everything together nicely. Dale did an excellent job pushing himself on this album. John's use of accents with his drum kit suits the mood of the songs as well. Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray is by far Seether's best work to date. While you might have your favorite albums (mine will forever be Karma and Effect), you can't deny the band's progression throughout the years to produce their best release yet.

I feel that this album is there best album yet. Lyrically it is awesome. Very strong lyrics, There are a couple tracks that shy away from the seether name so to speak but are continuing to grow on me. Now what i would love to see is a follow up acoustic version of this album just like one cold night. There is an itunes bonus it is the here and now track deconstructed i suggest to get that it is much better than the album version. All in all perfect album, every track is different in its own way. Most artists albums get boring because track after track sounds very similar and has the same feel but this album was done nicely to keep you on your toes, be careful when listening you are guaranteed to have an eargasm. Also the DVD is really cool too, they explain how they made this album and explain each track plus the country song video is on there.
