Just because you put it on a Blu-Ray Disc doesn't make it HD. Video quality is extremely poor. This is obviously the DVD version on a BD-ROM. The description on the back of the case refers to this as a DVD and boasts a 4x3 aspect ratio with 2.0 Stereo sound. The video and audio quality equals what you would expect if you recorded a fire on an 80's era camcorder. There is an apparent hum in the audio, complete with the occasional background noise you would associate with living near an airport. The fireplace isn't even aesthetically pleasing in any way. The "Bonus Feature" campfire was actually marginally better than the feature, which is the only reason I scored the Extras as a 2. Normally I associate sitting by a fire as a relaxing experience, which is why I was nearly jolted out of my chair when the unnaturally hyper carols started playing at what sounded like 1.5x speed. Overall I was left with a bad taste in my mouth and thoughts of what useful and enjoyable things my $18 with tax and shipping could have brought to my door. There is a reason this is one of the few Fireplace Blu-Rays that aren't on back order... So would I recommend this to a friend? I wouldn't even recommend it to an enemy... Buyer Beware! You have been warned.
