Love this movie!! I remember watching this in my younger years. So funny. This was my 1st time seeing Robert Townsend, Keenan and Damon Wayans. I can tell that Daman Wayans was inspired from this movie when he brought the hilarious TV show In Loving Color. The characters and skits are all hilarious and still stand up by current views. One of my favorite scenes is when Keenen was at a dance studio and he was dancing and his Jerry Curl juice was flying everywhere. Robert Townsend came in and started pouring out his Curl Activator on the floor while interrogating him about a murder. Keenan's curl started shrivaling and drying up. HILARIOUS.
I highly recommend this film.

This is one of my favorite films from director/writer Robert Townsend. Bobby (played by Townsend) has high hopes that he will escape the drudgery of "Winky Dinky Dog" hot dog stand and make it in Hollywood. Since Bobby is (obviously) black, that means the only type of role available to him is as a jive talking (and walking) street gang member. In this particular case, he's a gang member on the wrong end of a knife held by another gang member, but the upshot is clear: casting choices for men of color are severely limited. This movie speaks on those typecasting of Black men and Black women, offering commentary on what Blacks have been dealing with since Hollywood's inception and in some ways, continues to this day. You'll laugh and you'll think. A great combination.
PQ and AQ for this title from Olive Films are okay. A decent HD presentation. No extras and I would say that the ONLY problem I have with this release is that there's no subtitles for the hard of hearing.
A good purchase for fans and anyone who is curious about the film (be prepared for the detective story, lol).

This movie is an easy one to enjoy over and over again. I have watched it half a dozen times and laugh and feel burned every time. Over every viewing I feel that this film has fun characters,

All I gotta say is remember the scene when all the main characters where at work at the hot dog stand. WINKY DINKY DOG. If that don't make you laugh your probably dead.
