Good movie for a family viewing. A bit too much of tear-jerking though.

I find this movie to be one about all the emotional complications that occur during the hectic Thanksgiving holiday filled with terrific performances by great stars. Holly Hunter & Robert Downey Jr. are sister & brother in this movie, who display their love for eachother, and depend on that love to keep them sane during all the insanity that their family displays. Also starring Dylan McDermott, Anne Bancroft, Charles Durning, and Steve Guttenburg plus many others are so entertaining in their family roles that makes for a hilarious event that you'll want to see every Holiday Season!!

If anyone ever asks me what my favorite Holiday movie is. It is not Miracle on 34th Street. I saw this movie at a time in my life when I could really relate to Holly Hunter and Robert Downey's character. This movie has humor, heart, and a Family I can definitely relate to. If you have never seen this movie I highly recommend it.
And for $3.99 can you really go wrong?

What's the Point

At the end of the film Claudia asks Leo, "What's the point"? And Leo responds, "There is none." Exactly. That 15 seconds sums up this wasted two hours of my life. This is the story of a dysfunctional family, who go completely out of control on Thanksgiving Day, for no particular reason, except that they are all a bunch of narcissistic morons. Evidently, there are people in this world who enjoy watching that sort of madness, as this film has an average rating of 4.5 stars. I suppose one would have to watch this to see if they agree. As for me, it will go down as one of the worst, pointless films I've ever seen. It doesn't even deserve the one star I had to give it.

Gave this to a friend who’s a 2nd year psychology major. After watching she said the acting was great even though the script was not as tight as it could have been.

I didn’t find this appropriate for kids, really meant for adults. Though seeing these actors in their younger years was fun I didn’t care for the story line or it’s presentation. Just not my kind of movie.

I purchased this movie thinking it would be a fun Christmas movie to add to our collection. It had a promising cast, but it was very depressing and we couldn't get through it.

The movie is slow moving. There were a number of actors in the movie which kept you interested. It was interesting that the film was shot in Baltimore.

There are other classic comedy holiday movies such as Christmas Vacation that I can watch every year. This one was okay.
