The only thing that bugs me somethings the bluetooth cut from my Nvidia Shield abruptly, not sure why. But other than that it's the best bluetooth speaker I ever own.

Grab while still availabe. Beats Nest hands down.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Sound quality, Speaker qualityGoogle Home Max has 3.5mm, much better sound, and is ~$145 (open box)-$180 (new) now. I have 2 Max stereo setups and have been simply blown away. Since the "open box" purchases I made on Ebay came without the magnetic rubber pads I also added small foam audio isolation pads sold on Amazon that decouple the speaker from the surface they sit on, and they improved the sound even more. Maybe even better than the rubber pads would have. Max beats Nest Audio easily, hands down, in sound, and has the wired 3.5mm input. Max is now officially discontinued as of this month (Dec 2020) in favor of the Nest Audio so I'd hurry and scoop up the Max while you can. Google says they plan to continue supporting the Max (updates, etc).

Great on sale
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I think my expectations were too high. I have a few Google Homes and Nest Audios, which I think sound pretty good. I'm not a fan of the sound from the Google Home Mini. I got the Home Max on sale and was expecting it to sound significantly better than the Home/Nest Audio. It does sound better (more full), but not as much as I had hoped. I do have it in a larger room than the Home/Nest Audios, so there is that difference which may be more significant than I'm thinking. I haven't compared it directly with the Home/Nest Audios in the same room. I would still recommend the Home Max if you can get it on sale, otherwise, just go with the Nest Audio.

GREAT SPEAKERS WITH SOFTWARE ISSUE
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Digital assistant, Sound quality, Speaker qualityCons mentioned:Bluetooth, Control with phone, Use with apple productsI want to start out with saying I bought two of these speakers to pair for my entertainment system. There were cheaper options, but I like the ability to have google built in. Now here comes the review. The speakers sound great and look great in the way they are setup in my entertainment center. They are Bluetooth capable and their lies the problem. The speakers by themselves play great and have no issues (using Spotify). The issue is when you connect the speakers through audio cable or through bluetooth using you're phone, iPad or TV there is a notable lag in audio. The lag is software and google is aware of the issue according to multiple forums. When connected through bluetooth to your TV and you’re watching a movie the last thing you want to SEE is the words from actors before you HEAR them through the speakers. The sound is wonderful, but this lag is annoying considering 399.99 per unit. Just keep this in mind if buying for entertainment or a DJ or anything that will make a lag in audio a huge deal breaker.

Best smart home speaker I own hands down.
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The sound is great and fills the room really well. Has deep rich bass and when paired with my second home max it really is a different experience. The assistant makes turning things off and on that much easier and integrates well with all my other smart home products. If they are still available when you read this review I would definitely get one. It has been discontinued but it is well worth the buy at it's current discounted price.

Powerful speaker
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Purchased to replace an original Google home. That did the job as far as automation but was weak in terms of sound quality. This is quite a bit larger but really packs a punch sound wise that fills my family room. I use it primarily for streaming from Spotify. I think Google is phasing this out for the smaller Nest Audio, but the max has much more power, recommend you can find it on sale.

Massive Speaker
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendThis speaker is massive. It was bigger and much heavier than I thought it would be. But it offers great sound! I use at as my computer speakers, my default speaker for a google nest screen device and I cast to it with my phone.

Good but could be better
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Sounds great. One thing that is irritating is it disconnects from WiFi once in a while and you have to set the system up again. There is no way to play your own music library except through Bluetooth on another device. There should be a way to attach your own music library (maybe on a portable hard drive) and have the unit access it

Smart Home for Elderly Person

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This Smart Speaker rocks. Purchased for 80+ year old mother in-law who doesn't see to well to make her life a little. Connected to Nest Thermostat and other smart switches. A bit pricey yet well worth it. Mother in-law loves it.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Bass, Digital assistant, For playing musicThe sound is simply stunning! Perfect Bass, treble, and mida. Don't even know what else to say other than that. You can get it setup and running in under 5 minutes. You can stream music from Spotify and Google (YouTube Music, YouTube, and Google Play Music). You can stream/cast from your phone or just tell Google what to play. You can also connect to it as a Bluetooth speaker for other music like iTunes and others if you want, but WiFi streaming (Spotify and Google) is definitely the best.

Great Smart speaker
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Digital assistant, For playing music, Sound qualityWe purchased two of these to pair with a Nest Hub Max, so we could control devices or listen to music from everywhere in the house. It was easy to set them up, and to make a speaker group so that all three devices play music simultaneously. Sometimes one speaker won't begin playing immediately, perhaps a wifi issue. I have found that if I just let the other two play, the third one will usually begin, properly synced with the other two, in just a few minutes. Sound quality is excellent, and can easily fill any room in my house. These are stereo speakers, with both channels present, although obviously, separation isn't great with both channels built into the same house. They CAN be set up as separated stereo speakers in the same room. Google is responsive, we just say "Hey Google, play some (name of artist) and she'll find something on Pandora for us. Other commands might be "Hey Google, what is the weather like?", or "Hey Google, how is traffic going to work?".....really just scratching the surface here, trying to give you an idea how you might use one of these. We're very pleased with ours, they sound great and other than the occasional issue with one speaker not starting immediately, they work fine and are easy to use. I happened to catch them on sale at 50% off, which I thought was a pretty good deal, and helped me decide to go ahead with the purchase.
