Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Home Max Smart Speaker's sound quality, particularly its bass and volume. Many also found it easy to set up and use, praising the Google Assistant integration. However, some customers noted that the speaker's size and weight are significant drawbacks, and a few experienced issues with Bluetooth connectivity. The price point was also a source of some negative feedback.

Does exactly what I wanted it to do, play music!

It took months to rip, tag, and upload my 1000+ cd collection (in mp3 format) to my google music account. I have two other google home devices, but they did not sound that great. I like it loud, and clean. My tastes in music run from KISS to Soft Cell. Classical to PUNK ROCK. Oldies like Elvis and Patsy Cline. This speaker sounds great. You can tweak the bass and treble with the home app. I now have a great sounding WiFi jukebox that plays everything in my collection with just the sound of my voice. "Hey Google, play MY HIT PARADE 1950s playlist".

I really like the sound of the speaker and how easy it is to ask for songs to play. The speaker is very heavy but I worry if I put it on its side it may tip over and dent or break. So far, worth the purchase, especially at the discounted cost of $150.

Had been wanting one ofnthese for a while and finally took advawof a nice price drop from Black Friday. I have this in the living room of my apartment and the sound is amazing. My apartment is a little less than 900 sq/ft and this unit fills the entire apartment with clear crisp sound. I couldnt be happier with the purchase. I haven't used the bluetooth to TV feature, so i can't speak on the reported delays, but i can assure you that Casting works with mo issues. I cast from both an Android and iPad and have no complaints. I haven't been able to get to Max volume simply because the unit gets really loud, but highs are clear and the bass lows are very very good as well.

This was bigger than it looks, and it's weight surprised me. As well did the sound, deep rich bass, and crisp mids, and highs. Sits at our bar in the dining room. I am extremely happy with it, and will most likely get another.

It was between this and a Sonos Play 5. After finding out the Sonos doesn't do Bluetooth () I returned it. Enter the Google Max. I have an unusual application where it is paired to a Fire HD 10 tablet mounted to my kitchen wall acting as an intercom replacement for my intercom as it's connected to Ring. This gives me a perfect blend of Alexa and Google Home rolled into one. The sound is Amazing! Better than the Play 5 IMO. The bass completely fills the kitchen and into the dining room. I ask it to play meditation music as i cook and it really sets the tone (no pun). I'm thinking of buying another to place at the other side of the kitchen for stereo sound at some point and I'm not even that big of an audiophile.

Sounds better than I expected for the size. Assistant Voice sound much more natural than any other home, sounds pretty lifelike. Gets loud without distortion. But not like everyone is saying that 'it gets so loud it's uncomfortable' not true. It gets loud enough to not need to be louder, but not unbearable (I'm not deaf either). Sounds good enough I tend to just use this for music instead of my home theater setup (bout average home theater setup). It just sounds good enough and is such a big convenience to just use my voice to get playing music instead of having to use a remote to get the HT playing music. Also, it hears your voice (most of the time) eerily well with loud music.

I learned after I purchased this that google was discontinuing this product. I almost cancelled the order, but I’m glad I didn’t. It works like the other google smart devices, but the speaker and sound quality are on a whole new level. It gets very loud and very “bassy” while maintaining good sound quality. Would highly recommend. I bought during Black Friday. Half off was definitely a great deal

Sounds clear, bass is good and speaker microphones work well, although you may have to raise your voice from another room to get it to hear you(not yell). The information it provided when talking to it is super helpful. Can definitely be your outdoor speaker for a LARGE party. It's awesome. Google assistant is AWESOME with a huge selection of music playlists as well. It is expensive yes but far from overpriced

The sound is simply stunning! Perfect Bass, treble, and mida. Don't even know what else to say other than that. You can get it setup and running in under 5 minutes. You can stream music from Spotify and Google (YouTube Music, YouTube, and Google Play Music). You can stream/cast from your phone or just tell Google what to play. You can also connect to it as a Bluetooth speaker for other music like iTunes and others if you want, but WiFi streaming (Spotify and Google) is definitely the best.

The sound is great and fills the room really well. Has deep rich bass and when paired with my second home max it really is a different experience. The assistant makes turning things off and on that much easier and integrates well with all my other smart home products. If they are still available when you read this review I would definitely get one. It has been discontinued but it is well worth the buy at it's current discounted price.

I originally bought the Apple HomePod. But it disappointed me. So I returned it and bought this instead. The speaker sounds great and does a whole lot more and beyond than the HomePod. Works great with google play music and syncs with my tv and other speakers for full house surround sound. The kids love it too always asking questions and playing the game show when you say “ I’m feeling Lucky”. I definitely recommend.

Purchased to replace an original Google home. That did the job as far as automation but was weak in terms of sound quality. This is quite a bit larger but really packs a punch sound wise that fills my family room. I use it primarily for streaming from Spotify. I think Google is phasing this out for the smaller Nest Audio, but the max has much more power, recommend you can find it on sale.

We purchased two of these to pair with a Nest Hub Max, so we could control devices or listen to music from everywhere in the house. It was easy to set them up, and to make a speaker group so that all three devices play music simultaneously. Sometimes one speaker won't begin playing immediately, perhaps a wifi issue. I have found that if I just let the other two play, the third one will usually begin, properly synced with the other two, in just a few minutes. Sound quality is excellent, and can easily fill any room in my house. These are stereo speakers, with both channels present, although obviously, separation isn't great with both channels built into the same house. They CAN be set up as separated stereo speakers in the same room. Google is responsive, we just say "Hey Google, play some (name of artist) and she'll find something on Pandora for us. Other commands might be "Hey Google, what is the weather like?", or "Hey Google, how is traffic going to work?".....really just scratching the surface here, trying to give you an idea how you might use one of these. We're very pleased with ours, they sound great and other than the occasional issue with one speaker not starting immediately, they work fine and are easy to use. I happened to catch them on sale at 50% off, which I thought was a pretty good deal, and helped me decide to go ahead with the purchase.

This speaker does the same thing as the google mini and regular google home. . .the difference is in the sound quality that comes from the speaker. Its a premium speaker with premium sound. When you play music, you will feel the bass and the sound fills the room waaay more than the mini or regular google home. I loved my google home so much, I bought my mom, dad and sister a google home, So they too can enjoy everything it has to offer. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Amazing sound quality! It's big and heavy but once you hear the sound it produces, you'll see why. I am an Apple fanboy but hate Siri and the limited speaker options. I already have a nice collection of Google Assistant speakers and decided to include this one when it was on sale, totally worth it. Overall all the speakers I own, this is the best sounding one. My only complaint is the cloth, I hope over time it doesn't get dirty.

This speaker is one of the greatest out there. I have multiple speakers throughout my home from sound bars to Harmon kardon speakers and sonos. This google max compares to all of them very greatly it has good bass ranges and clear sound even when you blast the music all the way it does not sound scratchy or staticky. As a voice a distant it does everything it is suppose to we love our google home collection at home!

I really love the way these speakers sound, rich bass and no distortion at high volumes. I have set them up in a group with my little google home and they play music together. I would love to have a way to connect them to my tv. I am researching the best way to do it. Hopefully google with come up with some easy methods.
