My wife and I have had our share with smart speakers in the past. We never had any trouble with the Alexa or the Echo and didn't expect this Google smart speaker to disappoint so much. We love Google products but this is unacceptable. Our Google Assistant goes off in the middle of the night with alarms that neither of us ever set. It also began talking randomly responding to an inappropriate question that was never asked... Additionally, this smart speaker is not able to understand clearly even with the mic sensitivity all the way up. There is always a recent search history in an Asian language, and the speaker will randomly play Chinese music, we are not Asian. Perhaps a neighbor tapped into out speaker somehow or our Google has been hacked. These issues have made me lose my patience and I will not be using the device like my other smart speakers.

...And I'm surprised that this is one of the few places online where you can actually leave a review. I did not purchase from BB, but this product is absolutely awful (and Google's site doesn't let you leave reviews). I ask it to play one thing, it plays another, and so loudly that I find myself screaming: HEY GOOGLE to try to get it to hear me to stop. Also I'll ask it what time it as, as I'e done many times before, and she'll say: I don't know how to help with that. Also, if you have a google phone it's even worse, because every time you say: Hey Google, your phone and any/all speakers will light up or try to respond, and you'll never get the result you want. I bought one years ago and then Google sent me a free one over the holidays for being a Pixel user, but I really hate them and am just waiting to pawn them off on someone so I can get an Alexa.

I loved my Mini when I first got it. Would give it 5 stars had they not released a crippling update. Google Home devices (not just the Mini) cause you to intermittently lose your WiFi connection. I'm not talking once a day. I'm talking ALL DAY LONG. I work from home. I have to unplug the Mini or I am constantly losing my WiFi connection. Search for the WiFi bug and you'll see an explanation for what I'm talking about. Until they fix this, I'll be using my Amazon Echo, which works flawlessly. If they take longer than a week to fix it, I am throwing the Mini in the trash.

Great if it's working. Constantly drops, needs a great router system. Horrible if trying to use Samsung phone. Have to pull battery out to switch from wifi to blue tooth speaker. Do not recommend.

1) Unable to voice match with my phone, making me having to repeat "OK, Google" a few times over before it ever responds. It completely ruins the experience. 2) Does not work on a guest wifi network. 3) Vanishing features. One particular feature I really liked was a "sleep routine" where I'd be able to set my phone on silent using the Mini. 1 week later Google roles out an update forcing you to use your phone for that specific routine. Hmm, thanks Google for fixing that.

On the off chance you actually get music playing on this piece of garbage, it won't be on for long. I have reset it. I have cleared the cache. I have verified he software an the app was current. I have verified I have lined my audio channels to the home mini. I have done EVERYTHING Google claims will help and it still stops playing after 2 songs at most. I can only conclude the music is interfering with their listening to every d@mn word I say and so they shut off the music to get a clearer recording.

Im rating the product not this website to make this clear. I got my home mini for free from spotify in the mail. Now i know why its free. this speaker disconnects on its own more often than not. i have reset it several times and still the same problem. I had to buy me a new bluetooth speaker that actually works. My advice .... dont waste your money on the google home mini. is trash. I know i got it for free but still... this is a product i wont spend a dime on.

Rotten little speakers. Read all the problems before buying. Constantly disconnecting from wi-fi. Won't stay connected even for a full day. Google knows they had defective software and there is no fix. Customer service (google, not BestBuy) repeats the same old "disconnect and reconnect, or turn off and on" for a solution. It doesn't work, they are going in the garbage can.

I've had this for over two years, never once has it worked properly with spotify. (casting from pixel 2xl) It works if you ask it to play something but you have to use your phone if you want to play your playlists. It will constantly try to connect but never will, and recently it's been changing the song I was listening to and starting a radio station when I try to play a playlist.

These things are a joke. They disconnect every 2 to 3 minutes. I’m trying to paint my darnhouse and the thing keeps disconnecting. Seems like a easy fix to me. I see I’m not the only one with this complaint. Goodbye google home and hello Alexa. It disconnected while typing this. Ugh

I loved the product until it started occasionally not waking me up for work. I called support and they kept having me restart the device which is useless. In the end it was a software issue, but it still has not been fixed. I asked google for my money back per their warranty and they refused. They caused me all sorts of issues and could care less about my business. Google no more.

I mostly use this as a speaker to place music as it rarely responds to my voice. Even that doesn’t sync properly! It’s constantly disconnecting itself from my Spotify account. The music or podcast will just randomly stop. Not worth it and I got more with a free promotion.

It’s fine for what it was but there was always an error

Probably the most annoying and inconvenient ever. I bought two Google lights for this mini and amount of times that it randomly disconnects and I have to hard reset both lights is making me go crazy. Setting up the mini itself is so long and annoying and it does not work half of the time.

If you check internet, you can see how problematic connecting wifi. I can only use this device as a bluetooth speaker and even just for it i have to connect its own wifi. If they give it to me for free i wouldn't take it. Waste of money.

My initial impression I thought I would like it better than Alexa but Google Home doesn’t understand my accent most of the time. After my frustrations of the first day I unplugged it. If you have a slight country accent, buy it on Best Buy so you can take it back if it doesn’t understand you.

This is the second one I've purchased. No luck on my end. It works the first week and then from there on it resets 3 to 4 times a day. I have to set up new device and factory reset all my smart appliances to integrate the devices.

As much as I love Google, I'll pass on this product. I had to return two different ones to the store. The connection would go in and out. Causing the speaker to stop working. I was so irritated that I got my money back. I'll never buy this product again.

I’m not sure what google heard but it started reading something totally inappropriate to my children. Kinda annoying anyway without a subscription to music streaming. I’m unplugging for good.

Bought 4 units two broke. 5 months so far got no-were with Philippines support team. 1st you will speak with tear 1 then tear 2 teams and then they will say they are waiting on solution.
