The game looks good, with a cool concept ala RedDawn. But it is repetitive and not as polished as some other 1st person shooters. The game is really a 3-3.5 star game but the beautiful steel case elevates it to 4 stars specially because when I purchased it, it was on sale for $10. Not worth $40 in my opinion but it is worth $25 or less. Hope this helps someone on the fence.

Cool game that comes with a steelbook. Under $10 which is a steal.

I liked how the story progresses and the game play is pretty awesome.

It has been one whole year since this game came out, and the launch problem pushed me away until recently picked it up in Best buy, now I threw 5 hours in, wow, this game is awesome, all bugs fixed, the frame rate on PS4 is stable, and the whole world and weapons are stunning, especially with this price, and with the steelbook? You got to get this.

A good game especially since it was so cheap for a steel book version. The game plays like most first person shooters where you need to acquaint yourself to the controls but once that is complete it is a fairly immersive shooter. It is true that the campaign is quite short but for what it's worth the game Is definitely enjoyable.

This is a great deal, not such a great game but it could have been better giving a extra year or 2 to work on it, decent game tho ive ran out of games to play and this one has been filling the void. Steel book for 10 bucks is a come up on any gamers collection.

I only paid $10 for this game, and even then I felt a tad ripped off by the experience. The only saving grace of the title is the gun modification system - that lets you change weapons from one archetype to another on the fly. Otherwise, it's a poor mans Far Cry 3, 4, Blood Dragon rip off with less emphasis on story like the original - and more on exploration. Which would be fine, but you're constantly tasked with taking down outposts and other resistance like things to help progress. It gets old too fast, and there's a lot of mechanics here that would be entertaining without the open world aspect - the original Homefront was a cinematic decent FPS game that drove home the situation - this is well, once again - Far Cry in a peanut shell. Far Cry wins the argument with suburb gun play and more open spaces to combat opponents, where this title revolves mostly around funneling enemies and waiting your timer out before moving 10 steps and doing it again.

Game has good ideas, but still has bugs/technical issues to work out

I played briefly, the first Homefront game and hated it. After seeing the video for the newest game in the series, I thought it was worth a buy. It's a decent game, with hokey voice acting and not on the same level as some of the finer games, but it's not bad.

I hadn't seen the gameplay or trailer for this game so i just went on a limb here since i had played the first Homefront game a couple years ago. For the price it was a good purchase since i really like the game. Its something different from COD and BF.

When this game first came out it not even close to being ready and was a mess but the devs stuck with the game and after numerous patches its actually a playable game now and can be fun.. think of Farcry in an urban setting and there you go.

Was a pretty good story line besides the fact, that your not really in a rebellion cause you ARE the rebellion. Almost all objective's are done by you with berly no assistance. Overall great game but id recommend the value at 20-30 dollars.

I played the first one and loved it so I was looking forward to this one coming out and make sure to pick it up it is a little different than the first game but it is still definitely worth playing I would recommend at least renting it.

I was able to get this at a great price at Best Buy in the metal box. Reading reviews, I was hesitant, because they complained about framerate issues and massive slowdown at times, among other issues. I've finished the game, and I'm glad to say that the only "glitch" I found was at one point, I was standing against a wall, and the enemy was able to shoot me through the wall and cause damage. Other than that, no framerate issues or any other odd glitches. This game was great both gameplay and graphic wise. I'd highly recommend it, but just be sure to download the 8GB 1.11 (or later) patch before playing. That takes cares of all the issues.

When the original Homefront came out, I was very excited about it and played it through the campaign several times. The online PVP part of that game lacked a lot of things so I really didn't get into it. I was so disappointed when they took the servers down. In this NEW Homefront, the graphics are much better, the campaign is quite challenging and the online game play is how I really like to play...cooperative! I like the smaller squads, the limited weapon types available to the player, the idea of having to plan and sometimes improvise your tactics in order to complete the mission, and the sheer fact that it is you against the AI.
