Customers express satisfaction with the 450 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner's cooling power and its ability to cool their entire apartment quickly. They also appreciate its easy setup and portability. However, some customers find the noise level to be a bit loud on the high setting. Additionally, it requires a window to be open in order to use it, which may not be ideal for all users.

It's a little more expensive than a window unit, however I like the fact that it is portable. It has caster wheels on the bottom which work well on a wood floor. It is a bit heavy so moving it on carpet or up and down stairs is a challenge. Works well for one room or small living area. It's not obnoxiously noisy, however it's a bit louder than I would like for a bedroom while sleeping.

Ahhh good ol' summer of 2017! Think that's a great start for this review. Record setting heat temps in local area since 15 yrs ago. This AC unit is a slice of coolness I highly recommend! (Read the Instruction Book!) I had it set-up fairly quickly. It works outstanding, & talk about blowing very cold air... it does that too! :) My windows slide horizontally, not vertically. Set-up was quick, the little plastic pins that are suppose to 'hold' the three window pieces together.. worthless, toss 'em!
So, here are some tips.... First, on the window itself, along with the window framing, use sticky-backed window installation, Cut to size for window itself, & inside window frame. Peel the protective backing off & adhere. (Keep the protective tape on the upper & lower (or sides, if your windows open vertically) pieces. This way you can remove the exhaust tube vent & still be able to close the window). Instead of using those 2 little push-in pins to hold the 3 pieces together... use small zip-ties to keep the pieces together! (Make note, on ALL 3 pieces, there are multiple holes, make sure you have ALL 3 window pieces w/ the multiple holes on one side!! Very important!) Next, once fitting is good, look on other side of the 3 window pieces.. you'll notice a single hole on 2 pieces. Get your cordless drill out, find right size bit to drill through the single holes (there are 2). Zip tie those as well. Now your window piece is solid, no wiggling, curving, etc. .Place the exhaust vent into window & close window. To keep it a very tight seal, use the window locks, the kind that screw to the window framing. I used 2, upper & lower. Nice tight seal, no outside heated air is coming in! Yeah!!
I highly recommend you reading the manual. As you will have to drain condensation from the unit. When draining, unscrew bottom plug & remove (mine is red) the rubber plug. Drain, place rubber plug back into place & screw plug back on. Be careful not to over tighten.... it's plastic to plastic. I placed 1x2's under my unit's wheels to allow for air circulation under unit, as well as it makes it sooo much easier to get a small pan (I'm using the small drip pan from my toaster over ;) to drain the condensation from the unit). And there you have it!! AWESOME UNIT!! And yes, us women can do it all...lol!
Highly recommend this A/C unit!! Also purchased the 4 year Geek warr.~ fix or replace @ N/C!!

This air conditioner is a nice unit. It cooled down my living room within a few hours and maintains good temperature, but there is lots to be desired. The unit is very costly for a 10,000 BTU unit. It can be loud, not disturbing, but enough noise that my Amazon Echo is unable to listen for commands while it is on. The vent hose for the unit is ridiculously short! Any movement has the entire vent coming out of the window, which had happened at least 3 times already. Sometimes the buttons don't get you to the cooling setting you were expecting, but powering it off and then back on helps. On the good side, I have been able to integrate this with my Logitech Harmony for wireless control through my phone including turning the unit off/on and changing the temperature. The function toggle doesn't work, but the most important parts do. While I would recommend this unit to friends and family, I would also encourage some shopping around for better units in the same price range.

We have enjoyed this Portable AC unit. It works as advertised. My only issue with it is this: I would have liked to see the unit shut off when the desired temperature was reached, rather than kicking into a fan mode and continuing to run constantly (thus driving the cost of operation up). Otherwise, this is a great unit.

This was for my master bedroom. It was impossible to sleep upstairs the AC just couldn't cool the whole house evenly so I bought this product. It is very helpful. It does run off and on all night even with the doors closed and the regular AC on- very much a testament to how hot the bedroom gets. It is noisy but ironically not as noisy as many others. It keeps the room cool and I can sleep even with the noise. I like it because there is no container of water to empty - it evaporates here in Sacramento CA since we don't have much in the way of humidity. I did place it in a plastic container from Tractor Supply just to be safe incase there was water. It was simple to install. I needed a longer block plate but had a piece of plastic cut. From the outside with my sunscreens on you can't even tell there is an AC there.

This product works great!! Purchased it during the hot summer in Georgia when the central AC was broken in my house. Although this was the same brand I intended to purchase they did not have the 12,000 BTU model in store so I ended up purchasing a 10,000 BTU model. It surprisingly has cooled my 500 sf room. It was easy to set up and install, I am not mechanically inclined. When I first turn the unit on and set the thermostat to 61 degrees on high, it cooled the room down to 72 degrees from 98 degrees in less than 2 hours. And within 24hrs it was a steady 65 degrees in my room. This was a great purchase! So far no issues of any kind and I've remained cool & comfortable! The remote is a wonderful feature, I can adjust the temperature/ setting from clear across the room without leaving my bed when I get too cold at night. Another great feature is the timer. I would certainly purchase this unit again, if needed and highly recommend!

This is a great portable unit! I have it in a very hot garage and it is making the extreme heat manageable. The space it is in is over sized for this 10,000btu AC, so it does not bring it down into the 60s or anything...just makes it tolerable. I wish I could hook the condensate drain to it as a permanent option---would have given it 5 stars if that was the case!

Great Portable AC Unit

We bought this for our large-ish master bedroom and it cools it very well. We had to go with a portable AC because all of our windows are horizontal sliders. You'll want to make sure you have a good open area by your window for this thing - it's quite large and heavy. It was easy to install in our window, though the hose is a bit bulky. It's also on the loud side at higher fan speeds. It's not loud enough to bother us, but if you watch a movie or TV show in the same room it could be distracting. The controls are also very simple and easy to understand. It includes a remote, which works well as well. If you have to go with a portable AC I would recommend this one.

Bought it for our second bedroom...works as I expected based on product description and various reviews on Best Buy. I have been using it for a few weeks now and no issues so far. A bit more noisy than a windows AC but not enough to stop a good night sleep.

We use this unit to cool the upper floor of a 4-level, split-level duplex that our central A/C is too old and/or inefficient to adequately cool. This portable A/C does its job nicely. We can cool the floor down from 76 to 71 in about 20-30 minutes using the portable, then turn off the unit entirely.
It's not that loud, but we are glad when we can have it off completely, so we only use it for as long as is needed when the temperature gets uncomfortably warm. We would not want to have the unit running constantly because of the noise.
It was east to set up, easy to vent, and its easy to regularly remove and rinse the air filter to keep it clean.
My wife uses the upstairs as her homeschool office and has not been this comfortable upstairs in many years when the heat and humidity of July and August set in.

I bought this when the AC unit went out in my condo. It more than adequately cooled the second floor. The remote is great, and I love the fact that it has an adjustable timer to automatically turn off. It’s also fairly energy-efficient.
It is a little heavy if you have to move it upstairs. The installation kit is very straightforward and simple to use. I found the enclosed vent pipe was fine to vent the hot air outside. If you do want to position this unit in the center of a room you may want to get a longer collapsible vent pipe available at any Home improvement store. I would buy this again if I needed to and I’m 100% satisfied with the value I’ve received.

Very well made and efficient portable air conditioner. Excellent cooling and dehumidifier functions. Built like a tank with high quality fit and finish. Remote control and on-unit controls for temperature, speed and timed programming were well designed and intuitive. A little noisy on high but so efficient I could use low and medium settings to effectively cool a 600 SF area during the recent 90° + heat wave. Best Buy gave me a 12% price break without me asking as a competitor had published a lower price in the 3 hours between my ordering the unit and picking it up. Excellent product and Customer Service.

This portable AC does exactly what it is supposed to do. It cools my 200ish sq foot bedroom. I set the temperature to 72 and after a few hours (the room was hot) it reached the desired number. And it has stayed cool ever since.
HOWEVER, believe it when people say the window kit doesn't seem to fit average windows. I tried every way to use a pre-created notch in the plastic extension of the window kit with no success. I had to create my own hole just to get the pin to stay in place. Also, no matter what, there won't be a tight seal between the window and the window kit once it is in place. You'll have to find some sort of tape to do that.
Overall I'm satisfied with this product. And although it is slightly loud (no more than a window AC unit), it does exactly what it's supposed to.
