Took it out of the box, plugged it in, no assembly required and it started working immediately. We put it in our bedroom since we wake every morning with nasal congestion. The first morning after running it all night, neither of us had congestion. There is a quiet mode for when you're sleeping, being a light sleeper I have not woke during the night yet from having it running. A blue light for the operating mode lights the room just enough to get around yet doesn't keep you awake. Blue lights at the base can be turned on, (to avoid tripping over it), or off as they can be a little too bright. Multiple settings allow cleaning for multiple pollutants; dust, pet dander, allergies etc. We're very happy with it. We haven't turned it off yet, and yes, you can tell the difference in the air quality. We will be purchasing a few more for other rooms.

i love the clean air smell when i have it running. i plan to get another one in livingroom . i love the timer i set it for 8 hours then go to bed.

Was trying to buy an air purifier that would rid my condo of second-hand smoke coming from a unit that is kitty-corner upstairs from mine. I didn't want to spend a fortune, so was told by my salesman for my AC unit that I should buy a couple of air purifiers--one for bedroom, another for living room. Salesman recommended Hoover, as his company uses their products for some installations. I chose the Hoover Air Genius 4 because of the cost and the ratings. It does clear some of the odor and makes our bedroom better than it was without it, but it doesn't completely rid the room of smoke until the condo owner who smokes leaves her house in the morning, and I let the unit continue running while I walk my dog and make breakfast. Then I move the unit to the living room and let it run for an hour or two to rid the room of the odor.

My wife and I noticed a big difference once we started using this product in our living room. I am breathing much better since I purchased this machine.

This is a great buy for a small space. Turn it on and leave it run. Come back in and smell the fresh air.

Works as designed. Factory odor emits until broken in.

Excellent product that dies a great job in cleaning the air! Whe we furst plugged it in, after 15-20 mins my daughter walks into our house and makes the comment (unsolicited) the room smells fresher!!!

I bought this for our master bedroom after having such good results from the air genius 5 that we bought for the living room.
