I cleaned my bedroom, where I spend most of my time because I work from home, the living room and dining room. This shampooer did an awesome job, my carpets look new !!! I would recomend this item to anyone looking for a shampooer that cleans up after dogs and cats. Its easy to fill up with soap and water, and empty the dirty water from the tank.

Strong dual suction but the compartment where it holds the detergent does not seem to work or mix with the water side at all. You have to pre-mix the detergent with the water on the water only compartment side to make it works.

This machine took out a stain that several steam cleaning companies said was impossible to get out. Easy enough my 9 year old can work it. I like it so much I went and bought the handheld small one that matches this one. No more paying ridiculous fees to car washes to clean my carpets. It's also great for little stains and also stairs. I would Highly recommend this product.

Good value for the money. I bought the cleaner to legal with a large doggy accident. It cleaned very well after spending some time going over the same areas several times.

I had a carpet cleaner that was bought over a year ago and bit the dust. Lucky for me I had bought an extended warranty. Went right into BestBuy and they swapped it out with this beauty of a machine. It was the next step up and $30 more, but totally worth it! This machine feels solid, and I can already tell a difference with the quality. Would definitely recommend this carpet cleaner to anyone!

I absolutely love this product! It was super easy to assemble (less than 10 minutes). Our carpets are very light colored and very stained and it removed almost all the dirt/stains except my daughters red hair dye stains, which I don't think anything would remove that! I loved the dual tanks that mixes the detergent with the water for you. I did not have any problems with this at all like the other review. Overall, this product works great and I would recommend it to anyone. I think you will be pleased with this carpet cleaner.

This unit does a very reasonable job for the price. I have used it on two different types of carpet with good results. It is very straightforward to use.

After several Bissell machines (portable and full), decided to try this unit due to the design of the collection tank and ease of cleaning after use. Excellent performance the first use, did not leave the carpet too wet. It is not truly a steam unit, but cleaned the carpet well (used on a 4x8 high traffic area). 2nd use was with the hose to clean a spot and discovered it was leaking. I thought it may have been something I did because I was getting used the unit. Then used 3rd time and it left the carpet very wet leaving me puzzled. Later I learned it was leaking, but I couldn't see it because it was on carpet. The 4th and final use was a spot again using the hose on an area rug and the unit was located on slate floor. This allowed me to see the significant leak from where the clean water tank attaches to the unit resulting in water dumping on the floor when the handle was released. I had to return the unit due to this issue. The return experience at Best Buy was excellent.

We've owned home carpet cleaners even before we had kids and dogs. I can't imagine not having one with kids and dogs. My last two were Bissels. I'm liking this one better as the water resevoir seems to last longer. Very easy to set up and use and it met my expectations. I haven't used the small head cleaner yet so can't report on that. The water tank is easy to manage and easier to fill than the Bissel was.

This carpet cleaner did great at first. I bought a house and thoroughly cleaned the carpet before moving in. I figured I would buy a cleaner rather than having it professionally cleaned bc I have a young kid (and now puppy) and knew I would need to clean up spills from time to time. Every time I ran it the dirty water tank would be disgusting. It seemed to clean well but after a year it started leaking water from the back. I also noticed there were lots of screws inside the tanks that rusted over time. Seemed like a bad design. Best Buy gave me my money back and I purchased a different Hoover. Hopefully this one holds up better than the last one!

Hi CodingMomma,
We're sorry you were unhappy with the MaxExtract 60. There is a drainage port on the back of the machine to divert water from its internal components. After use, we recommend wiping out the reservoir under the clean water tank. We appreciate you giving Hoover another try and if you have any issues with your new product, please email Ian.McCormick@ttifloorcare.com. Thanks!

This cleaner is fine for average soiled carpet and can be used on a frequent basis. It is very simple to use. I didn't even have to read the manual.

I am so pleased with my Hoover Max!! It was so easy to put together and in no time at all I was shampooing my own carpets. It does an awesome job. It is a great investment for the dollar.

I purchased this unit on 5/12/11 after being advised of all of the qualities of the unit. The unit was very easy to assemble, so I decided to use it immediately. I could notice results right away. The problem was noticed when I went to change the water. My detergent level had not changed!!! I reviewed the instructions for a second time and determined that the directions were followed. The next day I called Hoover, they told me to pump the lever several times before the next use, so I did. It never dispensed the detergent. That same day (5/13/11) I exchanged my unit for the same one and it did the same thing. I called the store thinking I was doing something wrong and was told that if it dispensed water, it should dispense the detergent....Hoover needs to get this one together!!!!!!

Spot cleaning after my dog took alot of effort to get good results. First time I used it for an entire room, it broke. After 4 hours of waiting for customer service to call back, I looked up authorized repair in my area. I took it to one listed as *Hoover Platinum Repair*. There were so many of them waiting for repair they said it would be atleast a week before I got it back, and that was if it didn't need parts. Come to find out, Hoover is now owned in China and it can take 3-4 months to get parts shipped over. This is not a quality company any longer.

I had the previous Hoover model of this for a number of years so when it was time to replace, this was the natural choice. Big mistake. I use it once every couple of months. I have used this maybe 4 or 5 times in the last year and a half or two. This morning, it did a great job putting down the water, but it isn't making a seal for the suction tank. It will if I manually bend down an press firmly on the tank in a crazy acrbatic move, but when I let go to steam the carpet like I'm holding a normal vac it won't pick up. Took me 45 minutes to extract about 4 tablespoons of water. IT GOES IN THE TRASH TODAY!

This was my first experience with a deep cleaner. I decided to go with Hoover because of their reputation. During the first use, I made one pass over an area of carpet. It seemed to do a good job. I emptied the tank and resumed my cleaning. I noticed the brushes were not turning. I started looking for anything obvious, and checked the manual which said to check the filters. They looked clean. To make a long story short, the brush assembly has a cheap plastic pin that is driven by the motor. This pin snapped off. I called Hoover and they said sorry, that part is not covered by their warranty. They wanted to charge me $21 for the part. What a joke. Luckily, Best Buy was more concerned than Hoover and they provided me a refund. I am now looking at other options, probably a Bissell, but will do my homework first.
