We learned of this model in a major consumer reporting magazine and were delighted that it was top rated at a very low price. We bought one for our beach house, it works great. The second came home, and the third is with my daughter in college. Cleans very well, the allergy filter is great and it's relatively light so it's easy to use. The one drawback is the length of the hose for attachments, but this is minor compared to the positive features. You don't know me, but I am telling you the truth when I say that I think you will like this cleaner.

I bought the vacuum cleaner based on everyone's review on the Best Buy website. Everyone's comments have been accurate. It's a great vacuum cleaner that has excellent suction on dirt and hair. The cons is that the vacuum cleaner is loud and the hose is flimsy that it could pour out the dirt. I had to tape the hose to lock it into place otherwise, a twist of the hose can cause it unlock from it's slots. The weight could be a little bit less, but for the price you really can't go wrong! Plus it's reviewed and tested by Good House Keeping!

Seems to work very well. Cat hair, dust, etc. disappears with one pass. They were nice enough to include all the attachments. I read that people complained the noise level was high but so what. Cord length is good, ease of changing the bag a plus, too. Two screws and it is put together. My only gripe is that its construction is a little flimsy. I sure it (barely) meets the minimum requirements in that respect. But, for the price and the performance it is worth buying. No more bagless vacs for us. What a pain in the butt that was. Just don't ram it into the wall too hard or toss it around like a sack of dirty laundry after use and it should hold up for a couple of years.

I just bought this vacuum last week. I've been using the bagless vacuum's and have gone through 3 in the past 4 years. I decided to come back to Hoover with bags and it's the best decision I've made! This product is so lightweight and quiet when I vacuum. I actually enjoy vacuuming again. The suction is amazing and I would recommend this to anyone that is in the market for a new vacuum. Hoover really stands up to their name...I'll never use another name brand again.

I got new carpet that has a long pile and my Bissell Pet Hair Eraser (for twice the price of the Tempo) just didn't work on it. But the Tempo has GREAT suction and beating action so now my carpet looks great! I LOVE this vacuum and got a GREAT price. I've only had it a couple of weeks and haven't had any problems with the belt like some posters have, but even if I have to replace the belt a couple of times a year it is still the best vacuum and the best value.

Easy to handle, cleans the floor well, but it is a liitle loud. It does a good job over all.

I bought this vacuum for my 84 year old mother. Its light weight was a big bonus. It has extremely powerful suction and the beater bar brush is extra good at sweeping up most anything in its path. Mom doesn't have any pets so I don't know how it would fare against pet hair. The only shortcomings are the lack of a headlight and a somewhat short, stiff hose for attachments. Mom says no headlight is OK as she doesn't plan to vacuum in the dark. The hose and extensions will still reach to an 8 foot ceiling but higher ceilings may be more of a problem.

So far the suction is great and it picks up the dirt very well. The pricing on the vacuum is also great instead of buying a very expensive one if price is really a issue, but other than that it does the work. I even bought some extra bags and havent used them. The hoses isn't any great because it doesnt stretch long enough because when I'm trying to vacuum my car its always getting stuck and seem to break if I pull it a little bit more harder. The only concern I have is that the suction is so great why doesnt my bag get full since I've already vacuumed with it at least 10 times...and I always empty my dyson at least once everytime I use it. Kinda contradicting.

Bought Vacuum over three month ago and it has been a great replacement for my old Hoover Eureka. The Vac is light weight and will be impressed with its power. The on/off switch could have been more accessible and power cord hooks are a bit awkward but overall it is a great buy.

In the two minutes that we used it, this unit did actually seem to pick up dirt fairly well. However, there was some sort of air leak that produced a continuous high pitched noise and caused dust to build up on the inside of the bag cover. And speaking of the bag cover, it is a major pain to put take off and put back on.

I just moved on my own to an apartment and the carpeting is new. I wanted a good vacuum but did not want to spend "Dyson" money for use in a apartment. I researched and came across this beauty. I read the reviews here and decided to make the purchase. What a great deal! The suction on this very inexpensive vacuum is phenomenal! I've been using it for several months now and it picks up dirt like you wouldn't believe. No pets or children so that makes life for this vacuum a lot easier I would think. It is a little loud and the hose is very short so using the attachments can be a challenge. But for the price I paid, these shortcomings are tolerable. The quality is ok but again, for the price?.... Looking to see how it holds up over time. Looking for a good, inexpensive, light/med duty vacuum? This is the one to get.

This vacuum is very basic in its performance, no whistles or bells here. Even in its basic function it performs poorly. It does not do a good job picking up dirt. It is also very, very noisy. Be careful if you use it to sweep a rug. It will rip it apart. The attachments are inadequate, and don't seem to have much power.

For an inexpensive unit this Hoover works remarkably well, pulls itself as if it is power propelled. Pulls up dirt with ease, and raises the nap of the carpet. For the money it cannot be beat

I LOVE THIS VACUUM ------I LEAVE THIS ONE DOWNSTAIRS. I AM GOING TO PURCHASE A 2ND FOR THE UPSTAIRS IF THE STORE CAN KEEP 1 ON THE SHELF. I ALSO HAVE AN ORECK THAT I LOVE (ALOT QUIETER) I VACUUM SOMETIMES EVERYDAY, I HAVE 7 CATS AND THEY ARE ALL SHEDDING RIGHT NOW. ALTHOUGH THE ORECK IS GREAT, THE MODEL I HAVE DOES NOT HAVE ON BOARD TOOLS. I UTILIZE THE ONBOARD TOOLS EVERYTIME I GET THIS MACHINE OUT. THE HOSE COULD BE A LITTLE LONGER FOR CEILING HEIGHT. HOOVER DOES OFFER AN EXTENSION HOSE FOR 34.99 BUT I WILL MAKE DO FOR THAT PRICE. FOR ME THE QUALITY OF THIS VACUUM FAR EXCEEDS MY EXPECTAIONS AND I AM USING THIS VACUUM MORE THAN I USE MY ORECK. I ALWAYS BUY HOOVERS, EXCEPT FOR MY ORECK AND THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST IMPRESSIVE HOOVER I HAVE OWNED. I DONT' CARE FOR THE COLOR BLUE AND I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE COVER OR GETTING BAGS. ALSO I VACUUMED OVER AN AREA RUG AS INSTRUCTED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL --NO PROBLEM. I AM DEFINITELY GETTING A 2ND FOR UPSTAIRS MAYBE EVEN A 3RD FOR THE GARAGE.

It does a good job on both carpets and tile floors. However, it is a bit louder than my tank-type vacuum, but does a better cleaning job on deep carpeting than the tank can.

This is an excellent vacuum for under $100. I can think of no reason to spend much, much more for a vacuum that claims superior performance. I would match this vacuum against any vacuum selling for $400, $500 or more. The Hoover Tempo has excellent suction and cleans carpets very well. The tools store conveniently on the back of the unit so it is easy to quickly switch. My only compliant is that I wish the cord was longer. Regardless this is an excellent vacuum at a great price.

I just purchased this a little over a week ago and love it. The suction is great and it is easy to handle. The only draw back is the detachable hose. I wish that it was longer.

I read a ton of reviews about all sorts of vacuums ranging in price from $60-$300. I decided to go with the Hoover after having read great reviews. But what really sold me was the fact that 75% of the "open item" vacuums at BB were Dysons...supposedly the best vacuums out there. I guess not since most of the returned items (of which there were a good number) were Dysons. So far we're happy with our Hoover. And we have 2 cats and an indoor outdoor dog, our carpets practically looked new after seeing all of the fur it had picked up that our previous vacuum wasn't getting!

a great vacuum for the price. it really gets the job done. i was nervous purchasing this vacuum based on the reviews, but i'm glad i did. it has great sucking power.

The vacuum cleaner was bought to replace a Eureka Victory upright that the housekeeper finally succeeded in beating into the ground. This got a very good rating in Consumer Reports so that's why my stepfather and I went for it. I have a head of very long and thick hair that sheds copiously and this vacuum does very well on that. On the Eureka, I had to keep giving the brush "haircuts" after every use. I even had to pull off the end caps to take out the hair that accumulated inside those. The brush on this Hoover accumulates very little hair. It goes straight to the bag. Of course that means that the bag fills up quickly. However, when I was using the extension wands and the dusting brush to clean an overhead air vent, I found myself wishing the extension wands were a little longer.
