Honestly I enjoy the Switch, but usually handheld mode can be a little underwhelming while using the stock joy-cons. This set from Hori solves my issue with handheld play! These happen to be just the right size, and the contour helps them feel like I'm using an actual controller. I don't notice any rattle on the rails either, so that's a plus. The Gengar theme is icing on the cake. I only have two gripes with these, but both are minor. First off, these won't work when detached from the console, but I don't mind since I have other controllers to use when I want to play wirelessly. Second is that I can't seem to properly set up the reassign feature, but I would chalk that up to not reading the instructions... All in all, I love this set. I'd recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone that wants to fully appreciate all play modes on the Switch but feel like joy-cons are too small.

Great balance between the smaller size of the hori split pad pro and newer buttons that feel better. Still lacks rumble which i was hoping for, but over all a solid ergonomic joycon replacement for hand held gaming.

Love the design on the controller and it feels nice to hold, however my only complaint is that sometimes after putting my switch on sleep mode and turning it back on the controller will drift until I restart my switch. This has never happened with my normal joycons. Other than that minor annoyance, it works great and looks awesome.

I love the Hori Split Pad Compact's smaller form factor compared to the Pro (as well as how it's flush with the Switch's screen). If you love the Nintendo Switch Lite's mushy face buttons, you'll love the ones on the Compact. The analog sticks are larger than on joy-cons but not quite as large as on PS/Xbox controllers. The rear back buttons work but are limited to mapping to a button on the same side (left or right). Unfortunately, there's no rumble/gyro/amiibo support either so if those features are dealbreakers for you, then you should look elsewhere. Overall, the Hori Split Pad Compact is a must-have for handheld Switch gamers.

Great for handheld mode. I love the original joy cons, but they are uncomfortable for long play in handheld mode. I debated getting these as I never got "not" Nintendo joy cons. But I am so glad I bought them. These are great for just sitting on the sofa or a trip. No rumble, but you don't always need that for games. The trade-off is worth the comfort.

[Employee of bestbuy] Controllers were extremely comfortable, build quality felt amazing. Buttons were super satisfying to press, joysticks were smooth and had lots of range. No rumbl isnt a huge deal but No Gyro controls is rough especially on games that use it like Zelda BotW or TotK. I also guess I just got unlucky and got stick drift on the first day so I returned them. I never re bought it also because it didnt fit in my portable case. Wish they here built a little tougher.

I love the Split-Pad Compact! It's comfortable to grip and holds well to the task. The buttons click well and engage in gaming, and the turbo is great for button mashing.

These controllers have made me actually enjoy playing my Switch in handheld mode, which I've almost never done since getting it on launch day. They feel good in my hands and the buttons are really nice, the sticks especially. You lose a couple features like rumble, but not a big deal for me. I have small-ish hands so this is perfect for me, but I think they would be fine for larger hands as well. But if you're really worried, just try out the regular-sized Hori Split Pad!

Solid controllers. Thumbsticks feel premium and the buttons feel fine. Overall it’s priced a bit below its actual value. Recommend

I can never go back to regular joy cons again. They are very responsive and holding the switch feels good. I can play for hours without my hands getting tired or numb. They did get some time to get used to, about 3 days but after that it was all good! Keep in mind, these are not wireless and can only be used attached to the switch console.

I picked these up as a more ergonomic option to the standard joy-cons and I was not disappointed! The sticks and buttons feel really solid and everything is very responsive. While I wish it had motion controls and HD rumble, these are small sacrifices for a more comfortable grip during gameplay. Recommended!

They feel great in your hand for when you want to play handheld mode. They feel pretty well constructed and are great if you want something more comfortable than the joy-cons. The reason I’m giving a star off, You CAN NOT map buttons from one controller to the other. They don’t have a battery in them, so not realizing, I bought them with intent to add both the “X and B” buttons to the programmable buttons on the left and right. You can’t do that. So that’s why I’m taking a star off.

Perfect design for any Gengar enthusiast in your life! Makes playing handheld so much more comfortable, and worth every penny. Only downside is that they don’t fit in traditional switch carrying cases so just keep that in mind if you’re the type to travel with your switch a lot.

Great controller set with amazing comfort. Slightly smaller than its counterpart, yet just as sturdy and comfortable. Buttons are responsive and the joysticks are way better than the original licensed joy-cons.

I had carpal tunnel and tendinitis surgery but still left with some issues if I played my games for awhile. I saw these and had to try them out. I have had zero discomfort ever since. They are the perfect item to help if you have any issues like that. Bonus that they are an adorable design

Work great if you have younger kids who just used the switch as a handheld.
