This game really left its mark on me. It’s beautiful, it’s fun, it’s filled with action and intrigue, and the story catches me immediately. Coming back to the Horizon universe was a highly anticipated journey for me, and I’m so glad I played this.

    Brilliantly Crafted Sequel on PS5

Horizon Forbidden West follows up brilliantly on one of the most unique and original new IP’s on the PS4. Many returning characters help Aloy on her journey to the West, which is fraught with dangers from new enemy types and tribal factions. She hasn’t come unprepared, having new skill sets and gadgets to overcome the many obstacles in her path for answers to Project Zero Dawn. Gameplay is revamped and much more customizable and enjoyable. I played this on my LG CX OLED, swapping from quality mode to performance mode depending on what I was doing in the game. Quality Mode is set to 30 FPS but maxes the resolution to a native 4K, while Performance Mode is 60 FPS and 1440P. If you loved the first game as I did, you’ll be blown away by the mystery and story of this next chapter in Aloy’s story!

Amazing graphics, storytelling and gameplay. This is a must play for anyone with a ps5. The still book is amazing and I love the art design. The art books was great to look through to see the design process of some of the machines and characters.

Back when the first game came out I was skeptical. I waited I believe two years to purchase and play. Became my favorite game. I couldn’t wait for the sequel. It didn’t disappoint. Aloy is awesome. Graphics are phenomenal.

    The West Is Forbidden

An absolute masterpiece! Horizon Forbidden West is everything I hoped it would be. The first game had a wonderful introduction to Aloy and her rise to save the world from derranged machines - Now in Forbidden West, her journey continues - Searching for a backup of GAIA to restore the biosphere and fulfill Dr. Sobek's dream. Machines: Some of the classic machines have made a glorious return, seeing them in action again brought a smile to my face. With also an even bigger list of brand new machines, definitely got me by surprise. Skill Tree: The upgraded skill tree in FW is fantastic, so many new options to enhance Aloy's skills - increasing her strength for upcoming battles. Weapons: The new weapons you find in different settlements are astounding - I keep finding better weapons as I progress through the game, allowing me to tackle the more difficult enemies, giving me a powerful edge. Armor: The choices of outfits is vast - Now each selection of clothing has its own stats. No more are they just asthetic, but now they actually provide protection and adding their own extra skill - Each outfit has different stats - Which can be improved by upgrading at a workbench -- AND! You can now change the color of your outfit at a Dye merchant. Upgrades: In FW - Upgrading is essential - You're now given the ability to upgrade your gear as well as your outfits - Strengthening and inhancing your abilities, making you OP as heck. Enemies will be running after they see the heavy gear you're packing Story: The game being bigger than ZD - An impressive 98gb of memory installed onto your console - every gig is worth it - The story is absolutely amazing and just keeps on getting better. The character developement is beautiful - You can't help but feel proud after seeing Aloy and her friends grow - Working together to save the world. Exploration: The world of Forbidden West is huge and it's definitely worth it to slow down and explore. Mount up and take charge, Cauldrons, Side Quests, Machine sites and Rebel bases are everywhere. As well as new settlements occupied by interesting people to say the least. The exploration alone will take you some time to fulfill, but once you take it to the skies, the view is something to be simply amazed by. Overall: This game is beautifully designed - You can tell how much effort was poured into this software - I'm still running through, but I am enjoying every second of it - There are some tear shedding moments, but there are also times of victory and celebrations. I definitely recommend this game; literally to anyone who has inner rage they need to let out -- Or if you just want to escape from reality for 30+ hours.

For $10 more, why would I not upgrade to get a steelbook and artbook? Steelbook is amazing although the lack of a spin title is a missed opportunity. The game itself is dope as heck. The map seems vastly larger than HZD and features a lot more content. But a lot on hand here is been there done that when it comes to side content. Main story is dope though and hand 2 hand combat is massively superior to the first.

Where to start? Massive open world that definitely took years to develop paired with stunning visuals that really show off the platform. I put about 80hrs into thing completing the main story and most of the side quests. I was entertained all throughout. My game of the year so far. Guerrilla really knocked this one out of the park, not surprised why Playstation still considers this a flagship.

While the story is not as good as the first one, it does expand the world and combat and theme. A very worthy succesor to the original Horizon game, very fun game play and gorgeous graphics on the PS5.

What can I say besides just a completely stunning game. So much to do and it doesn’t feel like a chore. The story is so rich with characters returning from the first game and new characters. 100% recommend this game for anyone who likes open world games. Tons of accessibility options to tailor the controls and experience to your liking. Don’t pass this one up.
