As unnecessary sequels go, Horrible Bosses 2 isn’t half bad. Once again Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis play three idiots who try to succeed in business only to get pushed around by the Man until they can’t take it any longer and plot a knuckleheaded revenge caper. In the 2011 original, the boys (let’s face it, that’s what they are) were humiliated by a trio of cartoon workplace sadists played by Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, and Jennifer Aniston, who vamped it up as a s3x-addict dentist chasing Day’s poor Dale around the rinse-and-spit machine. As payback, they planned to whack their respective superiors. It wasn’t a particularly clever movie—and it was only laugh-out-loud funny in spurts—but the three leads had an easy, fast-and-loose chemistry. Bateman’s Nick was the voice of reason, Day’s Dale was the excitable dim bulb with a voice like a hyena caught in a blender, and Sudeikis’ Kurt was the smug wiseass. A shameless rip-off of The Hangover? Sure, but these archetypes have been around since Moe first met Larry and Curly.
Not surprisingly, the sequel sticks pretty much to the formula. Itching to be their own bosses, the guys invent a ”Shower Buddy,” which conveniently dispenses shampoo and conditioner directly from the showerhead. A scheming billionaire (Christoph Waltz, looking like a Viennese Geraldo Rivera) screws them over, so they decide to kidnap his spoiled son (Chris Pine) until… Honestly, the plot’s kind of beside the point. In fact, the least hilarious moments are the ones that director Sean Anders (S3x Drive) puts the most effort into, like a lame, long-winded laughing-gas bit and encore appearances by Spacey, Aniston, and Jamie Foxx, who all should have quit while they were ahead. Instead, it’s the small, tossed-off moments—Bateman’s deadpan mugging, Day’s frenzied cluelessness, and Sudeikis’ smarmy one-liners—that land the best. See what you get for trying too hard?

After having watched the original "Horrible Bosses", I didn't know what to expect since that movie ended with all three of the main characters overcoming their horrible bosses. This sequel, however, is about how Nick, Dale, and Kurt have become their own bosses in their own company - but get done wrong by an investor. It is then where they lead you through a path of bad decisions in order to get their company back!

I really enjoyed Horrible Bosses, but was worried that the Horrible Bosses 2 would not be as funny. Luckily I was wrong, in fact, Horrible Bosses 2 was even more outrageous and crude and funny than the first movie. I liked the fact that they kept the same tone, but had all new jokes and even more great actors to add to the already hilarious cast. It was not only an entertaining and laugh out loud funny movie to watch, but it is going to be a good movie to watch over and over again to hear jokes I missed the first time because I was laughing so hard. A must own movie.

It Wasn't Horrible For A Sequel

As with many sequels, this movie couldn't quite live up to that of the original. While not in contention for any Oscars to be sure, it had its moments but at the end of the day it just couldn't make you laugh as much as the first one did. Its worth a watch if you liked the first one but probably rent it before you buy it kind of movie.

While it is always assumed that the sequel is never as good as the original, it would stand true to this as well but as far as the humor and entertainment value. I still say this is a pretty good movie. As for the Blu-ray, nothing special in way of special features but all in all, I am glad I have this in my collection.

Actually, pretty funny movie at times. Maybe better than the first one. Chemistry between the leads were very good. There was actually somewhat of a plot and a bit of a surprise at the end. A bit crude, but you would expect that from these movies. But, enough laughs and silliness to be somewhat entertaining.

I know a lot of people think sequels are never as good as the first, and while I would have to say this movie fits that description, I would also have to say it wasn't worse than the first one, basically they're equal. I am a fan of crude humor and I do believe this movie delivers in that department.

It was a very funny movie but I kind of wanted to choke dale quite a few times. He sometimes is so stupid, it literally makes you angry. Kind of like the movie "due date". Couldn't watch that movie twice lol too many anxiety attacks. But horrible bosses 2 was very very funny. I enjoyed it a lot

I know that reviews were not glowing for this movie and it would be difficult to top the first one. However, maybe I walked into it with low expectations, or maybe it was just fun and I actually liked it - but I laughed. A lot. I'm glad I bought it. The extras were pretty good too.

Horrible Bosses 2 does what so few comedy sequels are able to do, and that is to live up to the expectations set by its predecessor. While I don't think it surpassed the original (which I thought was hilarious), I thought it did a great job and I give it an A for effort.

I normally don't laugh. I am not a funny person. I watched this because I saw the first one and couldn't remember it but I like the actors. I couldn't stop laughing. I have a min pin and she stayed away from me. I watch my movies on a laptop with headphones so she didn't know what was going on. honestly, if I laughed all through this movie anybody will. GET THIS MOVIE!!!!

Too Much Comedy?

Storyline is okay and the comedy is good, but some of it tended to be a bit overdone. The character contrast between Jason Bateman and his co-stars Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day is too extreme. Stiil a great sequel to the Horrible Bosses franchise.
