I would give the film 4 stars if this was the original cut. Being a horror film, cutting certain scenes, especially if they're gruesome or disgusting, can have a negative effect on the overall experience. This is still a fantastic horror film and a must have for collectors of the genre.

If you are not into a lot of blood and torture then this movie is not for the faint of heart. The Hostel franchise is definitely in a category all of its own. The pair of films both have interesting premises and characters which is why they are so addictive. They are equally frightening and makes me never want to travel or go back packing in another country. Shocking, grotesque, and full of terror. Watch at your own risk.

I have always liked these movies and so when I saw them on Blu Ray and had both movies I was sold. There are sets that have all 3 parts but the third part is terrible and not worth the extra money

Package delivery was good. Upon playing bluray disc (which is supposed to have DTS HD Master Audio 5.1), sound was Dolby Digital 2.0 for both films. Even the DVD I was trying to upgrade has at least Dolby Digital 5.1. The DVD disc included in purchase also had better sound than the bluray versions.
