The movie is a little slow but gets better towards the end. The movie was not overly funny as advertised, but I did find the plot unpredictable and interesting.

    A New Brit Comedy Classic

Director/co-writer Edgar Wright reteams with star/co-writer Simon Pegg three years after the duo's "Shaun of the Dead" for a very funny and very British comedy about a London police officer who is too good at his job. His efficiency makes his fellow officers and even his superiors look so bad that he is transferred to a remote rural village where nothing ever happens. Until people start turning up dead, that is. Wright keeps the proceedings perfectly balanced between Pegg's deadpan by-the-book seriousness and the colorful eccentricities of various village idiots. The script is not only consistently clever but perfectly structured, with a plot that starts out quite low-key but builds to successive levels of outrageousness. Timothy Dalton, as the oily owner of a local supermarket, manages to be both funny and brazenly villainous. Jim Broadbent is the village's top cop, a relentlessly pleasant twit whose dumb-but-good-natured son (Nick Frost) becomes Pegg's partner. If you're a fan of Guy Ritchie's caper movies, Monty Python's Flying Circus or even (believe it or not) the British TV series "Life on Mars," you will love this movie. There's so much going on here that "Hot Fuzz" actually is more enjoyable the second time around, when you'll be able to pick up lots of clever bits of foreshadowing and character detail you may have missed the first time!

    An uproarious comedy/slam-bang action flick

Hot Fuzz stands as one of the funniest films I have ever seen. The casting of the film is absolutely flawless, and of course the crack comedic team of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, which was established in Shaun of the Dead, is spot-on. This time around, Pegg plays Sgt. Nicholas Angel, the best constable in London. He's so good in fact that he's making the rest of the department look bad, so they transfer him to the town of Sanford, where he is partnered up with the head constable's bumbling son Danny. However, things turn interesting for Angel when a string of murders occur, making it his responsibility to get the other townspeople in line and solve the crime. While this may sound like a simple murder mystery, it is in fact a pointed satire of the action film genre, and in its final half hour, Hot Fuzz adopts the very style it paroodies and filling your screen with edge-of-your-seat thrilling action. Don't miss out on this incredible entertainment! This 3-disc edition DVD is the one to get. It's full of great features and documentaries, and not only enhances your knowledge of the film's creation, but also gives you a peek into what it took to reveal it to the public. It's a must-have for anyone who enjoys this film.

    Hot Fuzz

I can't believe it has been almost 3 years since director Edgar Wright's & screenwriter/actor Simon Pegg's zombie spoof Shaun of the Dead became a surprise hit. Wright returns here with Simon Pegg & Nick Frost (the great duo from Shaun of the Dead) in the action spoof Hot Fuzz. Wright pays homage to such blockbuster action flicks like the Die Hard movies, the Leathal Weapon movies the Bad Boys movies, and a handful of other buddy cop flicks. Hot Fuzz combines both the action & grit of those movies to go along with the awesome British humor that Shaun of the Dead brought to the table. As expected, the jokes here are top-notch, the action scenes are surprisingly well done, the comedic timing is perfect & the chemistry between Pegg & Frost is priceless once again. The supporting cast is put together very well. It includes the likes of Jim Broadbent (Moulin Rouge, Iris & Gangs of New York), Timothy Dalton (Licence to Kill & The Rocketeer), Bill Nighy (Love Actually & Underworld) and some other great British actors & actresses. All in all, Hot Fuzz is a must-see for everyone that loved Shaun of the Dead.

WOW, this movie start to finish hilarious, more hilarious than teladaga knights with will farrel. Simon Pegg out did him self with the performance as Nicolas Angel. The two main charachters Nicolas and Danny brought back the classic humor of Shaun of the dead. The movie is a classic comedic laugh out loud as hard as you can until you cray thrill ride that actually leaves you guessing. They threw in a little twist that prolongs the movie even more for more laughs, but the ending is the most ironic and comedic ending that i have never seen before, youll have to listen to words and follow along to know what im talking about. But not to confuse you it i one terrific movie youll regret never seeing if you decide to overlook it.
