movie was funny but I can't believe they will make a sequel

Funny overall. Having lived through the 80's it hit home.

Kinda funny, has it's moments, good for a few laughs

Even though the case promised the unrated version and extra features, only the movie was on the disc, as if the Redbox version ended up getting mislabeled. After doing some research, I found out that this is a common problem due to a bad batch.

This comedy didn't work for me. There are some laughs but too many of the situation seemed more pathetic than funny. It's too bad. It had a real possibility of well done.

Seemed like a good cast of characters and decent premise. The movie did not deliver on the funny and it was barely worth the $1.99 that I paid for it.

The story is put together well. Too much obscenities. At some parts is quite funny and some others disgusting.

Even though I enjoy most Adam Sandler movies, this was not worth the money paid...

I'm going to get something off my chest that may not be a very popular opinion. I did not think that "the hangover" was as good of a movie that everyone says it was. With that being said, "Hot tub time Machine" is a laugh-riot. There were definitely a few laugh out loud moments during this film. Now bare in mind, do not watch this movie and expect Shawshank.... There are no statues to be won for this film, but if you want to open up a few beers and let the brain go for the night, you have found the right movie. For good scares, might I recommend 1408.. have fun....

First off, it seems that people either loved The Hangover and hated Hot Tub Time Machine or vice versa. I fall on the Hot Tub side of the equation. Unfortunately The Hangover did almost nothing for me and I was half expecting the same of HTTM, but was I ever surprised! It made me laugh so hard I had tears rolling at times, and not many films have done that for me. I feel it boils down to a matter of taste in comedy. As far-fetched as the idea of a time machine in a hot tub is, I strangely feel it was more believable than The Hangover. Not that I have issues with outlandish stories or anything, HTTM just struck me in the right way.

My husband and I are fortunate in being able to have originally got the chance to see hot tub time machine back in early 2010 when it was released in movie theaters (we were still living in Orlando, florida during this time and saw hot tub time machine in a movie theater that was just a couple of miles from the university of central florida). Anyhow, imagine my delight when I saw this hot tub time machine dvd featured at my job as a holiday promo and I paid less than 3 dollars for this. It was fun getting the chance to watch this movie again of men who are given another chance to change their lives when they unintentionally are taken back to the time when they were teenagers. Obviously, the front of the dvd cover features john cusack, rob cordory, craig robinson, clark duke, and chevy chase. The dvd gives you a choice of the unrated and theatrical version. My husband and I enjoyed watching this move so much that we both agreed that we are definitely going to eventually check out hot tub time machine 2 ( we're just currently undecided whether we are going to see it in the movies or once it is on dvd). The plot to hot tub time machine is fun to watch because the men are given the chance to go back in time to when they vacationed at a popular ski resort together. There is a giant stuffed teddy bear image on the actual dvd and the following trailers' modern family, our family wedding, and date night.

I have watched this movie twice already and it does not let up being hillarious. This movie was compared to "The Hangover", but I don't see the similarities besides both of them being a comedy. I made it through "The Hangover" only because I spent money to rent it. "Hot Tub Time Machine" had more substance, more of a story line. This is a definite buy. People that like conventional, witty comedies might not like this movie. I would categorize this movie as raw, explicit comedy.
