This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I bought this because of its high weight limit and pneumatic tires. I really wanted an electric bicycle and got this to carry me over until I save the money. Well much to my surprise, this scooter is so good until i dont care about a bike any more. Im getting an add on seat and l now have my bike lol. Seriously this thing gets six stars.

First of all, I have purchased 4 Hover 1 scooters in the past 3 months. I love the Gambit, but it was too slow and too low of a distance range, but great for a child or as an entry level quick trip scooter downtown.
So to get to the Alpha Pro and the good, I purchased 2 of these, the first one, I purchased the first day Best Buy offered it and it worked great. It was fast, it gets great range, and the 10” inflatable tires absorbs a good amount of shock that the gambit doesn’t, also has a large deck for more comfort. Bluetooth speaker wasn’t very good, but it’s not horrible, the only Bluetooth issue I had was it makes a loud noise that is annoying when turning on in my apartment building hall or while others sleep in my house, but draws attention when heard in public.
However, the bad went from bad to dangerous, the first one I purchased 3 weeks ago had squeaky brakes, they are very loud, but I figured one day I would google it and maybe I could correct it. So I ordered a second for my wife. I assembled it (which assembly is super easy), assembly was at someone else’s house and charged it. The scooter worked great with No Squeaky Brakes, so the first one may have been defective. I brought it home and accidentally hit the accelerator and held it down as I was trying to open the door from the garage into my building and the accelerator was held down while the scooter was standing still with one of my hands on the handle bars. This scooter took off and flew up in the air smashing into the box that keeps a commercial fire extinguisher. It flew up in the air 3 times almost coming out of my hands and would have come out if there wasn’t the fire extinguisher box to stop it, and who knows if it would have injured me or done damage to the car feet away. Later I tested the scooter and found that holding the throttle down at a stand still puts it into cruise control
And accelerates it to full speed. This totally bypasses the needed kick start 2 or 3mph safety feature my other 3 Hover-1 scooters have, including my first Alpha-Pro that has squeaky brakes. I still like hover 1 and actually returned the 2 Alpha Pros today and bought 2 Blackhawks as they are a few months older and have no such reviews like this. Again, Alpha-Pro is great, and maybe if you are careful or if the brakes and safety features are 1 off abnormalities, then I would buy it all day, but didn’t want to chance more issues.

We went through 6 of these to try and get 2 without issues … and we failed. Parts missing, rattle galore, one would go 16 the other 19, one wouldn’t even move, crooked labels, missing decals, one looked totally used. Returned all. Best Buy was great about it and said a lot of them come back.

I have been contemplating another mode of transportation to I have an option and don't always have to rely on my car. This fit the bill perfectly.
First off, putting this together is super easy as all it requires is four screws. I did have a slight issue getting two the screws in as the holes were not exactly lined up but I was able to get them in with a little finesse.
Once together, I allowed the scooter to charge for the recommended five hours then took it out for a run. The throttle will not do anything until you kick start and ride at around 2mph but once you do, you hit the throttle and it takes off like a rocket. There is slow throttle up, it just goes but once you know that it is really fine. If you do decide to ride slow, you can set cruise control and will ride at the speed you turned cruise control on at.
As for speed, there are two settings, one which maxes out at 12mph and the other at 18mph. I personally like the higher setting simply because 18mph on this scooter is way faster than you would think and I have little fear riding at top speed as it handles the bumps in the road well. I was nervous about that at first but now that I rode it a few times, the smoothness of the ride allows me to ride with little fear.
The brakes are excellent on this also. Even at top speed you can come to a complete stop pretty quickly.
It is a bit on the heavy side but in reality, it is meant to be ridden more than carried. I don't think I will have an issue carrying it on and off the rail road to ride from the train to either work or my house. Definitely great for me for this reason.
The lights are great as you can be seen if riding at night which I do not see myself doing but never say never.
Overall, I have already used this a number of times to run to the store for small items where I didn't feel I needed my car. I wouldn't load up on groceries and ride but one or two bagged items is manageable. This has become my new favorite mode of transportation at this point to get around town. Definitely enjoy everything about it.

This Hover-1 Alpha-Pro scooter is fun to ride. It has two different speed modes to choose from, Eco and Sport, where Eco will go about 12 mph and Sport will go up to 18pmh depending on your size. To get things going, you just turn it on and start pushing it like a regular scooter, then push down gently on the throttle. I had to be going about 3 mph for the electric mode to start going, but once it did there was a slight jerk reaction so be prepared for that. The overall size of this Alpha-Pro fits me perfectly...it is very much intended for adult use, so be aware that this is not a good purchase for children under 14 or so. The only complaint that I have is that the handle bars were quite difficult to attach properly as the holes provided in the frame were not aligned properly with the bolt holes in the handle itself, which was very frustrating. Overall the rest of the build quality is great. I like that the handle bar shaft can be unlocked and folded down to make the scooter easier to store and transport. If you're looking for an electric scooter for commuting short distances around town, then I would definitely recommend giving the Alpha-Pro a shot.

I really enjoy the Alpha-Pro scooter. As a big guy, 6' 1" and 235 lbs, it's a bit difficult to find a scooter that is rated past 220 lbs. The Alpha-Pro is rated for 264 lbs. Even with me getting close to the maximum weight, I find the scooter very nimble when using it on flat ground. I have no problem getting it up to its 18 mph max speed. When it comes to inclines, it's not much of a problem there either. On a slight incline, the speed will drop to maybe around 15 mph. When I get to the subtle climbs, maybe 5% grade or so, the speed will drop to 9-11 mph. That sure beats walking! Once I hit an incline of close to 10%, it needs some help. I'm going to have to lean forward, give it a little foot kick on the ground and chug up the hill at maybe 4 mph. Thankfully, you don't find too many inclines that steep too often.
The Alpha-Pro uses 10" air-filled tires. I can't speak as to how easy or hard it is to blow them up, but it definitely makes for a smoother ride than the 6 or 8" hard tires on some of the less expensive models. Even at my height, I find that the handlebars are in a comfortable position. I also very, very much love the wide platform to stand on. I have plenty of space to position my feet how I want them. The brakes though, that's a bit of a different feeling. The Alpha-Pro has a rear disc brake and it's not anything like my mountain bike (mechanical) rear brake in terms of stopping power. It is pretty weak and if you needed to stop quickly, I feel like you may be headed for trouble. Either that or maybe I'm not squeezing it to its max. For me, the key is to ride under control and try to anticipate when I might need to stop so I can slow down a bit to avoid having to try and hit the brakes hard.
The Alpha-Pro is range rated for up to 17 miles. As a bigger guy, I'm definitely not getting that. Riding continuously from point A to B with some small inclines, I'm getting about 10-11 miles. That brings up an interesting point though. Once you get past the 8-mile mark or so, the scooter gets a little strange. If I perform a complete stop, instead of going back to 15-18 mph, it will only go about 6 mph. I still have well over 20% of the battery showing. If I turn off the scooter and then turn it back on, bam, I'm back to normal speed. So it seems there is some kind of internal protection going on. This brings me back to my range test. I'm riding almost non-stop for 45+ minutes. I'm wondering if I could squeeze out another 1-3 miles if I had some interim stops where the scooter would cool down for 10-15 minutes in between. If you weigh less than 200 lbs though, I'm sure you'll come close to the advertised 17-mile range.
The scooter is pretty heavy. Something like 30 lbs or so. That being said, it's lighter than my 45 lb bike! When I go to the store, I fold down the handlebars and throw the scooter in a shopping cart so I don't have to leave it unattended. It's a bit of a tight squeeze but it fits. Because it's 30+ lbs, you do have to have a little bit of muscle to get it in the cart, so beware of that.
In terms of features, it's pretty stripped down. There is a front headlight and it works pretty well. The only real issue is that the brake wires are in front of the light so it takes just a little bit of light away. The Bluetooth speaker is a bit gimmicky. It definitely works with my iPod (yes, I still use an iPod). You aren't going to turn many heads though thinking you have some awesome sound system. The running lights are a nice touch if you ride at night or at dusk. The display for the scooter is bare bones. 5 lights representing your battery life left and it tells you your current speed. No odometer on it. :( Last but not least is the cruise control. Once you get the knack of doing a double-tap on the throttle to engage it, you just hold on to the handlebar grips and enjoy the ride. No sore thumb!

After being stuck in shippers purgatory, this amazing Scooter arrived last week! I was so excited to get to test this out!
Box it comes in is hug! But is well packaged. It was super simple to setup and get going!
Once I got it out on the street and started going whoa nelly does it get up and go! it was zipping right along!
I think this would be perfect for someone in a downtown metro area looking to cut out the costs of renting scooters or for your kid looking to zip around.
I put about 10 hours of ride time in this scooter so far! It was fun and my wife even loved riding it.

What a beautiful electric scooter Hover-1 has produced! It gleams, is very well lit, comes with a bluetooth speaker built in and is a fun machine.
The Hover-1 Alpha comes with a speedometer, battery indicator, cruise control, headlight and tail light and has a high speed mode. The scooter goes up to 17 miles at a maximum speed of 18 mph. The scooter supports a maximum of 264 pounds. It has a rear disc brake, inflated 10" rubber tires with an air pump included.
When lit up at night, the Hover-1 is simply beautiful. Great thought was put into the build and it shows.

I had this product only for only 8days. I have no complain about its affordability when it comes to a high powered eclectic scooter. For almost halft of fraction of a cost of a high end brand. You will never go wrong purchasing this brand under their line of products. But like any regular consumers, you have to be aware the product durability in a long run over the quantity and quality on how it was used. Without a suspension that makes all its mechanical and iron body to function properly over rough, bumps and uneven pavements. The shock was not absorb by anything due absence of suspension. A bigger possibility that if you dont have a proper maneuverability if handling this king of adult toys the suspension where it should be located that connects the front wheels and handles losen in a bit of time. But with the presence of suspension. Im 100% damage will the front part of the scooter will be avoided. Another thing to consider is the plastic covering in the front wheels that covers the mechanical parts of the front wheels. Without proper attachment. It creates a disturbing sounds like as if something is wrong already with the product. Lastly, because not most of us we’re not like those fifty rich kid like Richie Rich. It will be beneficial to put a locking system on the product where you can easily put a chain or locking device to secure your investment. But it will be more sleek if they will come up a very innovative way of locking system that will need a small key just to lock the wheels locking. the wheel will and a built in locking hole attachment will not only prevent a huge cases of theft but also it gives peace while you shopped around inside your chosen merchant. Three major factor why i only gave them two star.
