This tough and taut coming of age tale, based on the novel of the same name, strikes at the fears in all of us. American teenager Daisy is sent to the English countryside to stay with her cousins. She is an uptight yet rebellious youth who seems to think she is superior to her country couisins, but has her own troubles laying just below the surface. All hell breaks out soon as mysterious terrorist armed forces begin an all out assault on Western Europe. She and her cousins are told to evacuate their area, but decide to stay and fend for themselves. What starts as a fun time bonding with her extended family becomes a horrific and tragic tale of youths plunging headlong into the very adult situations of a war zone. This film gets off the ground quickly and keeps up its breakneck pace till the end. Not your typical teen film, but is expertly handled by filmaker Kevin Macdonald. Thought provoking, controversial and ultimately very entertaining.

This movie was great. It puts a more realistic twist on the young adult dystopian novel. Would most teenagers know what's going on in a 3rd world war? No. And that's what this movie portrays. Excellent acting.

This one is GREAT. Totally a surprise. We saw the trailer before another movie, thought it was interesting, and got it. Wow. Well worth it. Check this one out.
