It's easy to say that the average person usually knows how to train dogs, cats, parrots, etc. Professional trainers and entertainers train lions, elephants, hawks, dolphins, etc. Who would have thought that a toothpick-thin boy, who lacks both physical strength and athlete-like coordination, would be able to train one of the most vicious dragons through care, understanding, and friendship? How to Train Your Dragon had to be one of the most lowly-anticipated movies of 2010. It was a so-called "Sleeper Hit" that provided satisfaction to children, teens, and adults. Like many others have said, the trailers did not do the movie any justice. This movie ranks right up there with Toy Story and Ratatouille. This Blu-ray set comes with two discs - a Blu-ray disc with the main and special features and a DVD copy. There isn't a great number of special features, but it is adequate considering the stunning visual and audio qualities. Even the soundtrack is really good. How to Train Your Dragon is a film for anyone to enjoy. It's a must-have for any movie collection.

This was a great movie with a great story about a boy that doesn't quite fit in finding his place in the world. I was concerned that the depth of the 3D animated world wouldn't show through on a conventional Blu Ray disc, but was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case. Colors were sharp and clear, and even though it doesn't have the same depth as a 3D picture, you get a good feel for the world the animators created. The Legend of the BoneKnapper Dragon was a great addition to the disc set, though it doesn't quite compare to the film. This was a great addition to my collection and I recommend it to anyone who wants a family film that everyone can truly enjoy, not just the kids.

Absolutely love this movie in theaters and on blu-ray. The image is crystal clear on my HDTV and the story is simple yet strong enough that I can watch it again and again. The extras include a short "episode" featuring many of the same characters that were in the movie, but it goes back and forth from the high quality 3D computer animated graphics we saw in the movie and a more traditional 2D drawn animation for the "flash backs" in the episode. The transition between the two styles was a little jarring for me, and the story and tone of the episode was definitely oriented to a more juvenile audience. But I still enjoyed it as an extra feature, along with the more traditional commentary and "making of" clips.

I love this movie. It's full of hilarious punch-lines, fantastic voice acting, and amazing animation. The story is good, but it's the animation and voice acting that really make this a masterpiece. EVERY ONE plays their role to perfection. And Toothless, the main dragon, is an amazing piece of animation...his movements and his expressions are so lifelike -- despite the fact that he is a fantasy character. Very well done. The movie might be intended for kids, but (as an adult) I loved it. It's also been the request of several people on my Christmas list.

This is a great movie for family/kids. Before I bought this, I heard a lot of good things about this movie and it meets my expectation. The dvd package also comes with blu-ray and regular dvd. Therefore, if you dont have blu-ray player, you still can use the regular dvd player. We used blu-ray and the picture is so crisp clear. I have an 8 and 3 year-old watching the movie with us and my 8 year-old loved the movie, but my 3 year old didn't really grasp the whole movie and left half-way and started playing by himself in his room. Therefore, I concluded this movie is gearred toward a little bigger kids (>5). Overall this is a great movie! I greatly recommend it.

The movie was outstanding and I was waiting anxiously for it to be released only to be disappointed with the packaging. I mean, in a world of digital devices allowing you to take your movie anywhere either on your mp3 player or phone, what's with Blue-Ray / DVD combo pack and NO DIGITAL COPY! I would have paid extra for it had they had it and even the in-store display said that the combo pack had a digitlal copy but it's no where to be found. Other than that, the movie is great and well worth the money spent to include it in the library. I guess I'll have to use DVDFab to make my own digital copy!

I actually thought it would be "just okay" after seeing the trailer, but I ended up watching it 4 times in the theatre, which is unlike me. AMAZING! I don't know anybody who doesn't like it...except for this one guy, but I don't really agree with his taste of movies anyway.

the trailers does not do this one justice i thought it was just gonna be goofy like most of the other animated movies but the story line was just awsome and touching so i had to own on blu-ray cause i can watch it more than once

Im not much of an animated movie person, but this movie was incredible. There is so much meaning behind the story, and you can tell this is not your average movie. Some of the scenes in this movie were so beautiful they brought tears to my eyes. There are hidden meanings to the dialogue sometimes, and if you listen close enough, you just might understand. Great story, great animation, and fun characters.

I love the commodity of ordering online. I pick it up at the store, but the only thing I hate is that you guys don't get the DVDs with Blu-Ray-DVD-Digital copy like other stores do. And I just find out after I got it from you guys. Can you something about that. We got the Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray, but just the blu-ray, no DVD and digital copy which is kind of say, I couldn't return it because my kids open the box and ripped the wrapping paper. That's all other than that, we enjoy buying at Best Buy

My children loved this movie, and it kept my wife and I thoroughly entertained as well. Often animated movies are extremely bright in color and mood - this had a good balance with darker, more realistic colors. Voice acting was superb, and matched the animation very well. DVD extras included a short movie which was very well put together. I have not yet had a chance to watch the other extras - every time I pull the movie out to watch it, my kids beg to see the entire movie again!

The movie was great! I think it's up there with the Shrek movies and Toy Story movies. I'll be honest, I didn't really want to see this movie when i first saw previews for it. My sister bought my family it for Christmas and we watched it, and loved it. I'm soo glad she bought it for us!

When it comes to Dreamworks, How to train your Dragon is definately my favorite now, it encompassed the whole family from my Toddler Daughter To my Military Husband. true to their previous movies they truly make it for everyone in the family not just for kids (ie the inuendos in Shrek etc). Above all i loved how the voice of Hiccups dad is Gerard Butler that man is just amazing :)

Saw this at the theater with low expectations with the family and would have walked back in watched it again after we left. The best Dreamworks production to date(In my opinion). Great story with tremendous animation. Parts all cast well (I thought the lead was the weakest casting but can look past it) and a great store line. A must have addition to any blu ray collection! Enjoy.

Saw this in theater in 3D IMAX, that was awesome. Saw it wqith my wife and we both loved it. We knew that when it came out on BR we would get it. Tried to get it the day released but my local BB stores were out. Made order onl;ine and got it within like a week. Have watched it once as a family, twice with my 18 year old, and twice on my own. HIGHLY RECOMMEND...IT IS GREAT.

I purchased this video for my son who had seen the movie in theatres. It is a great film for young boys who like adventure. The animation is great and the story teaches a nice lesson ("Not everything is as it seems at first glance"). Note, Best buy had the best price online at the time of release, and their store pickup service was very good.

The movie itself is touching, with an interesting story. The visuals are amazing and the voice acting is spot on. The blu-ray version is beautiful and provides some of the best quality blu-ray video I have seen yet and the blu-ray/dvd combo is of course great. I highly recommend this movie, especially the blu-ray/dvd combo.

This is a really good movie. It has pretty much everything you could want: action, adventure, comedy, and a touch of romance. I would put this up there with some of Pixar's best. To top it off, the Blu-ray features perfect video, an amazing soundtrack, and a good amount of extras. 5 stars all the way.

Loved the movie. Lots of fun and the extras are pretty good. Bad news is the extras only exist on the Blue Ray disk (starting to be common with most DVDs nowadays). Pretty basic combo set, so if you're looking for tons of extras they are not there. It was great for what we were looking for though.

I think this is probably the best movie from Dreamworks Animation. Its a great story, with simply a great pace. The Blu Ray version is incredible, especially in the darken scenes of the Dragon Den, Viking Pubs and the final battle. I would recommend that add this to your movie collection.
