I was skeptical hearing of the first movie but moments into opening dialog on the first viewing I knew that Dreamworks was going to suprise me. I have since been through the entire series. This is one of the few animated stories on the level of Pixar's best works in creativity and character development. It's fun for the whole family - or just this past middle age guy and my wife. The third is as good as the first 2. The series has displayed originality and creativity in both the story and story telling that is sadly lacking in much of the material released in recent years.

Gorgeous SteelBook, consistent with the first two

If you've collected the first two HTTYD SteelBooks from Best Buy, then the good news is this third and final entry in the series is consistent in terms of its design. You get another colorful and striking image on the front (that evokes all kinds of nostalgic feelings), a "money shot" on the back, and a glossy finish. There's still no title on the front, but the spine layout is similar to the first two. The 4K and Blu-ray discs inside are excellent. Very good movie, not quite as good as the first two but a fitting conclusion to the trilogy. Fans will be very satisfied.

Another Great Entry to the Franchise

I am a fan of the Dragons franchise. While this film wasn't quite as good as the first two, in my opinion, it was a fun time. Honestly, I was hoping the film would allow us to explore the Hidden World more rather than delve into a human conflict over the dragons.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray looks and sounds spectacular, just like the other films in the series. Some animation doesn't improve that much in 4K HDR over the standard Blu-ray, but that is not the case here.
If you are a fan of the franchise, this one is definitely worth adding to your collection.

Redeemed by a strong ending

This concluding entry in the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy avoids some of the problematic issues around the plot and antagonist of the second movie, but is not much more successful at recapturing the magic and sense of discovery of the first movie in the trilogy. The plot drags at points, and the secondary characters drift even further into caricature. That being said, it retains the overall high quality (in animation, script and acting) of the series, with improved graphics technology that looks especially good in any scenes involving water. What earns the movie four stars overall is a powerful ending which runs counter to modern franchise trends and ties up the trilogy beautifully.
The bluray looks quite good overall. Compared to my memory of the theatrical experience, it seems to capture a bit less detail in the image, but it is in some ways a more pleasing image; I remember being bothered by a plasticky appearance in the faces when watching in the theater, and I find this much less pronounced in the bluray version.

I loved the first two Dragon movies and this one was no different. It is beautifully animated as always and breathtaking to watch. The story is sweet, funny and sad. I have fallen in love with the characters and hate that there won’t be anymore movies. But they finish the trilogy with style, grace and beauty. I will watch all three over and over again for years to come - laughing and crying with each one. I highly recommend this for children of all ages. I am in my 50’s and they still bring me such joy.

I just love this entire collection! From the original trilogy to the made for tc spinoffs -- they are all just fantastic! Amazing art work and an even better story line! I was hooked right from the start! The characters area real and very relatable and deal with real world issues and results! I hate to see this story line end, I hope they decide to do a 4th movie some where in the future! This is a must for all animated movie lovers, family movie lovers and people who just love a great story!

Ten years after the first How to train Your Dragon the 3rd installment finds our heroes and their dragon friends in a life and death struggle to find safety when a dragon hunter enters the scene to try to destroy them. A love story enters, as well, when Toothless finds an untamed Night Fury is a potential mate for him. Hiccup must find the Hidden World where the dragons can be safe and outwit the ruthless Grimmel before he puts all the dragons in peril. Great sequel! A must see!!

If you saw the original 2010 film and loved the world since then, Hidden World is a worthy closure to its legacy. There is a lot of dialogue that seems to cut into any weight the story could carry, but there are still moments that make you feel for the characters. If not the story, the incredible visuals will be more than enough to justify watching it. As for as the steelbook packaging, it tastefully captures how far Hiccup has come in his journey, and has a nice glossy finish.

I missed my opportunity to view this in IMAX 3D, so i picked this up the second it was available for pre-order. The graphics where stellar, but it is a shame that the industry despite making movies in 3D IMAX for theaters have abandoned this for the home viewer. The movie artfully brought the series to a close in a bittersweet way. I grew up on this series and hope to inspire my future kids with it as well, so this steelbook collectors edition is just the way to do it.

How to Train Your Dragon/ The Hidden World is the last film in the Train Your Dragon Trilogy that was 10 years in the making. The young Viking Hiccup and his Night Fury dragon friend Toothless have a final adventure to find the hidden dragon world so that Dragon's can finally be safe. Along the way they find a female Light Fury and a dragon hunter played masterfully by F. Murray Abraham. Theres excitement, adventure, and some poignant heart-felt moments. A must See!

From the first time I saw the original HtTYD, I was hooked. It was surprisingly fun and heartfelt. The friendship which developed between Hiccup and Toothless was relatable to any current or former pet-owner. Without spoiling this movie, I feel like this was a perfect ending to the trilogy. Every time I've watched this, I swear that I won't tear up during the final scene, but I always do. If you're a fan of the first two, you won't be disappointed in this one!

Actually started with the first one, can't believe it's been nine years. I'll admit it, by the time we got to the end of the third one we were crying....a lot. it was like watching family part ways, great movie. About the movie, watched it(4K), through a 75" Z9D, connected to a Z5000ES, using a 1000ES player, totally blown away, the colors, brightness, and motion are unbelievable. I'd recommend this movie, great for the whole family.

Great addition to the series with a story that had our children and ourselves hooked from the opening scene to the tearjerker final family meeting family sequence. I would highly recommend adding this very entertaining movie to anyone's collection. For the videophile the colors are very rick and saturation is amazing as well as the transitional elements aligned perfectly to a Dolby Atmos soundtrack that makes you feel a part of the movie.

I’ve brought my family to watch all of the HTYD movies. And this one does not disappoint. The final movie to the series tugs at your heart and emotions to give up the things that you love and know when to let go. Yes, the movie will have it sad moments but in the end it will make you smile. The enemies and the the adversity keeps you engaged. I loved the series all the way to end. Two thumbs up and I would recommend it to everyone.

Gather the children on the floor with pillows and blankets.
This movie was excellent at entertaining everyone in the room.
The kids loved it and fell asleep on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
The parents and I watched all of it.
Later that evening the kids watched the rest of it,
Starting from where they fell asleep.
Teaches responsibility for a pet and a friend.
All-in-all a good time and memory too share.
Enjoy it with the kids.

I have been watching the How to Train Your Dragon since it was on regular TV every week. When the movies came out it was a bonus. We have the whole collection of both the tv shows as well as all the movies on DVD. You can watch them over and over again. I now have my 4 year old granddaughter watching them too. I am sad that this will be the last one. It was just as good as the first and second one.

The movie itself is a heartfelt and beautifully made send-off to a wonderful trilogy. Great features on this one that'll entertain audiences of all ages. For a film like this, 4K is the way to go. The colors are so strikingly prominent while the image is as crisp as it can be. Also like that the bonus material is on the 4K disc as well. So often they only put that stuff on the blu-ray disc.

Best Buy rolled out each 4K installment separately on SteelBook. So, I had to purchase each separately. Sure wish Best Buy had just simply waited to release a SteelBook box set for convenience. I guess they figured they could price gouge more out my wallet spent over three separate purchases as opposed to one. Otherwise, no complaints as 4K makes everything — audio; visual — better!

I wasn't expecting this film to be worth the wait, but thankfully it was. This is one of the better animated trilogies I've watched and I'm glad it was brought to a good end; not cheesy. The steelbook is great and it's nice to have the front cover free of the title. It looks much more clean that way. I have all three films so it's nice to be able to watch them all at once.

One of our family’s favorites series, HTTYD comes to a finale with part 3. It’s bittersweer to see our beloved characters go, but the exit is sublime and fitting. The hint of a new future at the end of the film is wonderful and emotional, so we have a glimmering hope of a follow up in time. Highly recommended if you’re a fan of Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, and the rest.
