A late night train out of London on a dark stormy night comes to a halt in a forest half way through its journey, the ticket collector Joe becomes an unlikely hero as he does his best to help the passengers remain calm, but something unimaginable is waiting outside for them!! This is an unmissable British werewolf horror, I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. One of the years top horror releases. This is a die hard horror fans dream come true. Plenty of great building tension once the action kicks in, the movie has a really good cast of characters, your usual stereotypes that you love and hate but not entirely predictable, the effects are spot on all the way, the train and the location etc all looks genuine and work really well. The werewolf effects are great, some of the scariest for sure in long while, some amazing make-up effects from the creators of the creatures from The Descent movies. There's plenty of bloody gore. The werewolf gets some good screen time and looks really frightening .This is a great creature movie with plenty of blood. It is really fun at the same time. Be sure to check out this horror gem.

Very nice take on the werewolf genre. A train full of cranky, quirky people trapped in the middle of nowhere. Which happens to be werewolf territory. There is a nice slow build up to the crux of the situation they all find themselves in. We really get a feel for most of the characters and who we should hate and who we should feel bad about getting eaten. Excellent performances. Great actors. The effects were pretty great too. Up close the werewolves are scary. From far away, they are extremely frightening. You'll see. This film captures the terror of seeing a werewolf lingering or lurking about in the woods at night! I also enjoy that the werewolves are not invincible. They are terrible beasts, but a group of well-organized humans has a chance. Sort of. Maybe. Howl kept my attention all the way through. It ramps up the tension well, changing pace perfectly throughout. It transforms from a story about a sad train guard and his boring job into a truly frightening encounter with evil. Which has a twist ending some might like. I bought it. Will watch again. HOWL rocks.

I got this because there were a couple of actors/actresses I had seen in other films and I liked (Shauna Macdonald & Sean Pertwee) and thought I'd give the movie a try. It was a good film. I liked that the werewolves weren't the typical monsters that have been seen before. I thought it was a rather straightforward werewolf movie (what you see & read on the cover is basically what you get.)

I had low expectations for this little movie, but was pleasantly surprised by the first-class production values. While the special EFX were not the best for the genre they were pretty effective .The acting was, for the most part, quite good and the mood and atmosphere kept me glued to the edge of my seat. It's an ideal popcorn movie for a late-night viewing !

Cool concept- a train is mysteriously stopped in isolated English country side at night during a full moon and the passengers are being picked off in gruesome fashion. I loved the original creature design of this monster as well. Good job overall, a few flaws, but very entertaining.

This movie invoked the nostalgia I feel for movies of the 1980's. All the effects are practical, the story is tense and scary, and it kept me riveted. If you love movies with minimal CGI and a good horror story about werewolves, this is the movie for you.

I was at the store looking for something new to buy and came across this film. I bought it not knowing much about it except what was on the back of the blu-ray. I was surprised at how good it was! Definitely not disappointed with this "blind buy."

I love indie horror more so than main stream because you get films like these. I love that it's not amazing but just what it needs to be. If you like the descent or dog soldiers than you will probably like this film too. Ending is kind of random.

I've been looking forward to seeing this and wasn't disappointed. Starts a little slow, but once the mayhem starts it gets crazy with good gore and practical werewolf makeup effects. Solid low budget werewolf flick for fans of the genre.

There aren't that many good werewolf movies on the market, much like vampire and zombie movies they've become almost laughable and annoying, they don't have a story that hasn't already been done and told a thousand times over. This one is much different, and doesn't dwell on the fact there's a werewolf, where did it come from, how did it get there and the usual stuff you see in horror movies with such monsters. Everything needs a background story as to why, this one doesn't, it just is. This is a really good movie to watch, with a good story and a good set of cast members.

Werewolf subgenre films aren't always made with care but this film, coming from the UK, shows you that when in the right hands, you can actually watch a worthwhile werewolf flick.

I enjoyed the movie. Train breaks down with werewolves prowling around and picking the passengers off right and left. Not to mention rather a surprise at the end.

Howl is an entertaining horror ride, with passengers stuck on a train...it gives the feeling of being closed in not knowing where these werewolves will attack.

This little gem stars one of the footman from the long running PBS series Downton Abby. What I like about this picture is there is no CG I in it what so ever. It is like watching An American Werewolf in London with the beast changing before your eyes. The special effects are fantastic, the acting is great, and there is a small cameo of Sean Pertwee from Dog Soldiers, a complete homage to the Werewolf films..

Let's be honest. Good werewolf films are hard to come by. There are a few out there that I absolutely love but for the most part, they are few and far between. Howl is a really good film. I had read a few reviews about this before giving it a shot. I'm thankful I gave it a chance. Highly recommended!
