Protect the front element of your costly lens with a filter! All my lenses have the Hoya NXT HCM UV filters attached - they are clear, give no color cast, and are rugged enough for day-to-day use.

I purchased this for my Canon - EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Standard Lens - Black. It is foolish to buy an expensive lens and not protect it. The filter offers protection plus added value to my photography shots.

It's a simply lens filter that would protect your expensive lens from scratches and cracking. Fits well on my canon lens and feels like nothing is in front of it.

People say that UV filters don't do anything and they are not essentials, but I like to have them to make sure that my lenses are protected from dust and water. My L series Canon Lenses are already weather sealed and everything, but I put my UV filter to make sure that the surface of the glass stays clean and scratch free. And no, UV filters don't decrease your image quality by a huge margin. Most of the times, it is undetectable.

Good for protecting the camera lens. But may consider to buy a polar lense than this one if that fits your need.

The Hoya filters are very well respected in the photography community. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son's girlfriend (along with a new lens). I am a semi-professional photographer and I have a couple of this line of Hoya filters. Highly recommended as a protective cover for the glass at the end of a lens. Cheap insurance to protect a much more expensive lens. Hoya filters are clear and cause no negative effects when they are used.

Great Filter , the hue and tone of the pictures are clearer and it does help with haze. Easy to match from the store to the camera just note the lens information on the lens that came with your camera or one of the other lenses you have for it. The size will be on the side of the lens , just match to the filter assortment at the store.

This filter works well, is rather easy to clean, and keeps the dust away from my lens. It has made my landscape photos have less of a blue tint and seem more natural colored. I would suggest tightening it tight by hand, but not tightening it too much if you want to be able to get it off easily later.

I use UV filters on all my lenses just to protect them from dust and smudges during normal use. The pictures are not visible affected by this use. I also have other filters and hoods that can be attached and removed without disturbing the UV filter.
