I buy the best filters because in addition to keeping out the dust, the better filters also protect the lens in case it’s dropped accidentally. The metal connection for the strap to my Nikon D810 broke and the cap was off. I believe if it had been a cheaper filter, it would have damaged the lens.

I only use Hoya filters on my lenses. These filters are well worth the money because they protect your expensive lenses.

I've used Hoya NXTs for years in all sorts of conditions and they have always stood up well, suffered my less than gentle cleaning technique and keep on doing what I ask - protect my expensive glass. Other brands have let me down but never have the Hoya NXTs.

Mostly used as protection for some the lens, but it is also useful as an excellent uv filter it does exactly what it is supposed to do. Screws on perfectly and stqys put.

I honestly just buy the UV filters to protect my lens. They are usually a fraction of the cost compared to the canon "L" series lens. Put this one on my 50mm

This is a I’ve ray protective filter for your lens. If stopped this could prevent damage to your actual lens glass. Well worth it.
