Hozier's got a great voice, and when he layered it for the choir effect it can sound quite impressive. Songwriting is hit and miss, but overall an impressive debut.

Powerful songs, but you start to get depressed. OK to listen to one or two songs at a time. Hide the razor blades if you listen to the whole thing.

Great all around debut album. The song Take Me To Church is one of the many highlights on this album!

Hozier is a new artist /folksinger from Ireland who has crossed over into alternative rock. His music reflects a little gospel and blues/rock.

When I first heard Hozier, I thought they should and hopefully will be around for a loooooong time

Well this album is ok. Not what I expected from hearing "Take me to Church". So some people may be a little put off my the rest of the songs.

It has all the more known songs. And then has some of the songs no one has heard but are great.
