I got this for basic browsing and doing some work while off site, and I have to say it’s spectacular! Light weight, but packs a punch. Runs smooth all my apps and then some, and also has a SD slot for extra memory. Definitely recommend.

I bought this for my son for online school. It's good so far, but it's only been about a month. Charging and battery life seems good. Sound is good. The display is nice. I haven't had many laptops, so nothing to really compare it to. Overall, I would recommend this for daily casual use.

I love this Chromebook! All I needed was something for streaming and sorting photos and documents. It's cheaper than a regular laptop, and holds thousands of photos and videos. I've never had any issues. The only thing I don't love is that there airways send to be an update and I have to restart.

Google set the specs for Chromebook Plus and automatically upgrades the operating system on this machine to Chromebook Plus because the hardware qualifies. Nice machine!

Before I get into the review, let me set some context. Between home and my work in IT, I've used MANY laptops over the years across Windows, Mac and Chrome (and even sometimes Linux). Everything from super gaming or programmer PCs to lightweight convertibles and netbooks. So believe me when I tell you this is a GREAT "companion" laptop to take to a coffeeshop or hang out with on the couch. Given the specs - and that it's running ChromeOS - this isn't meant to be a super gaming PC. And that's ok - what you DO get is quite a lot. The new Core i3s (Alder Lake-N, 12th Gen) are super strong for what they are and you get 8 cores that can power through strong while SIPPING power. For some context, this chip gets benchmark scores that are slightly better than the Core i7 4790K - a top tier chip that absolutely rocked powering my high end gaming desktop until just a few years ago (and used a TON of power to do it). 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage may not seem like much but are just fine in a Chromebook where most of what you're doing is online and the OS is very lightweight. And there's plenty of space for a Linux partition and Android apps if that's your thing (and a microSD card slot for media/larger files to store locally). The screen is bright and clear - 1080p is perfect at this size and the screen is great for videos or productivity work. You can certainly stream games if you want over a number of services or play older/emulated games locally if you want (and if your game supports ChromeOS, Android or Linux). Not having a touchscreen does make some Android apps harder to use but not terrible. Connectivity is fine with two Thunderbolt ports (one on each side) that support data, video and power. You also get the previously mentioned microSD card slot which I've tested up to 1TB without issue and a USB-A port handy for older peripherals. The keyboard has a number pad and is lovely to type on though I do wish it was backlit for late night sessions. The trackpad isn't glass but is very responsive and large. The best thing about this laptop though is the battery life - ChromeOS and the efficient Alder Lake - N chip mean you get ASTOUNDING battery performance without even trying. I've been using this laptop (which I'm writing the review on right now) off and on for two days, probably totalling about 7-8 hours of use and I still have 34% battery which it tells me will last another nearly 4 hours. And part of that time I was powering a USB-C external monitor from the laptop, streaming a sporting event! That's what makes this a great computer to have with you whever you are. I still kept my gaming laptop for when I want to have a LOT of power on the go...but this laptop is the one I pick up more often, to browse the web, shop, even do some emails or office work (LibreOffice in Linux or Google Docs - or even Office 365 on the web if you have a subscription). I can also remotely access my desktop or any Citrix devices and use those as well - all with the great battery life of the Chromebook. So that's a VERY long way of saying that I love using this Chromebook, and I'm better that you will too!

I bought this as an upgrade to my wife's 15in Chromebook with Num Pad. Her old computer has about 1/2 in processor/ram/storage. And the new screen is much, much better. With twice of everything, performance is no longer an issue. She never complained, but when I use the old computer, it was noticeable. With it on sale it was $100 more than the Old Computer on sale. $100 more for twice about everything was no brainer. At list price I would have second thoughts. It also got the Chrome OS Plus update. Really glad I got her a much nicer computer. Right now it maybe better than her desktop.

As the owner of an 14" 4gb/64gb HP Chromebook from a few years ago, I expected twice as much from this model. It is quick enough, has plenty of storage, a large track-pad for easy navigation, and the display is large, detailed, and vibrant. It's been three months since my purchase, so I grabbed the previous Chromebook before writing this review. It feels like a toy now. I am very pleased with my purchase and would do so again.

This is a solid chromebook that meets my needs. It has a large HD screen and plenty of memory. It is well built and has some weight. It can handle multiple tabs easily and quickly. If you can catch the sale price, it is a worthwhile purchase.

My Windows laptop finally died and my husband recommended a Chromebook. I use this mostly for web search, paying bills etc. The number pad was a must. This is the EASIEST laptop I've ever used! Battery life is insanely good and speed is great as well.

I'm using the device to write this review, and so far I have not had any major problems, but I've only been using it for about two hours. I am able to pair both a set of wireless headphones and a Bluetooth mouse at the same time which is really nice as there is only one USB-A port. Not having to use a USB receiver for my wireless mouse saves the port for a flash drive or something else if I need it. The computer also accepts my 512 GB microSD card, but I did need to format it before using it, something which the Chromebook did in a few seconds. I have saved a few downloaded pictures to test it, and it works well. I bought this HP Chromebook because my Windows computer was having problems and I thought I might have a virus. For basic and moderate tasks, I think this should be fine, and very importantly to me, it has a nice 15.6" screen that produces a nice picture with good color accuracy, contrast, and DEEP blacks. My more expensive laptop is ruined as the monitor is not able to reproduce deep blacks which makes everything look dull, kinda greyish with the color washed out, but not here, everything is nice and vibrant. The whiteness of this page is really nice adjusting the brightness all the way up and down, and the black is very dark, with good contrast against the grey of the picture of the computer on the right(which appears as I am writing this review of the item). As far as I can tell the battery life is very good as well. When I took it out of the box, it was charged to 70%, and after I've used it for a couple of hours, it's still got 53% and the computer says that's 3 hours and 50 minutes left. This computer has worked well so far and is sufficient for my needs, so I cannot complain, especially considering the price. Oh, the computer is also built quite well, it's solid and heavier than I was expecting.
