i bought it in a rush it seemed ok .it will do what I need it to do but I'm not happy with it at all

This is a nice lower priced laptop, although wish I had purchased the touch screen model.

Works fine! The computer I chose because of a tight budget reflects the cheaper quality,

Chose HP on family recommendation, but I regret not sticking with Dell.

It's ok, not as quick as I thought it would be. Like my old HP better.

Haven't really had a lot of time to use it yet, so am still learning

Bought my mother this computer she only surfs the web!

So slowwwwwweeee. A waste of money. It is better than the one i was initially going to get, ,thanks to the best buy guy who helped, but this product sucks for the $399 i paid. I will try to upgrade asap. So slow. 2-3 min power webpage

I returned this computer just a few days after I bought it. It may be popular, but my keyboard didn't work properly and the touch pad was hard to manage.

I am Apple all the way. I only bought this computer because some of the companies won't use Apple.

Battery life is awful. Wish I never bought this laptop

I purchased this as a replacement for an older ASUS laptop. Once she set it up and attemped to do some shopping online, it was obvious that this was a poor choice. It took forever to load three web pages. So I took it back to the store and purchased the ASUS Q304UA.

I've had this lap top a little over a year and have had tons of problems. It's slow and now it has hardware issues. I'm a grad student and only use it for school. I will probably have to buy a new one and will NOT buy an HP product again!!

I am standing in line at the elkridge, md best buy where i have been dealing with asst mgr Erin and his team for an hour , while trying to return this hp laptop which was defective (mouse). This was a customer service nightmare.

Within two weeks of purchase the laptop would not turn back on. Geek squad offered to fix it for free or replace it but the lack of quality didn't lead me to return it and pick another brand laptop.

Right out of box, would not boot properly. Returned to store for refund.

The HP Notebook 15-AY012DX offers your standard laptop features including, and integrating, all of the following: - a single USB 3.0 port... - ...two normal USB 2.0 ports... - ...a single HDMI connection port... - ...one RJ-45 port, a.k.a. Ethernet port, a.k.a LAN port... - ...one headphone/microphone combo port... - ...one multi-format SD media card reader - ...and one "SuperMulti DVD burner", a.k.a, a disk drive. Every function works as intended, however, one slight issue is determinating which USB port is the 3.0, as the three are all the same color. Granted, one can barely see the "SS USB" notation on the laptop's left side, but it is there and also works as intended with upload and download speeds. The laptop monitor is a standard 15.6 inch diagonal (1366 x 768 pixels), which is commonplace for the normal user. Internal memory is a 4 GB DDR3L-1600 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) and runs perfectly fine with normal, everyday computer usage. With that in mind, this laptop is only an entry-level type notebook. One will find that running CPU intensive applications or games will cause the laptop to have performance issues, such as stuttering, lagging, or freezing, and in very rare occasions, have a BSOD crash. Additionally, minimized applications that are left idle on this laptop for longer than forty minutes will have issues if they are maximized, and the issue can only be fixed by stopping the process via Task Manager. It is also worth to mention that this particular notebook laptop has no Bluetooth capabilities, and the built-in webcam quality is not great at all, akin to slightly over 144p on a YouTube video for a rough approximation. Additionally, the built-in microphone (right next to the webcam) is low quality as midtones sound muffled and lowtones are barely audible. It also picks up an obscene amount of background noise as well, however, the laptop speakers themselves deliver great audio quality. Going back to the hardware aspect, one terabyte of hard drive space is ample room to download many applications and save a gratuitous amount of data, however, the laptop's performance declines greatly once the hard drive is around two-thirds full. In my personal experience, I have owned this laptop for around three years, and although the performance issues discussed may just be my fault in general for not keeping up with internal maintenance, it is well rounded, but limited.
