The price point is good, it's a 3 star average laptop, and in one month has proven to be dependable and do what I want it to do. It's certainly not an "overachiever." The mouse pad needs to be improved & can be frustrating while working and trying to get around documents/websites/etc. I like the fact that it has a fast start up and everything is quickly accessible on the Microsoft dashboard. Thankfully, the virus protection software doesn't slow it down to a crawl like some laptops. I use the laptop for work (email, documents, excel), web surfing, streaming and skype. After working on a Mac for the last 5 years, I'm happy to be back on a Microsoft platform and use Google apps & docs again. "All that glitters is not gold-->Apple"

My children use this laptop for their video schooling. To-date it has performed perfectly and is a great value for the cost.

I've had this computer for a couple weeks now and so far I'm very happy with it. It's fast and I am able to do everything I want on it. It's not a top of the line computer but for the price I paid, I can't complain.

Overall as stated above I'd give this HP AY15 an 8.5, but I feel I maybe should have studied the design and upgradeabilty(i.e.-adding Ram) ease a bit more as I discovered upon looking to add Ram after I purchased it. I discovered you practically have to totally disassemble the entire computer to be able to get to the Ram slots. Since this is the case, HP should have maxed the Ram at 8gb as it can hold from the start saving the customer the headache. Live and learn I guess.

I have read many reviews before purchasing this laptop, and am not disappointed. It has plenty of ram for multiple open apps and a very nice 1tb hard drive. It is not overloaded with useless software which I prefer . You won't be dissapointed.

This laptop is well built and feels very sturdy. It is also one of the better apportioned laptops as it has the core i5 and 4GB memory and 1TB HDD. The only complaint we have is that the display in the store was a touchscreen and this laptop is not. We think the salesman gave us the wrong laptop and it was too late to exchange it by the time we opened it up and started using it to discover that it is not a touchscreen.

This laptop is used only for Word / Excel and communications and for these purposes, it's more than enough. It powers on quickly and the speed and response is better than average. For under $400, this machine is a steal.

This was exactly what I was looking for---a basic and affordable laptop to prepare documents and slides to project in the classroom. The laptop is lightweight with a nice sized screen and has met my expectations.

Purchased for a new college student as an affordable laptop that can handle the basic tasks of surfing the web, streaming video, running office products. It fits the bill nicely, doesn't break the bank. It won't blow you away with speed or performance, but you don't expect that at this price point. You won't feel all that bad if it gets a little mistreatment at this price!

This laptop was the best priced laptop for what it comes with that I could find anywhere. I didn't want an entry level with a Celeron processor or an AND. Storage space, ram, and processor all a plus.

This HP has met all my expectations for speed and ease of use. We liked it so much that other family members also bought one. We bought it on sale which made it an even better option.

I was looking for a good entry point laptop that I could add a small 480gb SSD drive and make it a descent laptop. The price of SSD has come down quite a bit. This laptop did not disappoint. You need to be careful when taking it apart, it has a lot of screws, but as long as you have good lighting, you can change the drive in 10-15 minutes. Once you have that SSD in, it will give it a nice boost. And since the W10 upgrades were free, I used a usb thumb drive to reload the OS and had no activation problems.
