Excelent open box. Has no scratches, and the price was so good. I have used hp before and its great. I get more memory just in case but with 8 Gb runs good.

Missing 2.5 expansion that previous models had... if you upgrade use a tool not your fingernails to get the plastic pulled off the bottom. start at the front of laptop and work around the sides the back just hinges off, if you pry the back you will break plastic tabs. the plastic is soft so where I pryed of the back cover there are dents. So be careful.

I purchase this item in aug 2021. It has been impeccably cared for as my hubby is IT. The last time I used it was Jan 19, 2023. It wouldn’t charge so I took it in to Best Buy where I was informed that my motherboard was bad. I called Maverickcomputer service to see if they could repair and they could not believe that the motherboard was already bad after a year and half. My husband is IT and I take very good care of my electronic things. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Excuse the dust on the screen. I just opened it to take the pics.

Disappointed with the purchase so had to return. I bought it as open box. The laptop was nice but it has some food stains on it. Had to clean it. Then couldn't upgrade to Windows 11 as advertised. Kept getting error message. I was not happy with the product. I really wanted to like it.

I am not a tech person. I bought this laptop to replace my old one purchased way back in 2013. Keep this in mind. I am not a 'geek'. ************** SO...I really like this computer. Set up was easy and the machine guided me through it. I got a lucky in that my favorites and saved passwords were automatically switched over (because I already had a Microsoft account?). Keyboard is comfortable and the screen size is great. The color and graphics are excellent. The computer is super fast! 8GB memory is plenty for me as I use this for emails, social media and photos. I am not a gamer so I don't know how this works for that. Sorry. My only ''con'' is that I cannot connect my old printer to this. I did the whole 'driver download' thing but no success. I am assuming that a new (updated) printer will connect. Still, very happy with this purchase (FYI: I bought 2, one for myself and one for my nephew. Both of us a happy).

Needed a cheaper computer to handle easy work tasks as a computer for our business and it’s a work horse for its price. Use it for music and video streaming with surprisingly good video quality. Only wish it was touch screen but that’s a personal preference. As far as what this is it’s an excellent machine

Driver-dependant hardware, bad Linux support, bloa

HP Computers nowadays come jam packed with bloat and advertising (even premium gamer laptops ಠ_ಠ). DO NOT TRY TO UNINSTALL/REINSTALL Windows if you want Windows. The Intel Rapid Storage Technology requires a driver that isn't present in Window's installer, so you need to go to HP's website to find the correct driver, find a program to uncompress .exe files, and move the files to the laptop in order to install the storage drivers. Which brings me to my third point: the BIOS is very heavily locked down. There is no option to turn off Intel RST, so your NVMe will always be mapped through it (unnecessary overhead). Unless you know how to modify their BIOS without turning your laptop into a paper weight, you are stuck with that overhead. For Linux support, you'll need to use the "vmd" Kernel parameter. The keyboard in Linux also has an issue being detected by the atkbd and i8042 drivers, so in order to get it to work (except for caps lock led and mute led), you need to include the i8042.dumbkbd Kernel parameter. Now onto performance (the saving grace for this laptop): This laptop, for the price, is very performant. It has no issues with some light gaming. Featuring the latest gen Intel processor and their new IrisXE integrated graphics, this is easily capable of 4k@60fps output for normal output. This was the cheapest laptop I could find (that wasn't a Chromebook, eww) with these specs. The build quality isn't very great. It feels very much like the whole thing is plastic. The heat wasn't getting too bad, though... Although make sure to keep the bottom clear (hard surfaces - carpet or thick desktop pads will ruin the cooling). The best thing about this laptop, in my opinion, is the sound quality. The DAC is capable of 24 bit-depth at 48kHz sampling, so it's capable of outputting HiFi audio. The speakers were also nice and loud, though I'd recommend headphones if you want to really benefit from HiFi. In the end, though, I returned mine and decided to go with a more performant laptop that can last me a good five years (at least) before needing to upgrade. Verdict: HP is very consumer-unfriendly. But, for the price and performance, this is a good deal.

Pretty awesome laptop so far! Faster than I expected! The value was awesome and I haven't found a better price anywhere. The battery is good and the setup was easy. I love the screen size and the fact that it is still very lightweight. One thing I love about Best Buy these days is that you can order online and drive up to pick up the product. They were quick, efficient, and friendly. I don't do any gaming but this completely fits my needs of basic at home use. Everyone should watch the sales at Best Buy!

This was an excellent purchase for my college student! It is fast enough to run multiple videos, lightweight enough to carry around, and has had a great battery life. Although it is a low-mid priced laptop, six months after purchasing I don't feel like we already need an upgrade. We added a USB hub because she plugs a lot in, but it was more than adequate as is.

So far (about four weeks) I've been exceptionally pleased with the laptop. Although the casing is plastic (rather than aluminum) and the system doesn't offer touch screen capability, the system is exceptionally fast and the display is very crisp. The price was so reasonable that I decided to purchase three years of Geek Squad protection.

I liked it well enough that I bought another for my spouse. Positives: Very bright screen Fast boot SSD drive Very light Fingerprint scanner SD card reader Priced lower than many Chromebooks (got mine on sale for $400) Compatible with Win 11 (I haven't run it on battery, so really don't know how good) Negatives: No ethernet port Only 3 USB ports Has crashed a few times (1. "lost" hard drive, 2. something is running driver verify, causing crash) Hard drive adequate, but small. Typical for HP: lots of unwanted programs to uninstall Keyboard a little difficult to see

I love this computer. I have 5 kiddos and. Accidents happen and they have dropped or stepped on my laptop more than once and it still works perfectly! I play games and do work on it with no issues switching between the two.
