My (old) laptop decided to completely and finally die this week with the blue screen of death. We are currently in the middle of the world-wide COVID-19 pandemic and all the stores are closed and/or sold out of laptops with camera's and DVD drives. I didn't necessarily want/need a touch screen, but this HP Touch Screen Laptop was available online immediately and had the dvd drive and webcam I wanted so I bought it. Unfortunately it is NOT a touch-screen. It says it is, and the HP website says this make/model is... but the laptop I got (which all the numbers/serial numbers say it's this exact model) is NOT touch-screen capable. I don't know if it's just the one I got or if all them will be this way. It doesn't have the device driver for touch-screen installed. (Not that it's not enabled... it's not there at all). After 2 days of trouble shooting, downloading all updates of Windows, HP driver updates and uninstall and reinstalls of ALL the drivers available for this model hoping one of them had the missing driver as part of it, then finally giving in and uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows operating system (again, hoping somehow that driver was missing in the original factory installation) NOPE. No driver. See the two photos to see the driver listing where it SHOULD be listed: and the official HP Trouble Shooting report where it says this model does not have the capabilities..... The computer is fine otherwise - as expected. Just be aware that the one I received is not touch screen capable. And that means I overpaid about $150 for this model as without touch screen it would run about $499 and with the touch screen, it's bumped up to $619. Because I need a laptop right now, and we in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Best Buy stores are closed and only doing curb-side orders and I am not leaving my house to even do grocery shopping, much less returning a product..... I'm keeping it and using it, but it's NOT a touch-screen and HP doesn't have a driver for this model to download a missing device driver for it.
