This is a great laptop. It is very sleek... not too thick or heavy. 12GB of RAM is terrific, can have a multitude of tabs open in an Internet browser and multiple programs open all at the same time without any problems and the Core i7 processor keeps the computer humming along nicely. With the SSD booting up and shutting down takes a matter of seconds. Although with a nice fast processor like the Core i7 the battery life on this computer is a bit limited. If you are going to be doing a lot of work which requires processor power (and/or you need the screen to be bright in order to see the screen) you will want to be plugged up to a power source.

A great buy for my son's school work! Loads very quickly due to the SSD and is easy to use. Small issues with some simple games not working with the video drivers but overall a very solid device!

The computer runs amazing and is fast even multi tasking. The only down fall is the battery don’t last as long as it’s suppose.

4.9 stars really, if only for a backlit keyboard. That said, i7 8gen, 12gb DDR4, reasonable size SSD, touchscreen, and wireless AC. Once you jettison W10 S mode (horrifically abysmal), most would be more than satisfied with this device esp. if you can catch the $150 off sale price. Obviously not for gamers, will satisfy a broad spectrum of mid to advanced users not requiring whiz bang graphics. HP does a decent job with updates for bios, drivers, etc. where the latter seems to be largely satisfied by Win updates. Go for it, unless you want to spend more which is easy to do for stuff most folks would even realize. ;)

Nice looking device. It is definitely faster then my old Chromebook but I can hear the fan. Is this normal? I think it's making me a bit crazy. Will I get used to the sound? Also, when you type on the keys it is rather loud (someone mentioned this in another review). The price and specs were right but hearing the fan nonstop is wrong!

So far I love everything about this laptop. It is fast and efficient for daily use. I use it for school work, streaming and leisure.

Good computer for the cost. Speed is pretty fast and I love the touch screen. I’m not that techy so it works for my occasional needs.

I am very happy with my purchase. A year later and its still performing like new. Great value for the price.

Doesn’t hold a charge for super long, but it’s run fast for me with no issues! Nothing else about it that would hold me back from recommending it!

Works wonderfully! It is fast enough & has plenty of storage for my work & personal stuff.

Pros: Great graphic quality. Fast. Quiet keyboard. Super camera quality for work-from-home & live meetings. HP online support are quite helpful, when presented w/serial number of the recent purchase. Really easy to install and get up and running. Walks you right through process. Cons: Windows 10's EDGE conflicts with Chrome and using the 2 search engines creates unpredicatable functional conflicts. I had to disable software safeties in Windows 10 to install Chrome and if you need to use ZOOM, you will HAVE to have Chrome. Also, next time I'll buy a laptop with a backlit keyboard. Taking it in to GeekSquad this week b/c it cannot detect my 2nd monitor, despite purchase of 2 different types of cables. Lastly... and this is a software matter and not an HP shortcoming... little benefit in having purchased a laptop w/a larger monitor when 1/5 of the view is always an advertisement. Seems to be no way around that.

I use my laptop for my business, get performance and ease of use, the speed is more than I expected and the using the Internet has been a smooth surf, its only drawback is the keyboard is not backlight. I would recommend it to a friend,

I love my laptop. My old one was getting too old and the screen was too small. Since I am working at home now I needed something a little more robust. Bigger screen and bigger keys (more spread out). Great price too.

Reasonable price, easy to use, great memory space and Core i7 can't beat.
