I've been using these Chinese HP laptops since they were Compaqs. I consider these things as disposables. Don't store anything on them; use as smart terminal to server. Don't expect too much. This is the same basic unit as last one, which lasted a little under two years. This one is a little faster with more memory. So what happens? 1. All HP laptops, in my experience , have bad screen hinges. The last 5 or 6 of mine have failed. I'm able to repair them, but for the average user it would be a show stopper. The hinges on this new unit are no different in design, though no failure yet. 2. The connections from screen to processor are weak. On the unit just retired, screen image was intermittent, and depended on the position of the lid. Clearly a "loose wire." On this new unit, I am getting instantaneous blackouts during page change on internet functions. This appears to be signal interrupts at some point, rather than a hardware issue. And it dosen't affect usage because of the timing. I'll watch it and deal with it if it gets worse. I hate the Elan touchpad. It's the same in the previous unit. Sensitivity in scrolling and button clicks is inconsistent no matter how they're set. Scrolling control issues, particularly with older MS Office products, which do not exist on other Win 10 HP laptops with non-Elan touchpads. So, for the price- it's like living with an old truck (or spouse) as long as you adapt to the quirks.

I bought this for my aunt that is not tech-savvy and she loves it. Easy to set it up, a 17-inch screen not to mention the price. good deal.

I love this laptop it gives me the speed that I need combined with the storage space I was looking especially now that I am telecommuting

This computer had everything I needed for my work. I was really surprised at the price too. It was on sale right when I needed it.

It's an HP, so you won't be disappointed. Loads fast, beautiful screen display with crisp colors and graphics. HD quality is superb. My son has the same laptop, and he uses it for gaming and he just loves it. I'm very please with the quality and the ease of you. I highly recommend it.

It's hard to find inexpensive laptop with decent amount of memory. Most come with 8gb ram, which is nothing these days. This one has 16hb, which I consider a bare minimum. Unfortunately, it has stone age hdd instead of sdd, that's why I took one star off. Other than that, it's an ok laptop for light office tasks. One good thing to note - it has good compatibility between it's parts, so it pretty stable, unlike most other Windows laptops.

This is a great computer: however, the Elan touchpad has been a pain to work with. I wanted to turn off several of the features. It was essentially impossible until a computer wizard I know helped me through the process. It required the downloading of the right driver. Nowhere was this explained adequately. I tried Best Buys Geek Squad but could not get through to them due to high demand for their services. I tried over several days.

Easy setup. Large screen size. Very fast computer.

I have no complaints on this laptop, the performance and sleek light weight design. It’s quick performance no lag.

Purchased this laptop when it was on sale. It is very fast and the 17.3" screen is great. Truly a Best Buy.

The value is incredible. A 17 inch laptop with Ryzen and AMD Vega for under $1000 is insane. With that said they had to make up cost somewhere 3 things are holding this laptop back, anemic wifi card 433mbps is weak for 2020 and the 5400rpn mechanical hard drive is a slap in the face to this machine and the screen resolution is really bad with terrible viewing angles. This laptop is excellent for business and light use.

bought to work from home. standard programs, easy use. light weight. battery is good.

I was looking for something with a decent processor, ram, and storage...this is exactly what I needed and it was a good price. I didnt have to settle for something with less memory or storage...1TB is great so I can keep all my files on my laptop. The only thing is I wish it had SSD instead of HDD but not a biggie.

My old laptop finally gave up the ghost. I walked into Best Buy, looked around at way too many computers and went looking for a sales person. I found a young man and told him my requirements, He showed me exactly want I was looking for. About 30 minutes later I walked out with all the software loaded on it. Great deal!

I bought this laptop as I was in need of one. This one seemed to fit my needs most and I’m very pleased with the purchase. Speeds are incredibly fast, sound quality is top notch, screen resolution is perfect. Like any computer or laptop you can hear that it’s running but it’s pretty quiet compared to others in my opinion. Overall this is a great laptop and should be bought if you’re in need of one.
