High Defintion movies and picture editing are mainly why I purchased it; however, I also enjoy a gaming. Gaming on this monitor is ok, but not the best. Graphic intensive games look great while the character is not moving, but once the action picks up, there is a noticeable stutter. If need a monitor mostly for media and screen size I would definitely recommend this, but if you are a hardcore gamer, definitely save up and get a higher frequency monitor.
