They were not full sheet highly detailed color pics. Also, 10 -12 pages were just in black text. None were full sheets, and yet it is already only half full. Ink cost way too much. I am sorely dissapointed.

I'm sorry you weren't able to print more in color. Ink usage of the cartridge (unless it was damaged or defective) will determine how long it lasts in your particular printer. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the air is dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
- Most people have found that the XL version of the cartridges are a much better value.
- Using the black-only setting, when appropriate, will save on colored ink usage.
- Shut the printer down between uses; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- Consider getting Instant Ink. The subscription plans let you pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com
When a cartridge is low on ink to begin with, or it appears that poor page yield was due to a defect, contact the seller.
