Own the unit for over 5 years, and printed more than 10,000 pages, before the print head crapped out. I use generic ink and cartridges with resetable chips. Cost around $30 and the cartridges filled and you get 100 ML refill bottles. Can't complain on ink consumption now that it is cheap to run the machine.

Genuine HP replacement printheads worth the cost

I'm not a fan of paying more money, but at least you're guaranteed to get a quality product. My printer was streaking every other print job and a new HP printhead solved my problem right away

I have followed all recommended "fixes" to no avail. Now, not only can I not print anything, I have to wait for HP to replace the product.
