I had a difficult time setting up the wireless functions. I had other wireless printers and had no problem with setup. I returned the printer, it wasn't worth the trouble.I tried on a MAC Book Pro

    Awful. Just awful.

This is the worst printer I've ever owned. To date, in 7 months of ownership, it has printed twice. Set up is insanely complicated and has to be repeated constantly. I spent more money than the printer cost paying someone to troubleshoot when my own troubleshooting didn't help, including on the phone with HP. Then I had to do it all over again with HP the next time I tried to use it because the thing never maintains the connection. This has disrupted my work to a considerable degree and I'm ready to throw it out the window. It's still under the 1 year warranty but only for troubleshooting. Seriously?? And of course it's too late to return it to Best Buy. Best Buy customer service is currently awful! Just be prepared to go around in circles for simple things without resolution.

    When it works it's fine...

We bought this September 2020. In August 2021 HP support had to send us a replacement because it stopped printing black. I spent over an hour troubleshooting with help of the support representative just to find out it was a defective printer. Received our new one that same month and it is now January 2022 and it is happening again. Only this time my warranty is expired since they did not renew it after sending me the new printer. Did you know that when you purchase from HP they only allow you to speak with a representative while your product is under warranty?! I didn't. We currently have a case open to dispute this but I doubt HP will help us out. So now here I am with a VERY LIGHTLY used printer that doesn't work 16 months later. Not to mention the hours I have spent troubleshooting various issues- including connecting to new WiFi after moving. What a waste of my time and money. I am so disappointed and HP products will no longer be purchased in our family.

Awful print quality after a few months

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Worked great for a few months, but now (after 1 year) the print quality is horrible even though I have a lot of ink left. Because the prints are so bad, it’s now unusable even after cleaning the cartridges and running the alignment and automatic cleaning processes. I’m really disappointed with this printer.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has caused you and your son such inconvenience. I can wholly understand why this would be a frustrating and otherwise dubious start to owning a new printer, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help you remedy the situation.

I can’t tell from your review what issue your printer faces or why it won’t work, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Hi Zora, thank you very much for taking time to review the product. I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience. I understand the quality of a printed document is not as expected. The procedures in this document should help with ink streaks or smears, and other print quality problems: http://hp.care/2uHBPvr If this does not resolve the problem, I would recommend contacting HP Support: http://hp.care/2bjG4nE

Good for Photo Print Work but

Easy to setup, small footprint, S-L-O-W printing documents. I have run a couple of photo prints and it does a good job with that. Unfortunately, it will be relegated to the photoprint jobs while I find a different printer to handle the rest of the household.

    Terrible Scanner

This printer is small and lightweight, which is what I wanted, but forget trying to scan anything with it. It's almost impossible to get a good scan of a document. As a printer it's passable but you get what you pay for.

Terrible printer! Go with another brand

The first month of owning this printer it worked perfectly fine. Without any explanation or reason everything went south. I have had this printer for about a year now and it NEVER connects to my computer. The HP app interface is awful and can never pick up the printer. To even be able to print anything I have to reconnect the printer after every page I print out. Invest in a higher quality printer or better yet go with an entirely different bran and save yourself the headache.

You get what you pay for...

Bought this printer 4 years ago and had nothing but problems with it. If you go long periods not printing anything, the ink cartridge will dry out and you're left paying another $30 for cartridges. Just replaced the black cartridge and low-and-behold, the printer doesn't recognize it (even though it is a genuine HP cartridge). HP's tech support is a joke. Part of their troubleshooting is "Do you subscribe to Instant Ink?" I will NEVER buy an HP printer again.
