    Best desktop I've ever owned.

I've got the AMD 3.2 A8 quad 4 chip with 8GB ram, and a 1TB hard drive. Man! This thing is lightning fast, even two years after I've had it, and loaded down with software. I wasn't looking for it at the time, but it even makes a decent entry level gaming puter. Since I've had it over two years, I plan on replacing the hard drive with a 3TB 7200rpm and adding an SSDI this summer, just as a precaution, but the rest of the system is pure awesomeness for the price. I highly recommend it. It's the only HP that's been worth the money to date. Oh, if money allows, I'll upgrade the RAM as well.

I have purchased HP machines similar to this one for our office with no problem. This particular model seems to be put together like a plastic toy. Returned it for the Asus A10

Best priced Desktop Computer for a small office

I've purchased eight of these A8 HP Desktop computers and two were refurbished. One of the refurbs had to be sent in for repair. HP shipped a box FedEx to my office, I placed the defective computer in it and FedEx picked it up shortly after I called. The product was repaired and returned within four business days. If service is your concern about warranty work, HP is top shelf. Some of the eight were bought five years ago, a couple four years ago and one last year and all are working without errors. Very nice, well designed and I do not purchase an HP system with less than 8GB of memory as even though the HD has plenty of space, that initial memory is very important for speed.

I had to return two of these computers in a three day period. Every time I would turn on the computer, a "system thread exception not handled" error came up on a blue screen of death. This accrued after I updated the graphics card, bios system and 80+ window's updates. I don't know if I just got two bad computers in a row but I would not buy any HP product. I ended up spending $130 more on a Dell computer (which I didn't want to spend). So far the Dell computer has been great.

There are less expensive options for desktops, but the processor speed on this model is light years faster than those. This PC definitely works best with a hard line internet connection if you're wondering about that.

Awful computer for any level gamer

Overall absolutely horrible computer. Not at all happy I have a laptop with near the exact same specs and it is amazing. This computer runs world of warcraft at around 12fps on its lowest graphics setting. Normally on my laptop I run around 60fps, buyers do not believe this will run your games fine. Also even after updating bios and every windows update will not stay connected to the internet via Ethernet constantly disconnects. Only stays connected via wireless. Also has no expansion slots to upgrade graphics card on mobo only memory expansion. Terrible unit for anything other than maybe office work.

Bought this computer for family use. Put Microsoft office and iTunes on it then it crashed. Wouldn't turn on anymore. This was the 2nd day of use. Returned it and got a replacement. I'm sitting in front of it now with the blue screen of death despite manually restarting it. This is the worst!

Low End Computer by todays standards...

For the price this computer isn't all that bad but HP's support isn't all that good. HP loads the PC up with "crapware" and didn't give me the full 1 year warranty I should have received on this unit. Hp's website is useless as far as tech support or customer support. I think I can make the PC work for me since I will only be using it for email and internet but if I have any important work to get done I'll use my Dell or Lenovo.

    HP Poor Customer Service

Brand new right out of the box WIFI connection would not work. Called HP, after speaking to many different people, and being transferred many times, and finally speaking to someone I could understand, HP Tech Support said that the WIFI card was not covered under warranty but they would send a technician to look at it, and it would be $150 service fee + the cost of any other parts they need to fix it. NO LIE, TRUE STORY! I LOVE BEST BUY but will never buy another HP as long as I live! I should have just taken it back to Best Buy when that happened, they would have taken care of me but HP DID NOT.

In the past 2 days of ownership this computer has crashed 15 times. Each time I recieved a message stating there was a system thread exception error and the blue screen of death appears. I spent over 2 hours with HP support to no avail and will be returning this for another model as soon as the roads are cleared. I have always been pleased with HP products so I have to assume the AMD processor has something to do with it.
