What a great laptop for the price; purchased back in 2016 and it's still going strong. These things were built tough and I love the Windows 7 Pro it came with. Have been using it without the biometric sensor since I thought the hardware wasn't installed, BUT... After browsing some HP Support site and finding 3 different drivers off HP Support, I can now log in with a swipe. If you contemplate this PC and the sensor isn't working with W7Pro then you'll need (Validity Fingerprint Sensor Driver, HP Client Security Manager, and HP ProtectTools Security Manager). All accessible from https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitebook-8470w-mobile-workstation/5212917.....I'm sure if it comes with W10 then you might be able to use the Windows security Biometrics. If you need a great, stable and inexpensive PC then this is a great buy!

PC is extremely fast, put a 512 GB SSD in and has surpassed expectations. One never needs to buy a new PC for over $1000 when one can get excellent refurbished PC's here!

Very good for a refurbished laptop. The solid state drive is fantastic - it boots up in just a few seconds (almost as fast as a chromebook). Everything on the laptop looks new, even though I can tell it is an older model.

Webpages and documents open super fast. I use this computer for programming college courses.

Got the job done when I needed a laptop for school

This laptop is just as described, high quality, fast and easy to use.

This is a really nice laptop for the price and feature set. Very well done refurbish; keyboard appears new or near new. Lots of RAM and Win7 is a great platform and the core i5 in the system and the onboard graphics is enough to handle almost all computing duties including some CAD. My only complaint is the reseller didn't bother making sure all of the Windows updates were completed for the software image. This was not an issue for me but it could be for some because Microsoft has a bug in the Windows 7 updater. I got around it by researching and finding out what KB patches to install and eventually got the updater to work correctly but some may not be able to do this. Your workaround would be to just install the Microsoft OEM version of Windows 10 (cheap option but no MS support) or buy the retail version of Win 10. I chose to keep Win 7 for now and it's working just fine for me with all necessary Windows updates in place. I like this system so much I bought a 2nd one.

Cannot believe the speed with the 3rd Gen i5 processor! Once I got the PC to update which took going to HP site and downloading available driver updates and BIOS then it started to take MS Updates. I do really prefer W7 PRO to W10!!! Would've been nice if PC came somewhat updated but then again maybe there was a reason for this???

Purchased this HP to replace a 10 yr old HP that served us well. Super quick boot up and easy to operate. Nice quality work on the refurb side.

So far so good. Laptop has exceeded expectations so far and this will be updated if it changes.
