Returned the laptop to best buy because I received the refurbished item with a port not working properly, also it was too heavy for me and slow to load but that is how the laptop works (I know cause I had one while working for big corp). wouldnt recommend item unless you are looking for something that doesn't have the speed you are looking for and offers basic necessity.

I bought this to supplement my Apple products as my sewing machine company uses Windows based software only. It was recommended by a tech orientated friend and has lived up to my expectations. Set up was uncomplicated.

Purchased a refurbished HP for their reputation for dependability. It's for light use without Internet access or gaming. So, it works well. Some minor cosmetic issues, but nothing obvious. I'm pleased.

I needed a basic, internet-friendly laptop for my mother to replace her old one that recently died and this one works out perfectly for what she needs (internet and email).

Bought it for my mom and she loves it. It’s perfect to check emails or scroll Facebook.

This laptop is lovely so long as you keep to light use and do not upgrade to Windows 10. I repeat, DO NOT upgrade to Windows 10 on this laptop, despite the fact that it meets the hardware requirements posted on the Microsoft website.
This laptop kept up to my expectations at first. Using it for light school work and research pans out ok. However, about one month after I installed Windows 10 (about six months after I purchased the laptop, no problems until the installation), my laptop began to overheat increasingly often. Now, simply having more than five tabs on google chrome open simultaneously will knock it out.
It is not simply a problem with chrome. Anything more than typing up some documents or checking my email puts me at risk for an unexpected shut-down.
I have even recently attempted cleaning the dust out of my laptop using compressed air. It shows no signs of improvement, and it should be noted that I am experienced with computers and did not clean it incorrectly or in a way that might damage the hardware.
So essentially, if you enjoy Netflix, YouTube, videogames (no matter how light), or anything even minorly hardware-intensive, stick to the preinstalled Windows 7.

the product was broken when I received it. I had to return it to the store. And buy a more expensive laptop.

ON my 20th day after purchase and doing many updates to get the computer to work smoothly... My intel RST service stopped working. At the same time, my internet browsers don't load fast or at all. My E button keeps detaching from the keyboard and NOW within 30 days I'm being told they can't confirm a Genuine windows OP system. Per the website, my return window was 15 days. I can send it back to HP but I've down that with other computers and they don't cover much. This is a refurbished computer but I thought I'd get a bit more time. This was a waste of money AND TIME as I attempted to fix the problems with no relief. I only use this computer to access the internet... FYI
