Before getting into the review of the product, I have to say that I am pleased with the seller I got this laptop from (Joy Systems). The laptop arrived way earlier than expected, and included everything I needed for it (charger, Windows 10 activation key). Nothing was damaged, and everything worked as it should. Now forward. Since I was upgrading from a pretty cheap (and big!) laptop, I found this HP to be miles better than what I had before. The case itself is pretty sleek and neat, and I love the feel of the keys (and that they're backlit!). It has all of the ports I need, minus the DVD/CD drive -- which is fine as I already have an external DVD/CD drive that I can use with it. A lot of reviews for this laptop tend to slam the screen and the resolution but, again, I was coming from a cheap laptop where all of my graphics were choppy and the colors were weird, so I was very easy to please as far as resolution and image/video quality goes here. The only things I didn't like about this laptop was the sound quality (even at full volume I could barely hear anything), and the really loud fan. Not sure if it's just my specific laptop, but when the machine starts working hard it sounds like a jet engine. I didn't get a SSD for this laptop, because even though I'm picky I am also cheap, but I suspect that if you're running this laptop with an SSD that it sings. I don't want to go through the pain of upgrading to one, but eventually I might. Overall, this is a pretty decent laptop. It is small, it's fast, and you'll be able to get your work done on it -- and more! Highly recommended.

I like the overall functionality and speed of the laptop; very reliable and capable device. However, the battery life is surprisingly short. It doesn't last more than two hours when not plugged in.

prefect size for me but screen had wore out spots indicating light damage. other than that its a great first time laptop for anyone. I recommend it.
