I chose this for the touchscreen tablet mode and the HP pen support. It's great for note taking and drawing. This laptop is solidly built without much flex and has gorilla glass for screen protection. It's nice to have robust IO with pretty much everything you could need such as HDMI 2.1 and USB A. No card reader though. The screen is just bright enough with good color, but it's only 60hz and mine has some IPS backlight glow. I'm happy enough with the screen though as I didn't want OLED and it does have AMD freesync support, perfect for light gaming with the surprisingly capable 780M gpu. Fans are pretty quiet I only notice them when under heavy load and they never get loud. Battery life is excellent, my first windows laptop I don't need to keep battery saver on and can get me at least 8 hours light use, more with power saving. Overall I'd say this laptop is perfect for my needs.

A great computer for $650 on sale, very powerful processor (AMD 8840HS) and good integrated graphics too (AMD Radeon 780M) for this price. I am very satisfied with it, it has served me well for the past 4 months. Battery life is good, I get away with charging every other day (always keeping it above 30%) and it charges very quickly with the adapter it comes with. I am very careful with it so I cannot speak to its durability in cases of drops or bumps, but it feels quite sturdy. I also do not use it in tablet mode very often at all. I am cautious and don't dare twist the hinges so much. But it does feel solid. Only concern is the 16gb RAM. While suitable for most tasks, it would be better with 24 or 32gb. But that isn't enough of a drawback to my 5 star rating. If you can get this for under $700, count yourself lucky!

I’m seriously impressed with this PC! The AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor is super fast and handles everything I need. Add the AMD Radeon graphics, and games and movies look and run fantastic. The PCIe NVMe SSD makes everything lightning quick—no more waiting around for files to load. The WUXGA IPS display is bright, sharp, and has great color, and the Gorilla Glass gives me peace of mind knowing the screen is durable. I love how fast it charges with HP Fast Charge—50% in 30 minutes is a lifesaver. AMD FreeSync makes gaming buttery smooth, and the Windows CoPilot key is a really cool feature for getting stuff done faster. The 5MP IR camera is awesome for video calls, and the sound quality from the Poly Studio Audio speakers is top-notch. Plus, with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, everything stays super fast and connected. I recently started a website design business and this touch screen laptop is awesome! It does everything I need it to and the speed on it is amazing. It works well with all of my software upgrades such as Canva. I would highly recommend this computer for any person who is running a small business!

This is really nice. I bought it for my two kids and it was a special price. My kids studies, plays games, and enjoys it. Touchscreens are an advantage and it's a decent size so they can use it anytime, anywhere. It's quite light and thin. Plus, it has a lot of capacity. I'm lucky to get this great performance at an amazing price. I want to change my computer next time!!

This is one of my best purchases and totally worth the price. Ryzen 7, 1 TB SSD, 16 GB RAM is the best we can find at this range. I would recommend this to my friends and everyone here. User experience wise, it’s sleek and very easy and comfortable to use. The 2 in 1 feature is splendid with smooth control. Also, this comes with a lazer sharp LED screen. My wife loves it. I got this laptop to use toward my goal of starting a small business, and so far it has been everything I needed and more. It holds a charge for around 8hrs consistently while in use, it has lots of storage space for my saved files, and it handles the hundred tabs/windows I have open at any given time without a hitch while I'm doing research and designing marketing graphics online. The metal casing feels sturdy. It does have a very glossy screen though, so I invested in a matte screen protector for it to cut down the glare. I also love the flexibility of being able to flip it around to use as a tablet basically since it has touch-screen sensitivity. This is easily one of the best investments I've made this year.

Now that I have started school I needed a reliable laptop that would be easy to carry and hold enough storage for my work and so far this has exceeded my expectations! I charged my laptop and was able to use it for 3/4 days without having to recharge!

I was watching BB through several sale cycles before finally pulling the trigger on this one. My 2019 HP pavillion 15xx still runs pretty well. Considering it gets its miles mostly streaming youtube videos after years of being primarily a Microsoft Office machine. But the battery is almost done (i dont take it places anyway), and a few keys stop working spuratically. My cat always stomps over the keypad, cracking the AFTERMARKET wristguard cover i already had to replace, and the volume was doing its own thing. Still, it's getting the job done impressively well for the mileage - think of a 5 yo Lexus with 280k miles that needs a new timing belt and a few cosmetic repairs. So because i am lazy and obsessive, i took off work to statch this up...then proceeded to NOT set it up for 2 or 3 weeks. I like my old HP, but the volume issue became irritating enough to unbox. First glance, its sleeker, slimmer, and more modern looking just case alone. It's smaller - 14" comp. To 16+ im used to. But i dont need a huge screen just for screwing around, im just glad its clean. Graphics are nice, but boring if you stick with stock. I have, bc i havent been motivated to personalize. I actually havent tested all the hyped up features, so i cant speak to that. The AI I experienced was not by choice, but i do like getting things sumarized for me by default on top of my results. Of course, dont blindly trust it, but it saves me a ton of time reading through 2k reviews, like getting cliff notes for WAR AND PEACE.Z. I dunno, im okay with it so far, well see. Um, set up was prompted and simple, though i havent tested the completeness of it, but i assume my pics and autofill came with my chrome account. You can choose to skip specifics if u arent into personalizing your homescreen right away. Thats why the default, Bing of course, and all Micro prop is mine on startup- it did change my phone home screen when i linked accounts, which i dont really like but havent changed yet lol. I did go back to using chrome though because there was so much annoying pop ups and unwanted interruptions that i got mad and noped out. Google search is trash now, but it beats constant pop ups, opt out enrollment in everything, and 5 minute loading time per page of based independant engines. Im still getting the keyboard layout down, since its slightly different, but its backlit!!! Which lacked in my old HP. Also, my old HP was intel 5 which worked great even today. But im not a gamer, so i just need it fast and reliable and intuitive enough for watching youtube and sometimes writing or searching. Since i was hearing more often that it was better and id only ever had intel, I really just wanted Ryzen 7 on HP or a Surface (bc gen 9 was 2x the price open box at best, and good luck sniping that up). Surface looked good and i trust microsoft (for machine quality, not anything else), but reviews were mixed and then i learned the keyboard is sold separately. For $700 open box, hard no. S my D. I wanted to spend less than 500 and had about 100 in gift cards. Cheaper brands or older processors could be found for 300, and i knew i5 was good. i7 with larger screens 17" were often found for 400 or less on sale new! But i had my criteria and my choices were an HP, Samsung, or Dell. Dell was competitive, and i almost chose it bc it had all the same things as HP i wanted, but about 100 less. My list included Ryzen 7(or better), touchscreen, 1T, 32G minimum, i think 8 core? I cant remember but it HAD to be faster than i had before, backlight, and less than 600. Between these candidates, i compared graphics, camera quality, reputation, and having some AI potential. Dell was cheaper and bigger and checked all the boxes, but had a lot of negative reviews and nobody recommend them. I only considered samsung bc i have a galaxy and wearabes and was curious about AI and they had a lot of sales. In the end, it underpreformed next to HP even if it met all my needs. It was also never under 800 with all the features. I chose the Envy for its features mentioned above, high cust reviews and personal experience with the brand, and cost. It sold for 1100, but open box in excellent condition 15 mins away had one for just over 500 (i think new ones were on sale, making it less than usual). With 100 in gift cards, i think i spent under 450 incl tax. So i got everything i wanted. But i still havent used most of the features, completed setup, or played arou d much. So far, everything seems to work fine playing youtube. No troubleshooting or failures, and the res is great. Getting used to the smaller keyboard but no buffering, volume or connection issues, so no complaints. So far. I dont see yet why ryzen is better than intel- seem the same, maybe its a gamer perk i dont appreciate, but i need more time with it. Just hope my cat doesnt step on this one.

This is my personal laptop that I carry along side my work laptop everywhere I go! I love the battery life and how it folds up. It is a very capable machine with just almost everything I like. In fact, I am thinking about buying a second one to leave on the coffee table. There are a few improvements I would have liked but they aren't deal breakers: - The frame around the touch screen is a bit thin and I worry that it may crack during harsh handling in travels. I purchased the Geek Squad Laptop Protection and haven't had to use it yet. - The speakers are definitely not the loudest, but i use headphones. - It doesn't have a number pad on the side. - It would be awesome if it had a built in stylus.

Doesn't overheat when i use it to play games, watch show or do work. The screen is very bright, the touch pad is smooth, the keyboard lights up, everything is good

I honestly love this laptop. I needed a lightweight but sturdy laptop for school that was also affordable. I got this while it was on sale. I am sooo glad i made this purchase. This laptop is 2 in 1 so i love thay i can also use it as a tablet to take notes or draw. It is also fast. I recommend to any students looking for a laptop.

I'm a college student who was looking for a lightweight, portable laptop that can support both my academics and my personal needs. After owning this laptop for nearly a year, it has been holding up very well for me and still works like new! Although my studies don't require anything too intensive from my laptop, my research often leaves me with tons of tabs open at once, and the impressive processor handles that just fine. I do some light rhythm gaming, which requires precise performance and minimal lag. This laptop is subject to overheating, but experiences little to no performance dips when running my games. HP laptops in general tend to have keyboards that are a bit clunky and stiff my opinion given I have a lightweight touch, but the clicks are crisp. I rarely use the backlit feature, but it offers two brightness settings which is nice. BIG touchpad that's smooth and responds nicely to both clicking the pad and just tapping it. Screen display is sharp but experiences some glare. Battery life is good.

Very good. Works well. Battery life is good. I use it for school and work. Could last an 8 hour shift. Best thing about it is its touch screen and the 360 hinge to fold it like a tablet. Theres an option for the light up keyboard, I find it very useful when i'm working in the dark at night. Personally I would've gotten the OLED display but the LED works too.

I love it, and use it like a desktop. I HDMI my laptop to another monitor using it this way 90% of the time and if need be i can unplug and take it with me. It's great.

I purchased my HP envy in November '24 and as of now (April 7th 2024) it has gone with me everywhere in my backpack. The build quality still feels brand new (I do treat it with a lot of care by never lifting it with just one hand, avoiding storing it for long periods of time in extreme cold/heat, and always closing the lid slowly and carefully). It's fast and feels powerful for what I do (just cloud based services like Google docs/sheets, notion for note taking, streaming YouTube/movies, and some light gaming (Minecraft). The only problem has been a few software bugs, most have gone away quickly except for one, whenever I connect my Bluetooth headphones it never plays audio, even though the system says it is. My headphones (Samsung Galaxy buds) have 0 issues connecting to any other device besides this one, and I've updated all my drivers and tried several online fixes but haven't had any success. Though this could just be an unrelated software issue. My only problems with the hardware are the screen that can be hard to see with direct sunlight, and the speakers are a little quiet even at full volume. Otherwise this laptop is 5 stars!!
