Print quality is decent. Wifi doesn't work.

I tend to buy inexpensive printers and when they quit working (which they always do), recycle them and buy a new one. So I don't usually have high expectations from printers in this price range, and this particular one certainly did not exceed them. First off, print quality is good. I have not printed any photos on photo paper, but have printed a lot of graphics-heavy stuff. Been pretty pleased with that. Duplexing "works" except by "works" I mean it may or may not work, and will arbitrarily decide to grab a new piece of paper rather than print on the second side of the first one. It works about half the time, which means you really can't use it. USB connectivity is AOK but wifi doesn't work. The printer will say it's connected, and maybe 1 out of 10 tries to print to it will succeed. I've tried from two different computers, too - same result. I've been working on and programming computers since the DOS days, so I like to think I know a thing or two about them. Printers are evil pieces of demon spawn sent to Earth to torment us who just want a printout at 11pm and don't want to spend 45 minutes to get one piece of paper printed. And.... this printer does nothing to change my opinion. I'd say keep on looking at others f you were contemplating this model.

    Not great for photos

Pretty disappointed. Our Epson got crushed during our move and we needed a replacement. We just printing a bunch of photos for our new apartment and couldn't hang any of them. There was always a slight hue to the photos we printed and nothing printed sharp. We went through ink quick and it doesn't have individual color cartridges, so when any color runs out, you need to replace the whole cartridge. Maybe my hopes were too high for a hundred dollar printer, but for photos you'll be a little disappointed. It was faster than our artisan, but that's not too big a benefit if they are soft and had a color cast. Our black and white photos kept printing with either a magenta or blue hue until we physically took out the color cartridge. I've had good luck with all my other HP products we use at work, but feel like this consumer level product isn't worth it. Unfortunately we will be returning for another Epson.

Not as good as HP printers we've had in the past.

It takes up a lot of space. Considering the much larger "footprint", it should at least have the ability to scan legal size paper. The arm that swings out to support the printed pages seems rather "cheap" and I'm afraid that it will get bumped and break off rather easily. I am disappointed with the way it handles double sided printing. It prints the front and then the back for each individual page, making it very slow. My old printer would print one side for all of the pages, and then you re-inserted the whole stack to print the other side. It was much more efficient. Our very old printers were of much better quality and not that much more expensive. I will admit that we bought this one without much research because it was on sale and we needed a printer right away because our old one "died".

So the printer is amazing. I love having access to print when not at my actual computer desk. However, this printer has a HUGE drawback! I was charged $1.00 per sheet of paper that I printed after I printed my 300 sheets in the month of September. As someone who utilizes my printer for a lot of business, this was quite shocking. Yes, it's awesome that ink is shipped to me before I even run out. But, I already had extra ink, and I'm finding that the cost problem is not the ink but running the sheets of paper through my printer. I will never purchase another printer like this. I'd rather pay more upfront and go purchase ink when need be then have a company who has no clue what my business requires of printing to tell me that "oh, you overprinted, so we're gonna charge you $1.00 per each additional 25 sheets!"

This is the third HP printer I have bought in 10 years. I have been using computers for over 30 years. I bought this at Best Buy because it was on sale in a floor display, and my 4-yr-old printer had just died. Sadly, I had NO idea that it did not have a USB cord WITH it. No warning on the box, at all. And, of course, none of the Best Buy staff WANTS to speak to anyone over 40 or make eye contact with them. We had wandered among the displays a bit and were NOT ONCE asked if we needed any assistance. I bought it, left, fought with set up for about 8 hours, then went to an office store to buy a USB cable. Thank you HP, for cheaping out on MANY customers. Thank you, Best Buy, for not being considerate to ALL customers.

    Typical HP Printer

The initial set-up took a while but went off without a hitch. I subscribed to the HP instant ink program and I'm glad I did. This printer went through the color cartridge in less than 50 print jobs and not all of my print jobs were color. I also noticed that if this printer is on stand-by for a day or two it loses wireless connectivity with my network and my router is not more than 12ft away from my printer. If it's not a network connectivity problem the printer goes offline by itself and there is no other way that I found to bring it back online without powering it off and back on. Overall print quality is great but the wireless issues and the fact that it goes offline automatically forces me to drop my rating.

I was so happy with my printer when I purchased it. I'm a teacher and needed to print classroom resources in color without constantly having to buy ink...it's too expensive. I researched about instant ink and decided to purchase this printer based on the needs and what I would use it for. It was very simple to connect to my MacBook. The problem I have with this printer is it doesn't not stay connected to wi-fi. It stops in the middle of print jobs half the time and says printer isn't connected. I have to restart it several times before it prints and sometimes it starts the job over. Hopefully once I update the software it somewhat helps.

Unless you are a tech savvy person, I would suggest that no matter how much the salesperson insists you can install this easily on your own - DON'T try. Set up an appointment with Geek Squad, of which you should already be a member, and let them deal with it. I hit a brick wall called Gateway built into this printer which caused me many wasted hours on the phone and in the store. I finally gave in and after a near nervous breakdown, had Geek Squad come out. Never again will I try to do something like this on my own! But if I were rating the Geek Squad in home service, I would have given it at least a four star review.

First the good. The printer makes great copies and the little ink bottles last a long time. Now the bad. The printer is very difficult to set up and is not very intuitive. It is almost impossible to keep it from making a two sided copy. Even had the Geek Squad here and shortly after they left it defaulted back to making two sided copies. Still haven't figured out how to receive faxes. Overall, if you are not a tech savvy person avoid this printer, it will frustrate you. Epson tech support is also sketchy.

I am very unhappy with this product. We bought it in order to have wifi printing capabilities from our various devices in our home. We bought this one based on ratings & the HP name. The setup was difficult and after two months of working with it, we still cannot print more than one doc at a time without turning the machine off & on. We get error messages. A call to HP only ended up with them suggesting we live the printer within 15 feet of the router. Not an option In our home. I'm very disappointed.

I ordered this printer because it was on sale. It was very easy to connect and you set up an e-mail address for the printer as well. You can send documents to the e-mail address from anywhere and it prints, which is why I gave it 2 stars. Now every time you need to print from your computer, you have to reset up the printer. You have to follow the initial steps to connect to your WiFi every time you need to print from your computer. Unless you save the document and then send it in an e-mail to the printer.

I had to upgrade since my trusty old HP printer wasn't compatible with Windows 10. It worked great initially, but lately it's been kinda off and on. When I send a wireless job or scan wirelessly to my computer, it sometimes doesn't do the whole job--like a part of the page won't have printed or scanned. Sending the job again usually does the trick, but that's still not how a printer should work. Otherwise, it's a pretty sleek, nice design.

Loads of errors and no support from HP. Probably one of the worst printers I've owned. It'll stop printing in the middle of a task. Tons of problems connecting and staying connected to wifi. If it wasn't for the ink program I'd ship this junk to the HP executives. I've also read reviews for other HP printers and it seems to be a theme. Only get this if you are very patient and like having discounted ink.

Was able to manually add the printer to both my wireless network and it appears on my list of available printers but the HP Easy Start software gets continually hung up on install so I am unable to scan documents to my computer. Would exchange for another brand of printer but don't want to eat the 30% restocking fee so now I'll need to spend additional money on a USB cable to connect the "wireless" printer.

I have had this printer for weeks now and cannot get it connected to my internet. I do not like the little buttons to enter the password. I have tried dozens of times to get it entered and still no luck. So I am left with a printer that I cannot use until I can get someone to come hook it up. I do not have a computer and am trying to use my iPad and iPhone. Very discouraged

To start off when this thing does actually manage to print it looks great colors are clean and its fairly fast as well. BUT this thing is allergic to wireless networks I have never seen a device so sporadic and fickle about staying on a stable network. Trouble shooting, reinstalling, checking drivers and looking through the forums have resulted in the purchase of an extender for my printer cable.

I followed the directions for setting up this printer even using the toll free number to help. They convinced me that the problem was with my laptop and 99.99 later said everything was good. I still have to call them every time I need to print anything. Not happy. This is the second wireless printer I've bought, when will they start working?

    Unreliable Connection

Although, my internet connection is great and I religiously followed the setup instructions, this printer only connects to my computer when it so pleases. Other times it simply will not connect and it suggests that I did not install the correct drivers (I did) or that my computer is offline (it isn't). It has been a real incinvinience. Do not recommend.

I bought this for school work, pictures, and for my husband's minimal work print outs. The picture quality is terrible and the page printing is just so so. The setup was pretty easy, but it had to be turned off and turned back on for the wifi to work once it goes idle. We ended up returning and spending a few dollars more on a Cannon.

This printer was nice, I was very happy to purchase it. But after a few pages of color print and when the levels start to get about halfway, the quality of the photos/text is GREATLY diminishes, pretty much useless. You'll need to completely replace the ink to get the quality back, and ink is not cheap. Will be trading it in for something else.
