Excellent top of the line computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spent a good month researching options available for a large screen computer with dependable processor that received good marks from Consumer Reports, computer store staff, and review sites. Have had great experience with HP in last 15 yrs, so upgrade computers and printers to newer HP's every time I'm ready to switch. Read a lot of negative hype on facebook about the new Windows 8. I don't see the problem. Sure, it was a change from my old XP, but I believe what really makes the difference for the person adapting is whether they also have a smart phone. It's not much different than operating a smart phone, I do lots of bookkeeping so I use keyboard and mouse more than touch screen, but I'm glad my husband talked me into touch screen. It's great for internet, facebook, games, and more. Was easy to set up & configure my router and wireless printer. Moving some of my files over has been more challenging, but the computer generally leads me through it OK without any tech help. My HP Pavilion laptop was a good workhorse for many yrs, but I knew its days were numbered trying to run QuickBooks for multiple businesses + other online software programs that were getting way too slow with only 500 MB ram. I'm not sure I'd recommend this for the retired person who just emails and dabbles on internet. More machine than you need & probably difficult to grasp all the functions. But for the business-minded professional who runs lots of applications, it's a must!

good at first
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not happy. The DVD drive broke the first time we used it. The On line geek squad could not help so now we have to pay to have them do a "house call". We have only had the computer one month! And, the DVD that is now missing within the computer contains patient data. So this is an urgent matter but we couldn't get on the schedule for 3 days! Unacceptable!

Started off great....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only had the computer for less than 30 days when the screen stayed black and wouldn't show a picture. You could hear a noise but...no picture. Tech support couldn't help and told me to take it in to be repaired. It is now in the Geek Squad shop getting repaired....been a few weeks. Not sure what went wrong.

Great for all around use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This CPU is very easy to set up, just unbox it and plug it in. If you have a Microsoft account all you have to do is sign in and it will set up this cpu like your others. Very quick and easy use with great quality mouse and keyboard. My only issue with the keyboard is that it doesn't have backlighting on the keys. Great picture and sound no latency with any usage as of yet (mainly just for casual use and light gaming, as well as office) but no problems. Very worth the investment.

A perfect computer !!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went looking for a simple and very modern computer without cables all over the place and no tower. This computer is just everything I was looking for and then some. First, very easy to set up, since there are no cables it makes it that much easier. Also has Beats audio and sounds very good. The touch screen is very easy to use and the wireless keyboard and mouse enhance the experience even more. Thank you HP.

Windows program will not update.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Windows tries to update, taking about 30 min. It gets to 99% complete but then crashes taking another 45 min. to undue what was accomplished. After about six tries I turned it over to a local company and they have had it for seven day's now and still trying to get it to download an update.
