Was a great machine for two years, then it suddenly shut off and now it won't boot at all. Troubleshooting produced no fix. Cannot remove battery, hard boot does nothing.

Do not like the light color lettering on the keys . . . very difficult to see. Wish I had made this observation at time of purchase!

The unit is easy to get hot and the fan is noisy. The letters on the key board is not very easy to see. As a matter of fact, one of the keys on the keyboard is not responding and I had to bring it back to the store to replace it.

will not connect to internet. then error message pops up about OneDrive not available. OneDrive (cloud type storage) comes with small amount of storage. Computer has plenty of storage but is programmed to use OneDrive which has little to no storage - attempt to make you purchase more OneDrive storage?? clock off by 3 hrs even though set for correct time zone. more problems. was not sent or given support instructions to fix problems on this brand new laptop. Called best buy store of purchase, clearly id'd myself by name, cell, email & order #. Best buy rep said to call 800# geek squad support. Wait time more than our & half where GS rep said to call HP 800#. 30 minute wait time for HP support. Returning this laptop since it's defective. Bad hardware, worse tech support.

My first HP laptop, not thrilled although it has a HD screen excellent pic the laptop gets very hot fast and then the noisy fan comes on very noisy. Would not recommend to a friend.

Performance and other features are good but too noisy fan and constantly running.

Sometimes the power button works and others it takes for ever for it to come on - I had an older Lenovo that I loved but not enough memory for it to work well with windows 10 I wish I had stuck with Lenovo

I loved my last HP computer. If only I could say the same about this one! The best way to describe the problems I am having with this brand new computer is to note that the HP operating system (OS) and Microsoft Office products speak two different languages. I have daily glitches where the screen flickers on an off, freezes, or shuts down whenever I am using an Office program. Sometimes, the fonts and visuals will randomly change with no explanation. I have contacted Geek Squad and HP twice and nothing they have done has offered more than a temporary fix.

I purchased this computer from Best Buy because of a positive recommendation from a person who buys computers for his business in Pgh, PA. Historically I've purchased all my computing equipment from Micro Center and have never had a problem. I've had problems with this computer from the beginning, but have been in PA for several weeks and have apparently allowed your 14 day return window to close. I've been told by Dave from your store that my only recourse is to come to your store with the computer and talk with a manager. If this can't be resolved I will not be able to recommend your store for computer purchases. I'm bringing the computer back today to do so.

Purchased this laptop this morning and will be returning it tomorrow. Bought this based on specs and the brand. The laptop runs hot even without having installed any additional software. The fans are so loud with a strong whistling sounds, almost felt like the laptop was about to take flight. Wifi connection was very low and at times disconnected. Very disappointed.

The new laptop has a great screen. It's fast and the battery is long lasting. Highly recommended. It handles a marine charting program with ease.

I've been using Dell for 10 years. I decided to try a different brand when my laptop quit working. I made a decision to purchase an HP laptop because of the price, hardware, and sleek look. Now, after my second time using the device, the laptop refuses to power on. I'm assuming the battery is defective. I'm going to go back to buying Dell after I return this garbage.

I would not recommend this computer. I bought in June of 2020 and have had continuous issues with it. Lost it driver was the first. Then lost sound. Next it quit charging in January of 2021 and they couldn’t figure it out so had to send to HP. Came back from them and wouldn’t charge again. Had to call them to do a complete reboot. Well here it is again in March and not charging again. I bought a lemon. I will have to say HP service has been great to try to fix it but this computer continues to have problems.

I saw the reviews warning against purchasing this laptop due to the loud fan, I assumed because I'm actually deaf in one ear it wouldn't bother me. I was so wrong. It is high pitched so it is impossible to ignore. I'm surprised HP hasn't addressed this issue. HP did try by downloading some updates & then wanted me to send it to the factory for further assistance. My feeling is a laptop that costs $900 should be amazing right out of the box.

I like the computer but have had out of date software issues that have taken many hours to get fixed w HP team support plus required signing up for HP software support contract.

What a waste of $800. After 3 months it is already off the HP for repair, it kept getting the blue screen and flickering, not to mention a bunch of other issues. HP Tried to fix it virtually, made me reset windows all together and then my speakers stopped working. Now, during a pandemic, while working from home I have no laptop because it takes 8-10 days for them to fix it and I am using a 10 year old computer. They don't give loaners unless it takes longer than 10 days. Last HP product I buy.

I got the HP Envy 17 inch and I like the laptop overall. There is one issue with the computer turning on and shutting down which is annoying to deal with for a brand new laptop.
