So after 1 year purchase. The screen breaks at the hinge from constantly opening and closing. I searched on google and it’s very common on the flip touch screen laptop. Just a warning be careful how you open it.

Please save yourself some money, time and nerve cells and avoid HP envy at all costs! This is the second HP envy that failed me. First one died on me a few years back, and i was able to return it as it was holidays extended return policy. Now this one did not die right away, but started to give me blue screen and freeze, every 20 min to couple hours. We did all kinds of updates, system reinstalls, spent hours on chat with HP support, sent it for repair, and... it crashed with blue screen within 15 minutes from getting it back from service center! I contacted hp service, and you know what they offered? To reinstall windows AGAIN!!!

Steller Laptop! Fast bootups works with my MPP pen and is overall a great experience. TL;DR Definitely recommend for the price point! Screen: The screen is okay, although I am unsure of the exact color accuracy the color purple is off compared to every other display I own. Manuel tweaking could most likely fix that. Despite that, it is very nice to look at. Audio: Great speakers and get quite loud. Definitely more than enough for media consumption. Keyboard & Trackpad: The keyboard is above average I haven't owned a laptop in the past 8 years however this one is a lot better than my old Alienware. This laptop has nice backlighting. The trackpad Is good. Speed: This laptop is very fast, mine has 3-second bootups and it amazing for productivity, light editing, and light gaming. For the gamers out there Fall Guys runs at 720p low at 60 fps, slime rancher runs at low 1080p at 60 fps and Dead by daylight at absolutely lowest possible graphics at 0 resolution scale runs at 60fps. Definitely impressive for a laptop without a discrete graphics card. I ran Firestrike, Time Spy, and Night Raid benchmarks on this laptop, the scores are 3090, 1217, and 12467 points. Compared to AMD 4700u laptops this laptop scores around 735 points higher on Night Raid (4700u averages 11732) Build Quality: The laptop feels really nice in the hand with its soft metal texture. The charger itself is very compact. The hinges are excellent. Webcam: It's a somewhat blurry webcam... Not that good but more than enough for school, work, or talking to friends. Battery: Heavily using this laptop with 85% brightness on balanced power mode gave me around 3 hours and 40 minutes of SOT. I have no point of comparison but for me, that is enough. Nitpicks: I believe since intel Iris Xe graphics are newer there are issues with their drivers and how they operate with certain software. Furthermore, this laptop can get really really noisy during use however putting it on silent mode fixes that.

    Fast, Functional Laptop

I've had this laptop for about a month now after trying a couple of others. I'm very impressed with it, and I think it's worth the extra money from other lesser models. First of all a note about HP: I seem to have the best luck with HP laptops. Other brands (especially looking at you, Lenovo) seem to have issues one way or another with initial setup and hardware issues. HPs for me have been very easy and free of issues. For this laptop in particular, I was nervous at first because its fan was loud during initial setup. Once in a while it will turn on and be a bit loud, but that's not very often, and the other features make that an easy thing to put up with. I love the aluminum chassis. The keys are very comfortable and typing feels very nice. The keyboard is a bit skewed to the left, but I've gotten comfortable with it. The number pad was a must for me, which is why this one was my choice over the similar Envy with more RAM (which I didn't really need anyway). I love the placement of the function keys (Home, End, etc., are big for me because I use them a lot when typing). I love the camera on/off and mic on/off buttons, and the backlit keyboard works well. The fingerprint sensor works really well and I like the placement. As for the guts, the 12 GB of RAM with the Optane is super fast. Unless you're doing some serious video editing, you don't need more than that. One month in and the computer is just as fast if not faster than day one. The SSD makes startup really fast as well. The screen looks wonderful and is really crisp and clean, even with some older programs. I don't use the touchscreen too much in the office, so I can't speak to that just yet. The speakers also sound very nice, and much much better than the Lenovo I tried. The placement of the ports is nice as well, with a USB on each side and a USB-C on the left. The left USB port is one that "opens", FYI. All in all, after trying a couple of other, less expensive options, I've settled on this one, and it might end up being my favorite laptop I've owned. You can't go wrong with it, IMO. To recap: Pros: --aluminum chassis --feel of the keys --buttons and placement --numpad --fingerprint sensor --screen --speakers --the i7 and Optane Cons: --fan can be a bit loud when running hard --keys skewed a bit to the left (but not a deal breaker) --price is more than I'd like to pay for a non-Mac (but the quality is nice)

This laptop was a lifesaver through undergrad and grad school. This computer may be light in weight but it packs a punch in its capabilities! Had for approximately 3 years now. It has held up well through countless hours of homework, zoom classes, and papers. 100% recommend.

Nice laptop! We lucked into a pre-Black Friday one-day price for this laptop making it a great value for a laptop loaded with features. It comes with the new version of the Intel Core i7 processor (version 11). Very quick at startup - only 10 seconds or less to the login screen. Fingerprint reader login works perfectly, screen resolution is good, and the touch screen seems to be very responsive. Build quality seems decent, and the Bang & Olufsen speakers offer a nice sound. The front-facing camera resolution is not as high as some other computers, but for occasional use, it's probably not an issue. The only minor complaint about this laptop is that when the keyboard is backlit, the letters on the silver keys are difficult to see during the day or when overhead lights are on. There is an easily accessible button to toggle the backlit keyboard on or off so it's not a big deal, but it might be a consideration for some.

LOVE this laptop! Setup and migration (from previous HP laptop) were so easy. Performance is fast, responsive, and intuitive. And the BEST feature (which I did not think I'd use at all) is the touch screen. Well done, HP!

As an accountant, I find this to be the perfect machine. It's got the 10-key pad, which is essential for my work, but is also fairly lightweight and compact. I can easily carry it with me to work from anywhere. And I like that the case is metal instead of plastic. The keys are a good size, have a comfortable feel, and make a nice clicking sound when I type. The SSD drive means it boots up really fast. I noticed that this most recent version has reduced the footprint even more than the last. And the fingerprint reader has been moved to the keypad, instead of the side of the computer where it didn't work very well. I also like that I can close the camera with the touch of a button if I don't want to be seen. My only issue is that it does tend to heat up when on my lap because of the vents on the bottom. It's fairly loud when the fan comes on, but it's super quiet otherwise.

I purchased this laptop to replace my decade old HP Pavilion M6. My first impression of the laptop was the quality of the material. The case is solid and strong and has a nice weight to it. The fingerprint reader is awesome, much better than the HP SimplePass on my previous laptop. The touch screen is fantastic and does not seem to leave fingerprints or smudges on the screen. The resolution is excellent as is the sound quality, as I have come to expect from HP laptops. The back-lit keyboard has two intensities, which is a nice change as I can dim it at night. This laptop is nice and fast and has no issues processing digital media or 3D renders. I am overly impressed with this laptop and would highly recommend it to anyone who looking to upgrade.

This laptop was bought to handle working on multiple documents in word or excel, doing research on internet, and for checking email. It handles having multiple things open at once without crashing or slowing down. It’s very fast to open web pages! I got tired of my old slow computer so this was a major upgrade. I also like the amount of storage it has for my pictures too. It’s a very comfortable and easy laptop to use. I’m very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

I love this laptop. Very lightweight. I upgraded from a Dell laptop and I'm satisfied with the purchase. The only thing that is a slight bother, is the fan is very noisy. The fan randomly comes on for a short period of time. Its an inconvenience when I am recording a meeting. However, it wasn't enough of a reason for me to return. Also I bought it Open-Box. Battery Life is great. This computer is mainly used for auditions, internet browsing and working remotely for my corporate job. I am able to do all that with ease. I do recommend this laptop.

I've only had the laptop for a month, but so far it's fantastic. Really light weight, speedy, huge hard drive, and good battery life. The touch screen is nice/convenient, as is the fingerprint log in. I haven't gotten a stylus yet but am considering using it more as a 'notepad'. I primarily use this for school work, some work-work and storing/editing photos. It's perfect for both. The USB-C port is helpful so I can 'swap' with my work docking station/monitors, etc. I love that it's so lightweight-my last laptop was like a boat anchor. This one I can tote around so easily.

After 2 years of ownership, I recommend this laptop. (newer version has 4Gb more memory) It is powerful enough to run Photoshop with no issues. Battery lasts 5-7 hours. The only problem I have had is when a hinge broke. The battery lasted the typical 2 years before it had to be replaced. My only gripe is the resolution is TOO high. The resolution it has should be for a 20+" monitor (like my desktop). 100% scale is hard to read, I typically have to have everything at 120% scale (fortunately WIN10 and above allows you to scale up)

I spent a great deal of time looking for 12 GB memory with a fast CPU speed (this one has 4.7 GH) with Windows 10 Home (not S) and finally found this one. I am not a gamer, but my husband suggested to go bigger and faster than what I had (8GB, 2.0 GH). Unfortunately, it also had a higher price tag than I wanted to spend ($899.99), but decided to go for it since it was on sale from $1049.00. I also purchased the MS 365 Personal (1 person) for $49.99 (normally $69.99) to be renewed annually and was downloaded online with ease to the my laptop. It has extras I didn't have on my previous 6 yr old Samsung ATV Book 4...touch screen, lit keyboard, turn off camera button, fingerprint reader, built in Alexa, and more. The 2-in-1 feature is not something I will probably use since it sits on my desk and very seldom used elsewhere. It was an easy start up and I was able to add the same apps that I had on my old laptop. I had backed up other things on my old laptop to a thumb drive which made it easy to load documents, pitctures, etc. I didn't realize at time of purchase that you can't hard wire this laptop (as was my other laptop) and only uses WIFI connection to use. I added my HP Envy 5660 printer with no problems and the only issue I had was adding my 2006 MS Digital Image Suite Plus photo program. I realized that since it was an old program that it might not load, but after researching the internet for awhile I found the solution and is now up and running. I love this editing program and didn't want to buy another one to replace it. I love everything about this laptop except the mouse pad area (why the 4 stars instead of 5). I was used to using left and right buttons, but its just one big pad and I have trouble right clicking. It seems there's a "sweet" spot that I have to find almost every time I need to use it. It's annoying, but not a deal breaker for returning. Overall, I am loving this laptop and would recommend highly if you can afford it.

Has done a good job so far. I had to return my first one after about 10 days because of of the keys came off. They exchanged it for a new one. The great thing was that I saved $150 as it was on sale that week. It is easy to set up and it is fast. The battery does not last very long (about 3.5 hours). I adjusted the battery setting to slow down the performance and increase the battery life, which seems to have helped. I also changed what the computer does when you turn it off from “sleep” to totally off. Otherwise, it will run the battery down. Overall, I am pleased with this computer.

I am loving this laptop. I was hesitant to purchase one, but the person who helped me in store was very helpful. I showed up just to look, but found out that I was so happy with what I found, I couldn't leave without it. Got the software added and Geek Squad service too and still under the price I expected to pay. Machine is lightweight but strong in performance. Fast program opening and it should last me a long time. Thank you to the gentleman who helped me make a GREAT purchase!
