Great laptop for the price

For the price, this had the best combination of AMD processor and disk space (750GB), plus a DVD drive (a lot of the laptops don't have them anymore). I am happy with the size, weight and ease of use. Not a big fan of Windows 8, but it's not like you have much of a choice anymore. I'd definitely recommend this laptop.

The computer works great. Not a fan of Windows 8, but almost all computers come with it. Only problem, description said it came with dragon naturally speaking software but I couldn't find. After a couple of calls, Best Buy made sure that I had the program as promised.

Conditioned received as "refurbished" essentially the same as new per my observation. Speed, display, built in functions better than any of the last 5 laptops I have owned. Not wild about Windows 8. This machine does not include touch screen (I did not want this function) but even if it did I believe the Windows 8 would feel awkward on a business use laptop. Maybe with more use this impression will diminish.

I wanted a computer that was easy to use, cute, and would handle my heavy usage. So far so good!

Was hesitant to buy a geek squad refurbished product, but this is just like new, no scratches at all and works perfect. Just hate the OS

i have purchase 2 different laptops before this one. i am some what satisfy with most that this hp envy can offer but not some. it depends on what you want to sacrifice. performance wise this thing is a beast along with its video cache. but the fault here is it screen display. color are as crisp and clean. its a bit faded compared to others. the screen is very glossy so glares on it are horrible. also im constant seeing my reflections.
beats audio is lame. my phone speakers sound way better than these junk speakers. other than that the finger print is nice to have. while watching videos its doesn't freeze or choppy.. its pretty smooth. back lit keyboard a plus!! voice recognition nice feature. another plus it doesnt get hot quick and fan is quite.

Good all around computer for the price. No touch screen but what do expect for the price. I'd purchase another for general email and surfing.

Had to return the next day I received the product. The screen kept flickering and freezing. If you are going to sell refurbished products, at least check them out properly. If this was tested there would be no way this would of been missed.

FAST! The A10 gets the job done! Having the optical drive is nice too, some envy's do not come with them-- who wants to carry around an external optical drive? I don't. I am happy with the price as well I got it for $399 and it is worth every penny! I would recommend this laptop to anyone! Another plus it has BEATS!

I own a half a dozen laptops that I use for specialized purposes and I needed one with a backlit keyboard. I'm enjoying this Envy more than I thought I would. I believe that AMD offers the best performance/cost chips on the market, and this A10 is snappy with any business application that I have tried with it. The AMD does fine with virtualized VMware apps as well but you might want to consider a SSD if you run alot of them.
There are two HP design flaws that I have run into over the past couple of years. Two of my laptops don't have num lock toggle lights (what could HP possibly be thinking?). And why are the power and HD light on the side of the machine where you cannot see them ( what is HP thinking?)
Also, this particular Envy model doesn't support the widest viewing angle that I've seen in other models.
But I do enjoy this this laptop quite a bit and would buy it again.

Just received today. No owners manual was included. But luckily I can look that up online. Windows 8 will take some getting used to. Beautiful screen, great colors. Nice having a finger print reader. Its extremely light weight, almost seems too light. Sound didnt sound too great when I received. But I researched proper equalizer settings and tweeked with it, now it sounds pretty good. It took me a while to find the beats audio settings, but was hidden in task bar. Seems legit so far. Its my first time purchasing a refurbished item. Hopefully it doesnt let me down. We shall see!!!

I love this computer when it works. When i play games, it either works for a while, or shuts down immediately. I bought a brand new one, however, i couldn't find the new one on the site, and it was doing this crash thing since the first 10 minutes of use. Im going to bring this to geek squad a second time and demand more than just a "virus check" or whatever they did.

Refurbished?

Bought this computer for home use, but it is annoying at best! Overall its when performing as it should, I like the laptop, but it will freeze up without warning requiring a hard shut down and will automatically and without notice, restarts itself. It almost got punted across the room yesterday from the frustration. It has all required updates and drivers, so there is no clear reason for these issues. I will be taking it to Best Buy this weekend to see if the Geek Squad can do anything with this thing!

OVERHEATING!!!!!!!!! I bought two of these, and back to back, they failed. Both units perpetually overheated, and were returned under GeekSquad warranty. Both of them were great, beautiful machines, but died exactly alike. Buy the warranty, but I hope yours works. I bought this machine last year, and can't seem to find anything as good for less than $500. So, I'd gamble for one of these - but keep an eye on the temperature.

Fresh out of the box and the space bar doesn't work. It's depressed, stuck, whatever. I guess I overestimated what geek certified means. How do you miss a broken space bar?
