This printer worked great for the first couple times that I used it. After 3 months of not using it, it stopped quality printing. I tried troubleshooting it according to the HP help site and their chat but no luck. Will be returning to Bestbuy later today.

I wanted a small black printer that I for sure was discontinued and came across this product. It's got everything I needed from copy, scan, and it's wireless. The set up was very easy and I didn't have to put the cd in to install. It works with my laptop and my cellphone. Great buy. I always love HP products.

Great price and value ....ink last long time prints pretty quick...hooked up wireless w my network love it....i am college student and have been printing a lot have another College student and a high school student so printer has been tested .....easy to set up and use....love that I can print when at coffee shop will leave in que and as soon as I get close will start printing....laptop must be on

Wireless set up was extremely simple. I love how it has a fax machine which is rare to find with a printer. Most printers with a fax machine are huge and made for offices, this is printer size and the price was right!

Easy to set up, quiet and produces excellent quality prints both in documents as well as color prints. Draw back relatively speaking, is volume output is slower than many office designed printers, but the quality of print is far better by design. Besides many letters, documents from 3-30 pages, I've been getting back into photography and have been most pleased with the color print quality. Compare the print quality data across printers, even within the HP stock and you'll readily see the 3830 is far higher than most. Besides photos, I want my professional and personal correspondences to look outstanding and this printer provides just that. Not having high volume print needs in the briefest time possible, this printer is excellent in itself and outstanding for the price range.

This is a really good printer. Works great with my new laptop it is quite and prints really good the wireless is great. Set up was so easy I would say this is a good purchase. :)

I don't print very often and I never fax, but I have been looking for a wireless sheet-feed scanner and this seemed like a good way to handle that need while covering my occasional printing needs. So far I'm pretty impressed with it. It was fairly easy to set up for printing, but when I tried to scan remotely from my computer I was told that I needed to download additional software, but was not directed to where that software might be. I searched the HP site for the Easy Scan app to no avail. I finally searched Google and found it on the iTunes store. Once I downloaded and installed it I was able to scan easily by controlling the scanner in my guest room wirelessly from my laptop in the living room. I also downloaded the scanning app for my iPhone and was able to manage the scanner from that as well. My office is my living room so I don't want a bunch of office equipment sitting around everywhere. With this machine I can keep the printer, scanner, fax (does anybody fax anymore?) machine out of sight but still have it on standby when I need it. In the past I would have to dig the scanner out of the closet, plug it in to my laptop and leave it on the coffee table for the duration of it's use. Now the scanner is available anytime I need it without cluttering up the living room and I can put a stack of docs into it, walk away and manage the scan from the other room. Perfect! I also like the ability to print from anywhere using the iPhone app. When I come home anything I've printed is sitting on the printer waiting for me. Cool. The only thing that I don't love about this all-in-one is that the ink cartridges seem kind of pricey. I think they price them higher so you'll be motivated to join their auto-ordering scheme (basically your printer rats you out to HP whenever the cartridges start getting low.) They pretend that there's a terrific discount through this program, but they seem to be hiking up the prices so they can appear to discount them to a fair retail price. Welcome to the new subscription-based economy! Other than that this is a very practical all-in-one device.

Easy set up. Saves time if you need to fax a paper by simply pushing a button. Compact and fits in a corner. Wireless is the way to go! Prints come out bright and fresh. This is the best machine I've ever had and for such a low price. Best part of this is that I get free ink for a few months delivered directly to my home!!

The hp office jet is a excellent printer so easy to setup I purchase it when bestbuy have a sale on electronics I printed high quality pictures off it. Also it very quiet you barely notice that it's there. It's works very well with my iPhone for the air print. I haven't play with the hp app for it yet

I bought my previous HP some 11 years ago. A durability champ, it slowly wound down to entropy, I shopped this model with fingers crossed. Reliability and simplicity of use were major concerns. Still more important was the two-ink cartridge feature. I wasn't about to weather the hassle of pricey multi-color cartridges. This new printer has met all my needs. Now if only it has the staying power of my original HP....

I had been looking for a good printer for a while. Didn't know whether to go for Canon or Hp. The reviews for Hp were higher so went for it. Got mine while it was on sale 69.99. Its an all-in-one which includes print copy scan and fax. I've printed from my iPhone, Samsung tablet, MacBook, and moms android phone with out any problems. No over run pages, very clear and fast. I would recommend getting the Hpinstantink program with it to save a lot on ink (up to 50%). I subscribed to the $4.99/mo for 100pgs. New ink is shipped to my home every month and even before my old ink finishes so very convenient in my case. Hpinstantink has 3 different subscriptions $2.99/mo for 50 pgs, $4.99/mo for 100 pgs, and $9.99/mo for over 200 pgs. Oh and a 3-month free trial to start off. Can't get any better than this. This little bundle was a great purchase for me!

I was looking for a wireless all in one printer. I found this one on sale and did not give it a second thought. This is the first wireless printer I have purchased and am extremely pleased with it. Setup is very easy and all the functions I have used (printer, copy, scan) work great!

I have this printer over several months now and I would saw I impressed of this printer. It lets you print in black and white and grey-scale when you put it as a default. I would suggest going online looking for how to do this. It is a very easy setup with wifi and it was easily found. I have printed from my phone, various laptops and etc. I have not had any problems as of yet. I would say the only thing I do not like is the print cartridges do not contain a lot of ink and HP is really pushing for the monthly ink program. If you print a lot then I suggest doing that, if not like myself then its not a good idea.

This has been a great purchase so far! The printer is fast and reliable. The wireless printing capabilities are easy to setup and work great. No complaints whatsoever!

I was very surprised by this printer. All the printers I have had in the past have always had problems . Either something breaks inside or the printing paper always gets jammed. So I was expecting the same thing to happen with this one. And I was pleasantly surprised! Not only does the paper not get jammed, but The amount of capabilities it gives you really makes it stand out from the cheap garbage printers that are out there. Wireless printing (connected to ANY DEVICE, phone, desktop, laptop, tablet, etc.) WITHOUT needing internet, touchscreen menu, scan, fax,copying directly from the printer quickly, quickly printing quick premade forms directly from the printer, quiet mode, etc. But heres the part that really surprised me. I didn't actually believe that 2 ink cartridges (black, color) were actually included with this printer like the description said. I figured there was a catch to it (like you had to order to Ink Ready program first in order to receive the ink). BUT NO...I WAS WRONG. It really DID came included packaged inside the box with my printer. Not to mention I had free shipping (cause it was an order over $35). Wow...I'm really happy with my experience this time. You know those times when you buy something and you feel like you paid less than it was really worth? Well this is one of those times. The quality of the printer plus the extra perks of 2 free ink cartridges included, PLUS FREE SHIPPING....was definitely worth more than what I paid. Look I'm so happy that I'm over here rambling on about a printer. I give this printer and experience altogether 5 stars. I recommend this printer highly if you're looking for an inexpensive printer that works like an expensive one.

I bought this printer for my son for college. It prints great. Installation was not easy. With HPs wireless printers I have had pretty good success setting them up. That has been on home networks. This one was for a college dorm on a more public network that was supposed to be private to the room. It was not an easy set up and we finally settled on a work around. It lacked a USB cable to run it directly from the computer which made it a little more challenging to work with. Price was great. Although ink prices seem to be getting higher and higher.

I bought this printer for use for graduate school classes, especially since I knew we'd likely be online at some point this semester. It was easy to set up (just make sure you do it all at the same time, or you might have to start over) and it's worked perfectly printing and scanning with my MacBook! One of the main reasons I picked this printer is because it said it did front and back scanning through the automatic document feeder. It doesn't scan both sides at the same time, but the scanning app does scan all the front pages, then tell you how to reinsert the pages to scan the backs, and it automatically puts the pages in order afterwards! So, that's worked super well! It also doesn't print front and back, but it's been easy for me to print all the odd pages, then reinsert them and print the even pages on the backs. It also scans from books really well using the glass scanner, which was an important feature for me. I've been using the free trial of Instant Ink, but I think it'll be cheaper for me to just buy off-brand cartridge replacements online, especially since I really only use black ink. Either way, the free trial and free ink has been great for now! All in all, this has been the perfect printer for me! It was a great price and good size and does everything I wanted!

Bought this printer for a low price when Best Buy had a sale and even at full price it’s worth it. Set up was simple and easy. It included your first set of ink. Has all your basic functions: print, copy, fax and scan! You can also print straight from your phone or email do units to your personal printer email and they can print automatically. Doesn’t get any simpler than this.

Printer also comes with scanner, fax and copy. The quality of the printer is great for the price and I have had no issues with it, also it was very easy to install and connect to my wireless devices.
