Worst Printer I've gotten from HP

The setup was easy enough. Everything was fine till I turned the printer on the next day. The printer took at least 5-6 minute re-aligning before I could use the printer. Then after I printed a few pages, the aligning process started all over again. I took out the cartridges and placed them back into the slots. Same thing happens. It is constantly running the re-aligning process.

My only complaint is WHY does the ink always cost so much!?! Its less expensive to just buy a new printer than it is to replace the ink ! Why does it have to be this way? Love this little printer, though and set up was really easy

The printer is really good. The price is kinda affordable, at least if compared to other models. The lack of a scanner unit is a let down, but not a dealbreaker as I had another non-functioning all-in-one printer with a still functioning scanner. I had some hiccups installing it for the first time, as it asked for a usb cable, which wasn't included in the box. Overall, the print quality is good, and it's really nice being able to print on both sides of the paper.

I bought it because it said there was a monthly ink service. I bought the card that would get me started. When I went to set up the service it said this printer was not eligible. Now I have to return the printer. Time wasted. Grrrr.

After support at HP could not fix the original printer that Best Buy sold me I ended up with a reconditioned one that appears to work correctly. However the original one was a nightmare, the printer cartridge error was continious which was strange as I was printing black and white but the color cartridge error stopped me? I do not blame Best Buy at all.

    50% Defect Rate

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We purchased eight Officejet Pro 6230 printers. So far, HP has replaced 4 of them due to print head or paper size light issues. Each time I speak with a representative, he/she offers to sell me an extended warranty. Clearly these products are defective. Why would HP think that customers who have had a 50% defect rate be interested in paying more for an extended warranty? HP has never offered to extend the warranties on their own accord or provide replacements for all eight printers with a different, less defective model. Seems like HP is banking on the warranties expiring, forcing us to replace all eight printers in a short period of time. Lastly, the HP site will not allow me to submit a bad review of the product for others to see. I have tried multiple times. I also attempted to submit a website ticket to fix the review section, but I received no response. Buyers beware!

Hi wboutlaw, Contacting HP to address printhead issues is what is recommended. HP Support can determine if a replacement printer is required for printhead issues. As for your concerns if you would like for me to escalate your case please send me an email with unit serial number(s) and your contact information and any HP case numbers. [email protected]. Meanwhile, I am providing the link to reach HP Support per region: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html Cheers, Cheron HP Inc HP

Bad quality and terrible HP service

I absolutely agree with wboutlaw. It's defective model. I had the same problem with head or paper size light issues. Unfortunately, it takes me more then 30 days to understand this. I didn't have extended warranty, so when I contact with HP they answered me, that are not able to take returns outside of 30 days. I am interested to return the goods of improper quality. I wanna have the best quality for my money. I strongly don't recommend to buy this printer.

Not the best printer. I feel I printed off about 50 pages and the black ink is already needing replacement.

My printer is three years old and has failed already. This printer, as with all HP devices is poorly made and will fail in a short period of time. The print cartridges are more expensive than the printer. Buyer Beware!!
