    Decent Printer When it Worked

I purchased this printer in Oct 2022 and became so frustrated with it and replaced it by the end of October 2024. When it did work, it worked great. Slowly but surely it did got worse and worse. Incredibly difficult to get a hold of HP customer support to help with issues. I started having issues with the wireless scanning feature. Ended up taking me 6 months to get a hold of HP support and have them "help" me only for them to tell me that because my laptop had the latest OS update for Mac that it could no longer wirelessly scan.... no fix after 6+ months and none were expected. That was just the beginning of it. I started having issues with the ink subscription I had through HP, issues with the printer spazzing out and not working for no reason. So I finally gave up on it and switched to an Epson. Extremely disappointed in HP, their lack of quality and customer service nowadays. Honestly the worst home printer I've ever owned. Ended up trading it in to Best Buy to recycle. Don't know that I'll ever try HP again

Simple to set up for computer and mobile devices. Prints fast. Excellent color images. Two-sided printing is great. All in all, best printer I have owned.

I've owned HP printers now for more years than I can remember. They are reliable and fast and don't use ink up as quickly as others might have you think.

I have had this printer for year now. I always been an Epson fan. This HP printer with instan ink program has changed my mind about inkjet printers. This printer does everything including 2 sided scanning and printing. I have recommended this printer to everyone I know and interested in a printer. Price is a great also. I have sold at least 6 of these printer to my friends and family. The instant ink program makes it the best ever deal. No more buying ink cartridges, They send them in the mail and you pay a small monthly fee for the amount of pages a month you print.

The Office Jet Pro 6978 replaces an older HP printer that was a slower printer. Very easy to set up and works well from, laptop, Iphone, and tablet. Has fax. Uses Instant Ink, which will save money in the long run. I'm on a membership committee of an organization, and so far this printer has met my expectations in printing documents/information for members.

I purchased the hp printer after my Dell printer was broken during a recent move. It’s compact, reliable, sends updates and keeps track of and can request more ink and ships directly to your home. It copies and prints cleanly. The scanner is great as well, I only wish that the top feeder could scan photos more easily. Instead, I have to put them on the glass top and scan one photo at a time. I am trying to scan all the family photos and burn them onto cd’s to make sure relatives have copies as well. To preserve them. The HP also has a fax component, but I currently do not use.

Always been a fan of HP. Last All In One HP unit starting to fade so thought I'd take advantage of the BB Trade in Program on either HP or Epson units. Now wondering if I should be running the Epson instead! Opening the box revealed a very well packaged, nice looking, unit that supposedly does all I was looking for. In this day n age you'd think that simply plugging in a highly rated product like this to a high end iMac would be a painless process right? NOT! I literally spent over 3 hours trying to get this thing set up! It needed firmware updates, no biggie - but that led me on a long winded search n seizure operation all over the www to get this thing to be recognized. The HP Site was "somewhat" helpful but one shouldn't have to uninstall all old drivers and software (same brand at that) but there I was, spending hours telling myself to box it up and swap it out same day! However, I had to get some vital docs scanned and sent out asap. Speaking or scanning, this unit has two ways to do so - up top from feeder tray, and the usual on glass method. BOTH kept throwing error msgs at me time after time. I literally had to scan the doc, take a screen shot of the tiny scanned item on list, and then convert it to a jpeg so I could at least get it out. I wont go on and on, but will return it before the 14 day period. Buyer beware, even if you are a HP lover.

Did you update the the latest drivers? You will also want to get the latest printing application to utilize the printer. It can also boil down to what version of Mac OS you are using. The latest version is still being coded for across many hardware providers, so updated firmware is a must, ad well as new drivers. HP

I primarily use it for business-related tasks. I haven't tried to print any pictures or anything of that nature. The coloring on regular paper is pretty decent for what I need. It takes awhile to start-up initially so as long as you don't be in a rush to print out anything you will be ok with this printer. I really enjoy that I can print from my phone. I tend to use this feature a lot. Cons - Slow start-up Takes a while on some color prints Pros - Print from phone Fast Document printing Time-out to save energy Doesn't use a ton of ink

I have 2 photo quality Canon printers which make beautiful color photo prints but are slow and often require unplugging before they will see our network. This HP is lightening fast, was easy to install and scans and copies double sided originals with ease. We did sign up for the HP ink program which appears easy and cheaper than locally bought factory ink.

We replaced a fax/printer/scanner that no longer would "grab" paper. We are not good at technology so were relieved when this model was easy to install and to set up the Fax. We liked it so much that we bought a second one for our vacation home. It is not too large, but can handle a lot of "work". It is relatively quiet and is working perfectly....

So far, I'm loving this printer. It does much more than my old HP, which I had for 8 or 10 years -- a real workhorse. I was dreading the day the old printer died -- figured I'd have to spend $300 or so to get something as good as that. Like many other tech items, this newer printer does more for less money. Love than I can scan directly to my computer -- big time saver for me. Prints fast. I had a bit of trouble getting it up and running with my Mac. I don't have a DVD player on my laptop anymore so I couldn't use the installer. So I had to select "manual install" or something (I forget) at some point in the startup process, which I found confusing but once I got put the nerve to click it, everything went smoothly and I was up and running. The directions are not super clear for Mac. Also, I looked up the pdf of instructions and it says you can scan a printed document and it could convert the pages to text, so you could manipulate the text, but I couldn't make it work without using the DVD installer (which is impossible for me and customer service couldn't help me with that). Otherwise, though, I'm enjoying all of the features and would totally buy this printer again.

This printer has a great print and can scan and copy. It was super easy to set up and connects wireless to my lap top phone or what ever device i want to print from. Me and the wife love it. The only down fall is the paper tray is small so you are limited on the capacity of how much paper you can have in the printer at one time. Over all Great product.
